Chapter 68 Dennis Framed
Chapter 68 Dennis Framed
After sending Lucy away, Lawson went up to the second floor of the shop.
Open the window, and the view of the main road is immediately apparent.
He found a good spot to sit and waited quietly for the actors to appear.
A dozen minutes later, Dennis Kearney and his group entered the town.
They reined in their horses, looking with some surprise at the small town that had just experienced a bloodbath but had quickly returned to order.
The streets are clean, shops are open, and although there aren't many pedestrians, things have completely returned to normal.
"It seems that this White Tiger Security Company really does have some tricks up its sleeve."
Soon, they noticed a White Tiger security team on patrol.
When the Irishmen saw that there were a few Chinese people with indifferent faces in the group, they immediately showed their undisguised disgust.
"Damn it, I knew it!"
Another henchman spat on the ground: "This damn security company actually hired Chinese thugs! Looks like it's just a third-rate little company!"
“Boss!” He turned to Dennis, frowning. “I hate the smell of Chinese people. How about we move to another town? I can’t even eat if we stay in a town with these yellow-skinned monkeys.”
"boom!"
Before Dennis could even speak, a bottle suddenly flew out of the bar next door and shattered less than a foot in front of their horses.
"Get out!"
A roar followed immediately from the bar.
Before anyone could react, a burly white man, his face flushed from drinking, staggered out carrying a broken bottle.
"You murderers, you Irish bastards, are not welcome in Strawberry Town!"
This sudden curse left Dennis and his group stunned.
Dennis, being a seasoned politician, suppressed his anger and shouted, "Sir, please show some respect. We are law-abiding American citizens! According to the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution, I have the right to walk freely on every inch of the land of the United States! You..."
"Fuck the constitution!"
The burly man completely ignored his excuses: "It was you bunch of Irish bastards who killed our mayor and sheriff!"
"Now, you bunch of spies from the gang, you dare to come back and scout the place again?"
"what?"
"A spy for the bandits?"
"Kill them!"
The burly man's roar seemed to have flipped a switch, and a large group of menacing residents rushed out from the shops, taverns, and even houses on both sides of the street.
They were carrying all sorts of weapons.
Rolling pins, pitchforks, shovels, and some people even carried horseshoes...
With murderous intent in their eyes, the crowd surrounded Dennis Kearney and his group.
"FUCK! What do you guys think you're doing?!" Dennis's men were all skilled street fighters, and they immediately gripped the handles of their guns at their waists.
"Still trying to draw your gun?"
"They are a gang!"
"Kill these Irish bastards!"
A baker slammed a whole basket of piping hot, freshly baked bread into the face of the Irishman at the front.
"FUCK YOU!" the henchman yelled as he was burned.
This retort immediately ignited a powder keg.
Someone shouted "Attack!" and the crowd surged forward as if they had gone mad.
Dennis and his dozen or so capable men were instantly overwhelmed by the angry mob.
"No...don't hit me! Let's talk this out!"
"You barbarians! Racists!"
Dennis was still trying to maintain his leader's composure, but a blacksmith gave him no chance and yanked him off his tall horse.
Immediately afterwards, seven or eight feet came kicking hard.
"We're going to beat you up, you bastard leader!"
"I sent you to scout the location!"
Dennis's men were skilled fighters, but they didn't dare to draw their guns.
If they open fire, we won't be able to leave this town alive today. Right now, there's no other way but to protect ourselves.
In the chaos, no one noticed a figure sneaking up to Dennis's frightened horses.
He quickly stuffed a package into the baggage of one of the horses, then silently disappeared into the crowd.
……
"Get out! Get out!"
"If you dare come back again, I'll break your legs!"
The riot was finally quelled only after the White Tiger Security Company's patrol team arrived late and fired warning shots.
Dennis and his group dared not linger, snatched back their horses, and fled Strawberry Town in a panic.
Outside the town, on a dirt road.
"Pooh!"
One of his men angrily spat out a mouthful of blood.
"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!"
"A bunch of savages! Utter racists! Is this Strawberry Town? Is this what fucking safe is?"
Dennis wasn't much better off.
His top hat was nowhere to be found, his hair was a mess like a bird's nest, and there were two shoe prints on his face.
He remained silent, his face ashen.
His political gamble was kicked back before it even began!
So frustrating!
Suddenly, billowing smoke and dust appeared ahead.
Dennis and his group instinctively reined in their horses.
A cavalry unit of more than fifty men was seen charging towards them in a near-charge.
The visitors were California militia members, not police officers.
They were dressed in state militia uniforms, exuding a menacing aura that sent chills down one's spine even from hundreds of meters away.
The leader was Lieutenant Buck.
Just now, a shepherd reported to his patrol that he had seen a group of suspicious-looking Irishmen riding towards Strawberry Town.
There appears to be a human head in the bag of one of the horses!
The inability to find Cross's head was driving him crazy.
Now, any clue about Irishmen and heads will make him pounce on them like a mad dog.
While Dennis and the others were noticing Buck, Buck was also keeping an eye on them.
A group of bruised and suspicious-looking Irishmen have just fled from the direction of Strawberry Town!
Buck felt a surge of hot blood rush to his head!
That's them!
Dennis had no idea that he was about to be in big trouble.
Out of politeness, he told his men to step aside and let the troublesome militiamen go first.
But Buck's cavalry suddenly stopped right in front of them.
Buck, perched high on his horse, looked down at the disheveled Irishmen and swung his large hand sharply.
"Surround these bastards!"
More than a dozen menacing state militiamen immediately dispersed, their dark gun barrels locking onto Dennis and his group from all directions.
"Sir, stop! This is a misunderstanding!"
Dennis, who could drive thousands wild on the podium, now found his words utterly inadequate for the first time.
“I am Dennis, the leader of the California Workers Party! You cannot… Ah!”
"Shut your damn stinky mouth!"
A militiaman slammed the butt of his rifle into the rump of Dennis's horse.
The warhorse reared up in pain, nearly throwing him to the ground.
The militiaman spat in Dennis's face: "Go to hell, leader! Here, you're nothing but a walking pile of Irish shit!"
"Search!"
Buck ordered, "Turn all the luggage of these bastards upside down, don't leave a single pair of underwear behind!"
