The Star Train's Journey Through the Heavens
Chapter 94 Star: Who else?
Chapter 94 Star: Who else?
“Meng Huaifeng from the Starry Sky Train, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Meng Huaifeng gently squeezed Hongkou’s fingertips, then let go.
"Galaxy Batman," Xing said proudly, looking up.
Hongkou was slightly taken aback.
"Ignore her, she's not right in the head. Her name is Xing, and mine is March 7th." March 7th offered Xing a safety net, his words so familiar yet heartbreaking.
"Zhu Zhuqing."
"It seems your Starry Sky Train, that's its name, is already self-sufficient in supplies? So you don't need to collect supplies from the outside world. You didn't even know that?" Hongkou said enviously.
"Our Star Train only has a handful of people, unlike your Lighthouse, which has tens of thousands to support," Meng Huaifeng said, downplaying the issue.
“Yes, the more people there are, the greater the pressure. However, the more people there are, the more hope there is for the future. At worst, we’ll have to work harder and run more laps on the ground,” Hong Kou said with a light laugh, completely unconcerned about how dangerous the ground was.
However, pre-disaster supplies are limited and will eventually run out. Meng Huaifeng thought to himself, and didn't say anything that would spoil the mood.
"Sister Hongkou is such a kind person," March 7th said sincerely.
"Captain Hongkou's hunting operations have always had the lowest casualty rate, whether among the upper class or the common people," Jingnan added, his eyes filled with a hint of admiration as he looked at Hongkou.
“This is my responsibility. Since I took them out, I should bring them back safely.” Hongkou’s expression fell: “Unfortunately, no matter how careful I am, some casualties are inevitable.”
"You can take me with you next time, I guarantee zero casualties," Xing assured, patting his chest.
"Oh? Is your little sister that good? Come on, let's go to the training room and practice with your older sister?" Hongkou said with some interest.
"Captain Hongkou, I suggest you don't do this," Jingnan quickly stopped her.
“Ah, that’s right. After all, they are guests of the lighthouse. It wouldn’t be good if they got hurt. I’m sorry, I didn’t think it through.” Hongkou suddenly realized.
"No, I mean, you might not be able to beat them." Jingnan mentally crossed out the word "maybe."
Hongkou looked at the four people suspiciously. They had delicate skin, slender figures, smooth skin, and no calluses on their hands. They didn't look like they had ever trained.
"Excuse my bluntness, but everyone here is trash," Xing said, hands on his hips and a disdainful look in his eyes.
"Don't say such offensive things!" Meng Huaifeng and Sanyueqi were shocked. Hadn't A-Xing already begun to understand human nature? How come she suddenly became so ruthless again?
Xing's arrogant words instantly attracted the attention of all the hunters in the distribution room.
“Young lady, I can’t pretend I didn’t hear you. Come on, let’s go practice?” one of the hunters stepped forward and said.
"Jianhua, it was just a young girl saying something casually, why are you taking it so seriously?" Po Xiao smoothed things over. The scar on his right eye not only didn't affect his looks, but it also added to his masculinity, making him even more handsome.
"Don't worry, Vice Captain, I won't go too far. I'll just teach her a lesson that there are always people more capable than you, and that there's always something beyond your understanding," the hunter named Jianhua laughed.
"Yeah, she's so arrogant. Let's see what she's really capable of," the others chimed in, eager to see what she could do.
"Come on, one-on-one or a group fight? One-on-one, I'll take on all of you by myself; a group fight, you'll all gang up on me." Some of Xing's crazy friends walked to the center of the hunters and said domineeringly.
The hunters were immediately in an uproar.
"No way, this is too arrogant. Who is she anyway?"
"Whoever she is, this is intolerable, we must teach her a lesson."
"Even if you're a woman, don't blame me for taking action."
"Hey, let her see what the real dangers of the world are like."
……
Hongkou sidled up to Meng Huaifeng, the only one among the four who seemed reliable, and asked, "I said, are you really sure it's okay? Should I call a halt?"
“No need, really no problem,” Meng Huaifeng replied.
Hongkou was still somewhat skeptical, after all, she had never seen them with her own eyes and did not know that they were comparable to superheroes.
Hongkou wasn't going to say anything about a one-on-one fight, but now she was going to take on a whole group of them. Her teammates were all seasoned veterans with excellent teamwork, and it seemed impossible for anyone to do it.
Seeing this, Meng Huaifeng stretched out his hand and gestured towards her.
Hongkou understood and extended her hand as well, and the two began to arm wrestle without any support.
No matter how hard Hongkou tried, Meng Huaifeng's hand remained completely still.
"I'm going to use my strength now," Meng Huaifeng reminded him.
Hongkou immediately held her breath and prepared herself.
However, an irresistible force pressed down like a tidal wave, and Hongkou felt her wrist bend without any power to resist.
"How about it? Xing is even better than me." Meng Huaifeng asked with a smile in his eyes.
Hongkou concealed the disbelief on her face and looked at her teammates with schadenfreude.
"These guys are always stirring up trouble and letting others see the wickedness of the world. Now it's their turn to see what the wickedness of the world really means."
Just as the atmosphere was getting lively, the staff from the supplies distribution room came over.
"What are you doing? What are you doing? This is not the place for you to fight. If you want to fight, go outside."
"Little girl, go to the training room, dare you?" Jianhua shouted.
“Go ahead, anyone who doesn’t go is a little dog,” Xing replied immediately.
A large group of people walked towards the training room.
Po Xiao approached Hong Kou somewhat indignantly and complained, "These guys are getting more and more pathetic. They actually tried to bully a little girl. Aren't they ashamed?"
Hongkou gently took Poxiao's hand and smiled, "Don't be angry, they're really going to lose face this time."
Po Xiao didn't quite understand Hong Kou's meaning, and said to Meng Huaifeng, "That little girl is your companion, right? I'm really sorry, but please rest assured, my team members are all very careful when they fight, and they will definitely not hurt her."
"I believe she won't get hurt, but we're the ones who should apologize," Meng Huaifeng said with a hint of helplessness.
With Xing's strength, he bullies a group of ordinary people without feeling ashamed.
Well, Xing has done plenty of embarrassing things, so one more won't make a difference.
Meng Huaifeng and the others didn't delay and quickly followed Xing to the lighthouse's armory.
The training room was part of the armory, and it contained all sorts of fitness equipment for people to improve their physical fitness. Those who could come to the training room were all so-called upper-class citizens.
Experienced instructors led them in practicing combat and killing techniques, and there were several arenas for practical training to improve their combat experience.
"Whoosh, whoosh."
"Is that not enough? Cheer up and do another set!"
"With your physique, you want to join the Hunters? Can you even lift a gun?"
"Keep going! Throw powerful, fast, accurate, and ruthless punches!"
……
The sounds of training and the instructors' reprimands rose and fell.
The arrival of the large group of hunters attracted the attention of everyone in the training room.
"Are these the hunters? Why are they all here?"
"I heard that someone wants to go up into the ring and have a match."
"Wow, we should take a good look. The hunters are the best among the Lighthouse crew."
Xing Yima took the lead and jumped onto the arena, waving to the hunters.
"You guys come together."
"Hey, little girl, here's your protective gear." An instructor took out a pair of protective gear and waved it at Xing.
"No need," Xing said confidently, waving her hand in refusal.
Bullying a little girl is already beneath them, let alone ganging up on her? Impossible.
"I'll go first!" Jianhua was the first to step forward and challenge Axing.
Go easy on me.
"If you lose, we'll laugh at you for the rest of our lives."
Jianhua ignored his unscrupulous friends below the ring, clenched his fists, and his bones cracked, sending chills down everyone's spines.
"Little girl, are you ready?" Jianhua asked.
“Ready? Come on,” Xing said.
"I'll let you make the first move. If you can't hold on, just admit defeat," Jianhua said with the air of a grandmaster. "You go first, though."
"No, you have to go first."
"You first."
"You first."
"Ok."
Jianhua refused to make the first move, so Xing had no choice but to slowly walk over and lightly throw a punch at Jianhua.
"That punch looked so weak, I let her use one hand... Pfft!"
Jianhua raised one hand to block in front of him, but before he could finish speaking, a tremendous force slammed his hand into his abdomen, sending him flying. He crashed into the ropes of the ring, bounced back, and knelt on the ground clutching his stomach.
The cheers, applause, and discussions from the audience immediately disappeared.
"Jianhua, how are you? What just happened?"
"No, are you kidding that girl? Such a soft, slow punch could beat you up like this? That's too fake."
A moment later, Jianhua's teammates surrounded him and began to speak.
"I...I was careless, I didn't dodge." Jianhua stood up shakily, pretending to be fine: "My stomach is a little uncomfortable, you guys do it."
"No, you're really not good enough?" his teammates said with disdain.
Jianhua remained silent. You guys have no idea what I'm facing!
"I'll go!" Xuefeng stepped onto the arena.
"boom!"
Less than three seconds later, Xuefeng knelt down in the spot where Jianhua had knelt down before.
The hunters looked at each other, something seemed amiss.
"Let's go!" Haji and Kunjie climbed onto the ring together.
"Bang! Bang!"
At roughly the same time, Haji and Kunjie knelt down on either side of the snow-capped peak.
"Who else!"
Xinghu stared intently at the other hunters.
The hunters all took a step back.
"Disperse, disperse, one-sided battles are no fun."
"I just remembered I haven't watered my flowers yet."
"I was injured earlier, I'll go to the medical room first."
……
"Wow, she's amazing! If she could teach me, I'd definitely become the leader of the hunters!" A little boy with a buzz cut who looked to be about ten years old looked at Xing on the stage with admiration.
Seeing that no one dared to fight, Xing walked off the arena somewhat bored.
While both are post-apocalyptic worlds, this one is ridiculously inferior to Beloberg in terms of sophistication.
"Sister, please teach me how to become stronger!" the little boy rushed to Xing's side and said with bright eyes.
Xing blinked. How do I become stronger? It seems like I become stronger just by playing around everywhere.
But wouldn't saying it like that be a bit lowbrow? Xing pondered, "Let me think about how to make this up."
"Mark, what are you doing?" Hongkou and Meng Huaifeng walked up to Xing and asked.
“Red Hair, this older sister is so amazing. If she’s willing to teach me, I can defeat you and become the leader of the Wilderness Hunters very quickly,” Little Mark said.
"Who is this arrogant brat?" March 7th asked Red Hair.
“My former younger brother,” Hongkou explained softly, glancing around.
"Your younger brother from before?" March 7th looked puzzled. He's not your younger brother anymore?
"The three survival rules of the Lighthouse include eliminating family relationships," Meng Huaifeng reminded.
"What kind of stupid rule is this?" March 7 muttered again.
Hongkou's eyes lit up slightly; they also felt that this survival rule was unreasonable.
"Please, sister, teach me." Little Mark took two more steps forward.
Xing finally came up with an idea and said in a serious tone, "As long as you do 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10-kilometer run every day, and don't stop, and stick to it for at least three years, you will become stronger. Of course, you still won't be as strong as me."
"Huh? It's that simple?" Little Mark suspected that the older woman was trying to fool him.
Meng Huaifeng suddenly covered his nose, frowned, and said, "What's that smell? Why does it stink so bad?"
Mark's face flushed red, and he quietly moved a few steps away.
"That's because Mark insisted on challenging me this morning, and I beat him until he shit himself, then beat him into shit, and finally beat him with his own shit, so he's covered in stench." A robust old voice rang out from not far away.
Everyone, including Red Hair, immediately moved a few steps away from Little Mark.
Meng Huaifeng looked in the direction from which the sound came and saw a robust old man with slightly gray hair walking over with a powerful stride, followed by Walter.
Mark's eyes were red with anxiety: "Damn it! Don't keep bringing up things like this, and I've already taken a shower!"
"It's probably because it's been marinated." Meng Huaifeng could easily guess that even if the lighthouse didn't lack water, it would definitely have a limited supply. It was probably impossible to take a bath like in modern peacetime.
"I...I'll go wash it again!" Little Mark, feeling a little embarrassed, hurriedly ran away.
"Uncle Yang, what brings you here? Have you finished talking? Where is Sister Ji?" Meng Huaifeng asked.
“Instructor Elon and I came to the training room to check these people’s physiques and see what training methods are suitable for them. As for Himeko, she went to help out in the research department,” Walter said.
"What did you two talk about?" Meng Huaifeng asked curiously.
"After you left, Lord Morgan told us about the difficulties facing the Lighthouse, how scarce energy was, how scarce food was, and how difficult it was to feed so many people." Walter shrugged helplessly.
"She's just playing the victim," Meng Huaifeng saw through it at a glance.
“We know, but while the Lighthouse isn’t in dire straits, it’s certainly not doing well. So Himeko and I decided to help optimize its power and energy systems and teach them a suitable cultivation method. This has nothing to do with what Morgan said or did; it’s simply for the sake of the people on the Lighthouse living better,” Walter said.
Although the main focus of the Collapse Iron Universe is on the Fate Walkers, many civilizations around the world have their own cultivation methods, such as gene enhancement, sword intent, internal energy, ninjutsu, magic, and oh, the newly added Martial Soul system.
However, their potential is limited and not very high; ultimately, they still have to follow the path of destiny.
However, it's enough for the people of this world.
“Thank you, sir. On behalf of the tens of thousands of survivors on the lighthouse, I thank you, as well as Ms. Himeko.” Red Hair, Dawn, Mirror South, and Instructor Elon bowed solemnly to Walter.
Walter did not stop them and readily accepted their thanks.
"What reward did Lord Morgan pay?" Meng Huaifeng asked.
Although the anonymous person is happy to help others and willing to lend a helping hand, he will usually charge some reward unless there are special circumstances.
Even if the compensation is far from commensurate with the help provided by the anonymous customer.
After all, even nameless people need to make a living, don't they?
"It seems like there's nothing on the lighthouse that's of any use to us," March 7 thought back to the things Jingnan had shown them.
The unintentional remark made on March 7th made the four members of the Lighthouse feel ashamed.
"It seems there's nothing to admire or play with," March 7th continued.
The four people at the lighthouse lowered their heads deeply. So, was the lighthouse really that poor in other people's eyes?
"Stop guessing, let Uncle Yang say it." Meng Huaifeng hurriedly interrupted San Yueqi, who was about to say something.
“The Lighthouse has three types of gravity bodies. Lord Morgan gave us one of each type. You can take them and play with them,” Walter said, as if coaxing a child.
Gravity bodies are considered cutting-edge technology in this world; the Lighthouse relies entirely on gravity bodies to resist the Devouring Beasts.
But in Walter's eyes, it was too outdated and worthless, though it was still good for the children to play with.
If he makes some modifications, it's not impossible for it to rival the company's mainstream mechs, which would make it somewhat useful.
Although the gravity body was insignificant in Walter's eyes, it still hurt so much that he could hardly breathe when Lord Morgan gave it to him.
However, compared to the assistance provided by Welt and Himeko, the three gravity bodies are nothing.
