Chapter 232 Muirner's Purpose.
Chapter 232 Muirner's Purpose.
"You've had contact with Rean recently, haven't you?"
A single, casual remark left Xia frozen in place, her mind going completely blank.
Muirner looked at her pale face, his expression unchanged, and got up to take the empty water cups and kettle from the tray to the kitchen, giving her a long time to recover.
When she sat down again, Sia stiffly asked, "With...with whom?"
“Rean, that’s your ancestor, that ancient emperor, is that alright?” Muirna said calmly.
"You've been in contact with him recently, haven't you?"
"I," Xia, had recovered somewhat from the shock. She swallowed hard, her mind racing, and finally tentatively began to speak:
"Are you referring to the wisp of divine consciousness remaining within the crown of the king? That's nothing more than..."
“No, I’m talking about him personally, well… but in his current state, he probably can’t even be called a human anymore, right?” Muirner said.
“Him”
“He, is that it?” Muirna noticed the difference in the personal pronouns that Sia used and nodded thoughtfully.
"No wonder, is that so?"
"What...what exactly do you want?" Xia asked, bewildered.
“I told you, there’s no need to be nervous,” Muirner said calmly. “You should know that I can be so open and honest with you without any reservations, and you should know my position.”
However, Sia remained fully vigilant. She knew the power of the elf opposite her, and this matter was probably not something she could decide with just a few words.
After forcing herself to calm down, Sia said:
"I don't know your purpose, so I can't tell you anything right now."
“Yes,” Muirner was not surprised by her response. “Indeed, you should talk to that person about this and decide whether or not to accept my offer.”
"Also, you can convey one of my messages to Him, saying, 'The Messiah flower has bloomed.' He will understand,"
A flicker of uncertainty crossed Sia's eyes. After a moment, she slowly spoke:
"I still don't understand what you're talking about, and I can't give you any definite answer,"
“Yes, I know. I’m already very grateful that you’re willing to stay and listen to me.” Muirna just smiled faintly.
Looking at the other woman's beautiful face, which revealed no hint of scheming or treachery, Xia suddenly realized that this visit to the School of Ecology was probably something she had planned for a long time, all to give them a chance to talk privately. As an enemy of the Unger faction, she certainly couldn't invite her openly, so she sought out this opportunity.
Even her invitation to Caesar and his friends to the tea party at the end of the event was a cover for her to meet with him.
However, she probably hasn't figured out the relationship between Caesar and Emperor Rean yet, otherwise she wouldn't have bypassed him and negotiated with her alone.
In any case, this matter certainly cannot be concealed, and what Muirner's true purpose is for Caesar to decide.
"Caesar, thank you so much this time. It's all thanks to you that I was able to be received by Professor Muirner, chat with her at her home, and even get her autograph," Tess said excitedly, her pretty face flushed as she held the autographed book.
"You've already asked me, what can I say?" Caesar chuckled.
"Then I won't say any more. If you ever need any help in the future, just let me know!" Tess said, patting her chest generously.
"Row."
“Alright, we should hurry back now. Once everyone at school leaves, we’ll have to take a bus home ourselves,” Leon said.
“You all go back first. I have something to discuss with Professor Muirner later,” Caesar said.
So Tess and Leon left first, while Caesar stood alone outside the courtyard waiting.
He was still wondering what Muirna wanted to see Xia when, a short while later, he saw a petite figure rushing past in the distance.
Yumilia, carrying a small backpack, ran past him from a short distance away, completely unaware of Caesar standing there.
“Yumeria,” Caesar called her.
"Ugh?"
Yumilia turned her head, saw Caesar, and quickly ran back.
"Huff, huff, Caesar, what are you doing here? Where are your classmates?" Yumilia asked curiously after catching her breath.
“Professor Muirna invited me to a tea party earlier, but it’s over now. She’s inside talking with the other students, and I’m waiting here,” Caesar said. He noticed that Yumilia was holding a small wooden box, so he asked what it was.
“Oh, these are plant samples to be given to the research department. They’re very busy, so they asked me to deliver them,” Yumilia said.
"Didn't you come here to learn? How did you become an errand boy?" Caesar frowned slightly.
“Don’t say that, Caesar. This is part of the learning process. I’m new here, and I need to try to win everyone’s favor. It’s also a good opportunity for me to get familiar with the environment,” Yumilia said.
"Sigh, you still..."
Before Caesar could finish speaking, Yumilia realized she had lingered there too long, and hurriedly waved to Caesar again.
"Then I'll be going now. Caesar, be careful on your way back."
"Understood," Caesar said goodbye.
Not long after Yumilia left, Sia came out of the hut.
Caesar noticed that she didn't look well, and when she came to his side, he asked in a low voice, "What did she say to you?"
Sia glanced at him, her eyes filled with a helplessness he couldn't understand.
“I…I’ll tell you when I get back,” Sia said softly. She glanced back at Muirna’s house, then said to Caesar:
"Be careful of her, something's wrong with her."
Caesar raised his eyebrows, then nodded.
Sia left first, and Caesar, after a moment's thought, went back to the hut.
Muirner was tidying up the cups in the kitchen when Caesar came in. She had just put the washed cups on the drainer and was drying her hands when she came out.
"It's really rare to have such a lively scene. Sigh, seeing you young kids so carefree, I'm so envious," she sighed.
“Homework and exams can be stressful too,” Caesar said with a shrug.
“That’s much easier than it is for me,” Muirner said.
"Yes. Um, did Yumilia cause any trouble by coming over?" Caesar asked.
"Not at all. Although Xiaoliya is here to study, I'm still very happy to have such a lovely girl by my side every day, aren't I?" Muirna said with a smile.
"By the way, Xiao Sa, what was that thing you said you'd show me last time?"
"Yes, this is it."
Caesar took out a small aluminum box, opened it, and pinched out the tiny, pure white seed with two fingers.
Muirner glanced at it once, and his attention was immediately drawn to it.
She strode forward and stared intently at the seed.
"Where did you get this, Caesar?" Muirner asked softly.
"I got it by chance, from a friend," Caesar said.
"Professor, do you recognize this?"
Judging from her reaction, she clearly remembered this seed.
Muirner nodded slightly.
"The last time I saw him was a long time ago, when I was very young,"
"Is this a seed?"
Her gaze slowly shifted from the pure white seed to Caesar's face.
"Strictly speaking, it is indeed a seed, but within it lies a world."
