Chapter 61 Tess, Leon
Chapter 61 Tess, Leon
The class assignment ceremony is still ongoing.
"Tess Warrens, Class One of the Red Thistles!"
At this moment, Caesar, who was standing on the stage, saw that a young girl in the first row stood up. It turned out to be the daughter of Kent Warrens, the acting secretary of the Military Council.
Tess applied one last swipe of lipstick, put away her small makeup box, tossed her flowing brown hair, and walked gracefully toward the podium.
She walked past Sia, who was in the lead, and chose to ignore her, but slightly curtsied to Caesar, who was behind Sia, and gave him a sweet smile.
"Gui'an."
"Greetings." Caesar smiled and returned her greeting.
Although Tess was wearing the school uniform, she wore exquisite hair clips and earrings, and a gemstone necklace around her fair neck. It seemed that she wanted to make herself as eye-catching as possible within the rigid dress code.
Tess stood behind Caesar. As she passed by, Caesar caught a whiff of a very memorable perfume, which made him twitch his nose a few times.
"She's only in third place?" Caesar thought to himself.
This seemingly carefree, fashionable girl actually gets such good grades; no wonder her father, though unhappy with her behavior, hasn't stopped her.
The girl was very friendly, but Caesar knew that her family background was one of the most prominent in the entire school.
Her father was the acting executive secretary of the Fein Military Commission, the highest-ranking officer in the military, while her mother was the daughter of the president of the world-class military industrial enterprise "Giant Stone" Group.
This group is a major supplier to Fein's army.
Caesar once saw a news report that the president of the Boulder Group gifted his granddaughter a pink Burke-class tank for her ninth birthday.
The class division continued, and after the top three students were all assigned to the same class, the rest were ranked outside the top ten. However, most students in the first class would be ranked within the top fifty.
"Leon Jackson, Red Thistle Class One!"
This was the last student in Class One of the Red Thistle Flower. Caesar was slightly taken aback when the student stood up.
The familiar blond hair walked over; it was the same young man who had just tried to sell him his success manual.
A blond boy named Leon walked over, and when he saw Caesar, he smiled and waved to him.
Caesar gave him a slight twitch of his lips in return, which Leon didn't mind. He walked on, greeting each student in the class, and finally stood at the end of the class.
All 25 students in Class 1 of the Red Thistle were present. Led by the senior student, they left the podium through the back door. Caesar saw Yumilia sitting in the corner, stretching out her arm and waving excitedly at him.
Caesar forced a smile, waved to Yumilia, and then left the lecture hall.
"Was that your sister just now? She's such a lovely girl."
As soon as he stepped out of the lecture hall, the fashionable young woman, Tess, approached him from behind and asked with a faint smile.
“That’s my parent,” Caesar replied.
Tess's smile froze on her lips, followed by a soft "Huh?"
“She’s an elf. Although she looks very young, according to Fane’s citizenship law, she’s considered an adult now,” Caesar explained. “An elf?” Tess’s initial shock turned to surprise, and she leaned even closer, her eyes shining as she asked:
"Really? An elf? This is the first time I've ever seen such a tiny elf! She's so cute!"
"Quiet!"
Tess's exclamation was interrupted by a shout from ahead. It was their homeroom teacher, a tall, burly, square-faced, stubble-covered, and fierce-looking middle-aged man. He turned his head and glared at Tess.
Tess shrank back, stuck out her pink tongue, and muttered, "They weren't even that loud."
They walked out of the lecture hall and stood on the soft, sunlit campus lawn.
The stern-looking homeroom teacher turned around, hands behind his back, his sharp gaze sweeping over the 25 young faces, and spoke in a low voice:
"I am Taylor Colt, the homeroom teacher of Class 1, Red Thistle, and I teach you history,"
He paused for a moment, then continued, "Let me make this clear first: I'm a person who places extreme importance on discipline. If anyone misbehaves in class, I don't care which family you're from. In my class, I have the authority to decide your fate."
After he finished speaking, his gaze fell on Tess.
"Take off your earrings and necklace."
"Huh?" Tess frowned and immediately retorted, "There's no rule against wearing jewelry in the school rules!"
“It’s not in the school rules, but it is in my class rules,” Taylor said coldly. “I’ll repeat it one last time: remove it.”
Tess bit her lower lip, snorted, but still took off her earrings and necklace, threw them into her school uniform pocket, and angrily turned her head away, not giving Taylor a friendly look.
With even a wealthy heiress like Tess being disciplined, the remaining students naturally dared not misbehave anymore, and stood up properly as if they were soldiers undergoing training.
However, Caesar could indeed sense that Taylor's posture and tone exuded the decisiveness and competence of a soldier.
The other party was a soldier, and had been to the battlefield.
Standing on the lawn, Taylor began announcing the class rules one by one.
This includes prohibitions against wearing makeup and jewelry, using foul language and any insulting words, and engaging in any discriminatory behavior.
In addition, there is a rule that is very characteristic of the military: if you do anything outside of studying in class, you must report it.
As these strict class rules were established, even the high-achieving students from prominent families showed their displeasure.
"If you violate these rules three times, you'll have to go back to where you came from," Taylor said in a deep voice.
After gazing at the trembling boys and girls for a moment, Taylor turned away.
"Now follow me to familiarize yourself with the school. Keep quiet along the way. If you have any questions, shout 'Report!'"
After a few exchanges, Taylor had established himself as a strict and rigid person. The students in the class followed him quietly, not daring to utter a single word.
The Saint-Yaro Academy comprises three main teaching areas, a large ecological park, and a research building, covering an area of approximately two million square meters including the surrounding area.
It was unrealistic to visit the entire area, so Taylor only took them to see the lower grades' school buildings and some representative locations.
The classroom of Class 1, Red Thistle, is located on the first floor of the teaching building. It is a tiered classroom with rows of carved mahogany desks and chairs, giving it an exquisite feel, like a historical artifact.
Next was the cafeteria. The college dismissed students at 4 p.m., and they could bring their own lunch or go to the cafeteria, which offered food that catered to different tastes from all over the world and was surprisingly affordable. The cafeteria's decor made Caesar think he had entered a Michelin-starred restaurant, but a communal dining version.
