Chapter 175 Teacher Ita's Emotional Counseling
Chapter 175 Teacher Ita's Emotional Counseling (3.2k)
When I arrived at school and entered the classroom, I immediately saw Leon huddled in his seat, yawning.
"Sigh, the weather's getting cooler and I'm getting sleepy. I can barely keep my eyelids open all day," he said, rubbing his eyelids.
He glanced at Caesar, who had sat down next to him, and then raised his eyelids.
"Oh, you're even wearing long johns? I didn't know you were so afraid of the cold," he said with a chuckle.
"Yes, I'm afraid my legs will get frostbite, and amputation would be a real problem," Caesar replied absentmindedly.
"Uh, what are you talking about?" Leon's lips twitched.
There was still some time before class started, so Caesar sat down and began organizing the textbooks for the first lesson.
I looked up and saw Xia just walking in.
Today, in addition to wearing her winter school uniform, Xia was also wearing thick, opaque black tights. Her delicate face was slightly flushed after coming in from the cold wind outside. She was wearing a snow-white wool scarf, which accentuated her long, dark blue hair.
"Good morning, Sia. It's gotten cold today," Celia greeted her.
"Really? Actually, I think it's fine, but the housekeeper at home asked me to wear something thicker to prevent catching a cold," Xia said, taking off her thick scarf and letting out a long sigh of relief.
"Xia's constitution is really good."
Then Caesar remembered that Sia was originally from Surna, a region that is mostly at high latitudes and whose inhabitants have a high tolerance for cold.
At that moment, Tess also walked into the classroom.
Winter is also a rare season where you can have a proper reason to dress up nicely. Today, Tess wore a beret, a double-breasted wool coat with soft trim, and white furry ankle boots on top of her school uniform, giving her a very young lady-like look.
She greeted her classmates with a smile and sat down next to them.
"Phew, it's so hot!" She immediately took off her wool coat and hung it on the coat rack in the back row.
"You're wearing one coat inside and another coat outside, how can you not be hot?" Leon complained.
“What do you know? This is called layering,” Tess said, glancing at him irritably.
“Yes, yes, fashion icon Tess Wallace. Oh, by the way,” Leon said, remembering something, “Are you free this Saturday? The Lun Creek Art Museum is having an event; groups of three students can get in for free!”
"Hmm? When did you become interested in art?" Caesar asked curiously.
“Well, you have to cultivate your mind once in a while, right? And it’s free, so why not take advantage of it?” Leon said.
"How about it? Want to come along?"
“I’m busy,” Tess said, waving her hand first.
"That day is Valentine's Day, and I have plans."
Caesar and Leon both looked over in surprise.
"No, you, you already have a boyfriend?" Leon asked incredulously.
"What are you thinking? The man who can spend Valentine's Day with me hasn't been born yet," Tess said, rolling her eyes.
"Because my dad had to work that day and couldn't be with my mom, I stayed with her so she wouldn't be lonely."
“That’s nice, but it’s a bit odd to spend Valentine’s Day with your mother, isn’t it, Caesar?” Leon said.
"Uh, right?"
Caesar hesitated, realizing that it was Valentine's Day. In the past, such holidays had little to do with him; he would only remember them when he saw roses for sale on the street.
Was it a coincidence? Ita deliberately chose that day to accompany him.
If he didn't know Ita's feelings, he probably wouldn't have thought too much about it, but now that he knows Xiaolong's opinion of him, he feels that there might indeed be some problems.
“And what about you, Caesar?” Leon asked.
"Sorry, maybe next time. I had something to do that day too," Caesar said.
"Uh, you're not here with your mom too, are you?" Leon said.
“No, but I’m just spending time with my family,” Caesar said.
"Sigh, it's so nice. If my mom nagged less, I'd probably be in the mood to spend time with her. But basically every time we spend a holiday together, she just lectures me. My ears are tired of it," Leon complained.
Caesar flipped through the book, but his mind was unsettled. After a moment's hesitation, he asked, "Tess, have you heard of Mansa Holiday?"
"Oh? Caesar, why are you interested in this? Are you also a fan of Angelina?" Tess said.
"Angelina?"
“Yes, she’s a well-known stage actress in the kingdom. She’s also starred in several movies in recent years. Mansa Holiday was a movie she starred in a year ago. Because it was well-received, it was adapted into a stage play this time. She’s the lead actress in both versions,” Tess introduced.
Then a beautiful expression appeared on the girl's face: "I saw that movie a year ago, and the plot was so touching. The scene where the male and female leads reunited on the hillside at the end almost brought me to tears."
"Oh," Caesar said with a look of sudden realization, "a romance film."
"Yes, it's about Chisa, a rich heiress who runs away from home because she's unhappy with her family's doctrines. Later, she meets Nick, a young artist, on Mansa Island, and the two fall in love through a series of coincidences."
"But later, the Qisha family found out about their relationship and secretly came to find Nick, telling him Qisha's true identity. The truth was revealed: Nick was actually Qisha's father's illegitimate son!"
"Nick couldn't accept the relationship, so he cruelly left Chisa. Heartbroken, Chisa returned to her family and learned the truth, but she decided to go back and find Nick. After some twists and turns, the two reunited and decided to elope. How romantic!"
"Romantic my foot! Isn't this just incest?" Leon couldn't help but say as he listened.
"There's nothing I can do. Audiences have become quite discerning these days. If you don't come up with some gimmicky relationships, who's going to watch?" Tess said, shrugging.
"Besides, these are just entertainment and art products, not real ones, so why care so much? As long as they look good, that's enough, right Caesar?"
"Ah, yes, yes," Caesar chuckled.
"Why did you ask that?" Tess asked again, remembering something. "Nothing, just asking. I saw it in the newspaper yesterday," Caesar said.
He sighed helplessly to himself.
"Is this little dragon doing it on purpose?"
In the first math class, the teacher came in and started taking attendance, but when he called Larton's name, no one responded even after calling him two or three times.
“Teacher.” Larton’s sister, Serwyn, raised her hand.
"My brother isn't feeling well today and has already asked Ms. Taylor for leave,"
"Oh, I see." The math teacher made a note on the attendance list.
"He took leave. Could it be a cold? That guy looks pretty strong, is he really that weak?" Leon complained.
"Who knows."
During the lunch break.
Ita carried a stack of textbooks and strode toward her office.
She was in a good mood today, after all, Caesar had promised to spend Valentine's Day with her.
Valentine's Day, the two of them, this is already a date, right? It's definitely a date.
She was filled with joy, and if she weren't still outside, she would have skipped and hopped along.
But she still had to maintain her aloof and dignified persona as the head of the household. When a teacher walked by and greeted her, she immediately composed herself and gave a faint "hmm."
As she reached the office door, she noticed a short-haired girl squatting in front of the office next door.
She remembered that this seemed to be a student in her class, named Serwin.
She was squatting there, holding a stack of exercise books in her arms, looking completely dazed.
Perhaps hearing her footsteps, Seren turned around and quickly stood up upon seeing her: "Hello, Teacher Ita."
"What are you doing here?" Ita asked.
“I’m Mr. Gwen’s classroom assistant. I’ve collected yesterday’s homework, but Mr. Gwen should still be having lunch and hasn’t returned yet. I’ll wait for him here,” Serwyn said.
"Oh." Ita ignored him and nodded as she walked into the office.
But the door opened again after only two seconds, and she came out and said to Serwyn, "It's windy in the corridor, come inside and wait."
"But, won't this disturb your rest, teacher?" Serwyn asked.
“If it were troublesome, I wouldn’t have let you in,” Ita said, leaving the door open as she went back inside.
Serwyn hesitated for a moment, then said, "Sorry to bother you," and went inside.
Ita's office was quite ordinary; after all, she wasn't a full-time employee and had no interest in designing. The only thing that could be considered decoration was a blue ivy on the windowsill.
Ita turned on the heater and placed the kettle on the gas stove.
She pointed to the sofa and said to Serwyn, "Sit down. The kettle will boil soon, so make yourself some tea if you want."
“Thank you, teacher,” Serwyn said.
After giving his instructions, Ita sat down at his desk and went about his own business.
The room gradually warmed up.
Serwin sat there somewhat awkwardly, glancing out the window every now and then, then looking at his knees, and then cautiously watching Ita.
Ita noticed the persistent stare and looked up at her.
"what happened?"
“No, it’s nothing,” Serwyn quickly replied.
But she quickly added, "Exactly, I feel that although you, Teacher Ita, look petite and cute, you have such a mature air about you."
But she quickly realized her mistake and waved her hands, saying, "No, that's not what I meant. I just said that Teacher Ita's temperament is really attractive, and being a dragon is really cool. I didn't mean to say that you are short."
Ita's eye twitched. "Even at my shortest, I'm still taller than a little kid like you, okay?"
But as a teacher, she still needs to be tolerant of her students.
“Thank you for the compliment,” she replied simply.
Serwyn nervously clutched the hem of his clothes, seemingly troubled, and said, "I've always wanted to be more mature, but my brother, mom, and dad always say I'm too weak and lack my own opinions."
“It’s good that you want to change, but you’re still very young. We can take it slowly. No one will say anything if a child makes a mistake,” Ita said calmly.
She wasn't really interested in these kinds of childish worries. She wasn't as naive as them and didn't have anything in common to talk about, so she could just brush them off casually.
“But I also want to make a change right now, because…” Serwyn blushed slightly.
"I also want my brother to like me a little more."
"Ok?"
Ita, who was absentmindedly flipping through her lesson plans, immediately looked up when she heard this.
