Chapter 30 I Want to See You Change
Chapter 30 I Want to See You Change
"Caesar, Ita!"
On my way home from school today, just as I reached the village entrance, I saw Yumilia waving at us from under the old tree. Ita immediately ran over and jumped into her arms.
"They've gotten so close in just two days," Caesar thought to himself as he followed behind.
Yumilia ruffled Ita's hair and asked, "How was your first day of school?"
"I'm so happy! My teacher even gave me a little red flower today!"
She raised her hand and showed Yumilia a small red flower sticker on the back of her hand.
"It was a gift from the teacher when I was playing with clay, because she said I behaved well!" Xiaolong said, tilting his chin up, looking quite proud.
"That's amazing," Yumilia said with a smile.
"Yeah, that's amazing, I didn't even get one," Caesar muttered as he walked over.
"Caesar, you've had a hard day too." Yumilia reached out and ruffled Caesar's hair.
“I’m not a child anymore.” Caesar clicked his tongue and turned his face away to avoid Yumilia’s caresses.
"Let's go home, I've prepared a cake for you today."
Back home, Ita put down her schoolbag and ran to the kitchen. She stood on a stool to wash her hands, then sat on the table with anticipation. Yumilia brought over two slices of sweet cream cake, decorated with colorful fruit slices.
The two children each got a piece of cake, but Caesar's piece had a little less cream.
Ita picked up a small spoon and stuffed a large piece of cake into her mouth until her cheeks were bulging and her mouth was covered in cream.
By the time Caesar sat down and put half a grape in his mouth, she had already eaten most of it.
Caesar watched the happy expression on her face as she ate the cake. He paused, put the spoon down, and pushed the cake tray in front of her.
Ita blinked at Caesar while moving his mouth like a hamster, and mumbled something indistinctly:
"Isn't Caesar going to eat?"
"I don't like sweets," Caesar said casually, pouring himself a glass of water.
"Thank you, brother~" Ita said happily.
Caesar paused for a moment upon hearing this address, then suddenly felt a little embarrassed, coughed, and said:
"This is just a public relationship; you can call me by my first name in private."
"Can't I call you 'brother' at home?" Ita asked, biting her spoon.
Caesar, seeing the expectant look in her eyes, shifted his gaze and whispered, "Call me whatever you want."
“Caesar,” Ita said immediately.
Caesar paused for a moment, then hummed in agreement.
Ita visibly brightened up, and her smile became even more captivating.
In a good mood, I ate two slices of cream cake all by myself.
"Hey, Ita, look, your mouth is covered in cream."
Just after finishing her meal, Yumilia came down from the second floor and saw Ita with a dirty face. She went over, picked up a handkerchief, and began to wipe Ita's face.
Ita blushed as her mouth was wiped like that, and lowered her head.
"What's wrong?" Yumilia asked with concern.
“Caesar is like a brother to me, and Yumilia is as gentle as a mother,” Ita said.
"Speaking of which, you haven't seen your parents much, so you should at least look like your sister," Caesar thought to himself.
Yumilia blinked, then said gently to her:
“That’s great. You can treat Caesar as your brother, me as your mother, and this place as your home. Even if you find your parents in the future, you can come to us.” Ita lowered her head and called out softly.
“Hmm,” Yumilia responded gently.
Ita blushed and then buried her head in Yumilia's arms.
Caesar watched this heartwarming scene from the sidelines.
"Dragons, elves, and me, this old thing from hundreds of years ago, the composition of this family is really quite complicated," he thought to himself.
So Ita stayed at the house. Caesar taught her Iro language while she learned dragon language from Yumilia. Since she already knew it, she had to pretend she didn't know anything at first and her pronunciation wasn't standard. It took her more than a week to gradually correct her pronunciation. This surprised Yumilia with her learning speed. Caesar could only say that he would ask Ita to teach him a few words from time to time.
Fortunately, he met Yumilia, who didn't care so much about why Caesar was progressing so quickly, but just praised him for being smart. If he had met someone else, they would definitely have doubted his learning progress.
In contrast, Ita struggled a bit with learning Irolian, but after a few days, Caesar taught her some common words so she could manage her daily life.
Ita was having a great time at kindergarten. She was slowly being changed by her surroundings. In just one week, she went from being a little dragon who was unfamiliar with humans to making friends at the kindergarten. According to Ita, she had always stayed in the dragon race and didn't know that humans had so many fun things to do.
It turns out that as long as you're good-looking, you'll be popular even if you don't speak the language. Everyone loves this cute girl from a foreign country. But Chopper is always worried that Ita will try to take advantage of his ball again.
"Pay attention to the context when pronouncing this. Normally, it's pronounced like the 'ti' sound, but when referring to the first person, it's pronounced like the 'di' sound."
This weekend, Caesar was teaching Ita in the living room when Yumilia came downstairs carrying a small bag:
"Caesar, I'd like to trouble you and Ita to watch the house. I'm going to town with Mrs. Bell to buy some fresh honey."
"Okay, sure," Caesar replied casually.
Ita looked up at her expectantly.
“I’ll bring back some snacks,” Yumilia said.
"Good~"
Yumilia went out, and as the sounds of her conversation with Mrs. Bell faded into the distance, Caesar got up, leaned out the window, and watched their figures disappear at the village entrance.
He immediately locked the door and drew all the curtains in broad daylight.
Ita, who was learning to write, suddenly felt a darkness. She looked up and stared at Caesar in confusion.
"what happened?"
Caesar turned his head and smiled slightly at Ithaca.
"There's something I'd like you and I to do together."
Ita winked at him, suddenly sensing that Caesar's expression seemed somewhat...
The long-awaited excitement?
Caesar came to her side and said in a low voice, "Itah."
"Um"
Ita shrank back, feeling that Caesar was getting a little too close.
"Your magic should be fully restored by now, right?" Caesar asked in a low voice.
"It has recovered quite a bit."
Ita nodded.
"Can you change into your dragon form now?"
