Chapter 34 Birthday
Chapter 34 Birthday (Part 2)
Let's give her a round of applause!
Amidst thunderous applause, Caesar's eye twitched.
"Go for it, little Casey!" Yumilia gave him a thumbs-up.
Ita, standing beside Yumilia, slightly lifted her head from her embrace and stuck out her tongue at him shyly.
"You're messing with me." He covered his face.
The applause never stopped, and he could only walk stiffly onto the stage amidst the applause.
The host pulled him aside and asked the audience, "Let's praise this brave little princess! What is your name, little princess?"
“Caesar,” he forced out of his throat.
"Oh, it's Princess Caesar. Hmm?" The host seemed to only then realize something was wrong; it was clearly a boy's name.
Noticing the misunderstanding, her lips stiffened slightly; at first glance, it was impossible to tell that this was actually a boy.
But now that everyone's here, whether they're boys or girls, they just have to grit their teeth and keep going.
"Then, our little Princess Caesar, please, please take your magic wand and shout out the magic of love and justice!"
The host handed the adorable magic wand to Caesar, and the children around him cheered him on enthusiastically.
Caesar's toes had already dug a three-bedroom apartment into the floor.
He stood there, holding that ridiculously stupid magic staff, not moving an inch, watching as the hero was pinned to the ground and beaten by the Dark Lord.
"Hurry up! The hero is about to be defeated!"
Ita, who had been too shy to even lift her head just moments before, now stood up and shouted at him.
The evil demon king kicked the swordsman, then laughed and walked towards Caesar.
"Hehehe! I didn't expect it to be a cowardly princess who came up! You must be terrified by my mighty body right now!"
"Damn Demon King! Don't be so arrogant!"
"Princess! Quickly defeat him with your magic wand!"
"Your princess is a coward! She's no match for me!" the Demon King laughed loudly, completely absorbed in his role. He leaned close to Caesar, giving him an extremely smug and arrogant look, and said:
"Coward, you'd better kowtow to this king and then go back to your mother's arms to drink your milk!"
These words seemed to enrage Caesar instantly; veins bulged visibly on his forehead, and he gripped his magic wand tightly.
The Demon King then saw the other party twitch the corner of his mouth and chuckle, then suddenly raise his magic wand and wave it upwards.
Given their height difference, Caesar's wave of his hand sent the tip of his magic wand striking the Demon King precisely in the crotch.
Click.
The sound of an egg breaking.
The Demon King's expression instantly shifted from extreme arrogance to extreme pain.
"Ah...it's mine."
He clutched his chest and slowly collapsed.
"The princess has defeated the demon king!"
"Amazing! It's the magic of love and justice!"
The children around cheered with joy at the sight.
"Are you... are you alright?"
The host quickly went up to ask the Demon King.
"It hurts so much! Hurry up and keep performing!" The Demon King's face was contorted with pain, but he still spoke in a low, hoarse voice.
"Uh," the host looked at him with pity, then gave a signal to the brave man next to him.
The hero glanced at the Demon King with pity, then flipped himself up, raised the holy sword, and shouted a slogan.
"Die! Demon King, this is my all-out attack in the name of justice!"
He stabbed the Demon King with his sword, and then red smoke rose up, enveloping the stage. Caesar saw the Demon King get up, clutching his groin, and stagger off the stage.
"They're really dedicated," he couldn't help but say.
"Haha, thank you, brave child! Without your help, I could not have defeated the evil Dark Lord," the hero said loudly to Caesar after the performance, reaching out to pat his head, but Caesar grabbed his hand instead.
"You're too kind, it's a pleasure doing business with you," Caesar said, shaking his hand.
It seemed a little strange, but the hero still shook hands with him in a friendly manner.
Then the host brought out a large teddy bear pillow as a souvenir gift for the guests who participated in the stage play performance.
"So disgusting!"
As soon as he stepped off the stage, Ita rushed over and hugged him tightly.
But Caesar raised a hand and tapped her on the head.
"I won't take the blame for you next time."
"Uh, I don't know," Ita said, rubbing her head.
Caesar handed her the teddy bear souvenir he had given her.
"You can take this and play with it."
"Really? Thank you!" Ita was overjoyed.
"Oh, if only I could have taken a picture of Caesar standing on the stage just now, he looked so handsome," Yumilia said regretfully, resting her hand on her face.
“I don’t think so,” Caesar said.
After watching the stage performance, they rode the Ferris wheel and the water carousel. The day at the amusement park ended quickly. On the train home, the three sat side by side. Yumilia, like a child, was too tired from playing and fell asleep leaning on Caesar's shoulder. Ita, sitting on the other side, hugged the teddy bear that was half her height and leaned against him.
"It's supposed to be your birthday today, but I'm the one having the most fun," Ita whispered, half her face buried in her teddy bear.
“To be honest, I’m very happy too,” Caesar said in a low voice.
“I really look forward to coming to the amusement park again,” Ita said.
"Then let's wait until your birthday. By the way, when is your birthday?" Caesar suddenly remembered and asked.
Ita seemed stumped by the question, tilting his head in thought, but couldn't recall it for a long time.
"I don't seem to remember. My older brother and sister don't seem to celebrate my birthday very often," Ita said.
"The only people I can remember celebrating my birthday are my parents, but it's all very blurry," she said, her eyes closed and her brows furrowed as she tried to recall.
"It seems that I haven't seen my parents since after that birthday."
"What kind of dragons were your parents?" Caesar asked.
Ita thought for a moment: "They always seem to be very busy. Sometimes when I see them, they only stay with me for a day or two before leaving. However, my mother is very gentle. She will scrape my scales and tell me stories. Although my father is strict, he will also bring me delicious food."
"But they were always flying around, and then one day, I never saw them again. After that, my older brother and sister raised me. They were very good to me."
If that's the case, then Ita's parents might still have contact with humans, traveling around and perhaps handling human affairs.
This made Caesar realize that perhaps the dragons were not completely cut off from the outside world, and perhaps they still had a huge power group in human society in secret.
As for Ita's parents' current situation, Caesar felt it wasn't good; the claim that they had gone to a very far place sounded too much like a death sentence.
"Caesar," Ita called softly.
"Ok?"
"I'm so happy to be with you every day now, but I'm afraid that one day I'll have to go back to the Dragon Clan and I won't be able to see you anymore."
Caesar chuckled and pinched her cheek: "Don't worry, even if you go back to the Dragon Clan, I will still come looking for you."
“But you’re human, so people might not welcome you,” Ita said worriedly.
“I have my own way,” Caesar said.
To be honest, if those dragons really met him, they would at least have to address him as their great-uncle.
Whether they'll welcome them or not remains to be seen.
"Caesar's rice is getting cold, hurry up and eat!"
Yumilia, leaning on his shoulder, mumbled in her sleep.
"Yes, I understand," Caesar said to her in a low voice, tilting his head.
