Warhammer: The Time Traveler

Chapter 180 Upgrade Plan

Chapter 180 Upgrade Plan (Third Update)
"As for the plan to completely replicate the Warhammer Power Armor..." Chen Yu's metal fingers tapped lightly on the control panel, "It is indeed difficult to achieve in the short term given the industrial base of this world."

More importantly, doing so would fail to fully utilize the existing local human resources.

He slightly adjusted the focus of his optical lens and began to analyze the joint structure of the Commando-VII in detail.

"So the most reasonable solution, old friend, is to optimize based on existing technology. Retain the vehicle-type framework of this system, which will not only fit local manufacturing capabilities but also leverage their advantages in personnel training."

Chen Yu's metal fingers tapped lightly on the control panel, producing a series of crisp sounds.

“Let’s start by improving the energy system, old man.” His optical lens focused on the fission battery unit of the power armor. “This fission system is too inefficient and there’s a risk of radiation leakage.”

Design a simplified fusion core, keeping the original size the same, but increasing output power by 300% and extending continuous combat time by five times.

The servo skull emitted a steady hum: "Command received. Fusion core miniaturization scheme being invoked."

"The cooling system also needs to be upgraded at the same time," Chen Yu added, "using liquid metal circulation cooling to ensure stability under high power output."

His gaze shifted to the power armor's armor section. "Secondly, the existing titanium-ceramic composite layer is insufficient in terms of protection. We need to apply a specially treated reinforced alloy coating to critical areas." Chen Yu emphasized, "It doesn't need to meet the standards of Space Marine armor; it's enough to effectively withstand most armor-piercing munitions and low-yield explosives of this era."

"The reinforced alloy coating scheme is being developed. The material requirements list has been compiled," the servo skull responded mechanically.

Chen Yu's fingertip moved to the weapon system diagram of the power armor.

"Third, while their existing live-fire weapons and missiles are quite powerful, the logistical burden is too great. We should equip them with a lightweight laser cannon as their main weapon, while retaining the original physical weapon interfaces and missile pods."

"Laser weapon integration scheme calculation in progress. Energy distribution circuit replanning." The eye beam of the servo skull moved following Chen Yu's instructions.

“However…” Chen Yu paused briefly, “These improvements will be implemented in stages. The first batch of upgrade packages will only include the two most core improvements.”

He pulled up a schematic diagram of the brand-new design scheme.

"The first batch of improvements focuses on energy and basic protection. A simplified fusion core is paired with a weakened version of the kinetic shield generator," Chen Yu explained in detail. "The shield doesn't need to be strong enough to withstand plasma cannon fire; it only needs to deflect fragments and withstand small arms fire, which will greatly improve battlefield survivability."

"The shield generator miniaturization scheme has been initiated, and the energy core load test has passed," the Servo Skull reported.

"Designate this preliminary improvement plan as the first phase of the 'Foe-I' power armor upgrade kit," Chen Yu confirmed. "Send the technical drawings and production requirements to the military technology department, and they will coordinate resources for trial production."

We clearly informed them that we needed a batch of test models for the upcoming real-world evaluation.

"Information packaging complete, encrypted link established. Transmission to designated military technology receiving node commencing." The servo skull smoothly executed the commands.

Chen Yu stared at the data transmission progress bar, already planning the second phase of improvements in his mind.

The optimization of the neural connectivity system and weapon system can be carried out later. The most important thing now is to let these power armors prove the value of the basic improvement plan on the battlefield.

After finalizing the initial improvement plan for the power armor, Chen Yu shifted some of his attention away from the specific technical parameters.

His sensory network quietly extended, transmitting distant scenes and sounds back in real time through sensor nodes deployed around the abandoned town.

On the makeshift training ground on the edge of the abandoned town, the scene was busy yet orderly. Several Assault Team-VII power armors, freshly unloaded from transport vehicles, stood on the sand, their gray-black armor gleaming dullly in the afternoon sun.

The soldiers of the Ghost Hounds appeared extremely small next to these steel giants. They were divided into several groups and, under the guidance of technical advisors sent by the military technology department, were familiarizing themselves with the basic operation of these new equipment.

The engines of heavy transport vehicles roared intermittently, kicking up clouds of dust on the dry ground.

The soldiers' commands, the hissing of the power armor's hydraulic system during testing, and the crisp sound of tools striking metal all blended together, creating a busy atmosphere unique to the pre-battle period.

Chen Yu's sensor is focused on the center of the field.

There, a squad commander from the Lhasa Road mercenaries was demonstrating basic tactical maneuvers in power armor to Colonel Hansen.

The three-meter-tall steel body performed a standard tactical maneuver under the commander's skillful operation, its mechanical feet landing heavily on the ground, leaving deep imprints.

Colonel Hansen looked up at the war machine, his single eye slightly narrowed, his gaze following the movements of the power armor.

That gaze held both an instinctive desire for powerful force and a careful consideration of the current complex situation.

He would occasionally raise his hand to gesture, exchanging brief words with the Lhasa Road commander.

Chen Yu subtly adjusted the focus of his crimson optical lens to record these details one by one.

These soldiers and this equipment will soon become his window into observing the warfare patterns of this era, and also a testing ground for validating his technological improvement plans.

Meanwhile, the Arasaka carrier battle group, the Mokujiro, was approaching at sea, just as intelligence indicated, carrying with it the fury of revenge and their elite power armor units.

"Real combat is the best testing ground." Chen Yu's synthesized voice echoed softly in the empty workshop, his calm tone devoid of any emotion, reflecting only a pure pursuit of data and efficiency. "Let me see for myself how effective the power armor upgraded with the 'Fanghound' kit, and the army of this world, can be against opponents of the same level."

His gaze swept over the two holographic projections displayed side by side on the main control panel: one side showed real-time satellite images of the Arasaka White Whale aircraft carrier, and the other side showed a deployment prediction map of military technology units.

A formal battle, far exceeding the scale of street clashes, which he indirectly facilitated, is brewing on the outskirts of Night City.

He, on the other hand, was at the center of this storm, calmly preparing to collect all valuable data—including the process and outcome of the war itself.

Inside the workshop, the rhythmic scanning sound of the servo skull and the faint hum of the equipment formed a constant background noise.

The improvement plan has been issued, and now we are just waiting for feedback from military technology experts and for the test samples to arrive.

Chen Yu's massive body turned back to the main control panel. The complex calculations of the dimensional teleporter still took the highest priority, but the data streams about the power armor improvements and the upcoming war also got a stable background process in his processing core.

For an explorer, observing and understanding the forms of warfare in an unfamiliar world is itself an important part of accumulating valuable knowledge.

The upcoming conflict will provide a wealth of firsthand observational data.
