Chapter 97 Habit
Banni, who was being supported by Ulanhaisang, had no idea that he probably wasn't even born yet at that time.

"Brother Yang!"

Maiduo's clear voice rang out: "Brother Yang! Sister Hongkou and the others are here!"

Everyone's attention was instantly drawn to it.

Hongkou and Poxiao followed behind Maiduo, quickly passing through the onlookers and heading towards the village entrance.

Hongkou's face still held a trace of bewilderment from being hastily pulled away by Maiduo.

However, when her gaze passed over the crowd, it landed on the group of weary, trembling lighthouse visitors.

And finally, the focus was on Benny, who was leaning on a simple frame, looking emaciated but with incredibly excited eyes.

That moment of bewilderment froze instantly, then was replaced by unbelievable shock and raging anger.

"Benny?!" Red Hair exclaimed, her steps abruptly halting.

Almost at the same moment that Red Hair recognized Benny, an unprecedented light shone in Benny's eyes.

He seemed to forget his leg disability and the support system that was holding him up, and pushed away Ulanhaisang, who was helping him.

"Captain!!!" came a hoarse voice.

Benny lost his balance and fell heavily to his knees on the hard ground with a thud.

He looked up at Hongkou and Po Xiao, his voice trembling with tears: "Captain Hongkou! Lieutenant Po Xiao! It's you! It really is you! You're really still alive!"

He was incoherent, only able to repeat the titles "captain" and "adjutant" over and over again, and finally, tears rolled down his cheeks and fell into the dust.

Ulanhaisang was pushed and stumbled. After regaining his balance, he looked at Benny, who was kneeling on the ground and crying, scratched his bald head, and did not go forward again.

Dawn was also shocked and rushed forward to help Benny up: "Benny?! How could you..."

Hongkou's face had gone from shock to ashen.

As she looked at Benny kneeling before her, looking utterly disheveled, Morgan's seemingly dignified yet cold face came vividly to mind.

Clearly! Morgan had promised himself that he would do everything in his power to save Benny! He would save his life!
And what was the result? His so-called "doing his best" and "preserving" meant throwing a soldier who had bled and sweated for the lighthouse and lost both legs off the lighthouse like trash, euphemistically calling it a "long journey".
"Brother!" Mai Duo's clear voice broke the heavy yet exciting scene.

Like a cheerful little bird, she was completely unaffected by the adults' emotions and flew towards Ulanhaisang, who was standing to the side.

"Hey! Maido!" Hai Sang's face instantly broke into a bright smile.

He bent down, caught his sister who was rushing towards him, picked her up and spun her around, making Maido giggle.

"Look! I brought you a gift, do you like it?" Hai Sang magically pulled out a somewhat worn-out little bird doll from his back and presented it to Mai Duo like a treasure.

Although the doll is old, its design is very cute.

"I love it!" Maido's eyes sparkled as she answered loudly without hesitation, hugging the little bird doll tightly to her chest.

Yang Chen stood aside, taking in everything.

He saw Benny kneeling before Red Hair.

He shook his head silently, his gaze falling on the somewhat dirty doll in Maiduo's arms.

He reached out and gently touched the doll with his fingertips.

A barely perceptible soft blue light instantly enveloped the bird doll.

The next moment, the dust and wear marks on the doll seemed to be wiped away.

The fluffy and soft texture returned to its original softness, and the color became as bright as ever, as if it had just been taken out of a shop window.

Maiduo felt the change in her arms, looked down, and exclaimed "Wow!" in surprise.

He held the doll up to the sunlight and exclaimed, "Brother Yang! It looks brand new! Amazing!"

Yang Chen smiled, ruffled Mai Duo's hair, and then turned his gaze to Hong Kou and Po Xiao, who were still immersed in huge emotional fluctuations, as well as Benny, who was kneeling on the ground and sobbing uncontrollably.

His voice was steady: "Alright, the person is now in your hands. Take him to Village Number Two."

Hongkou nodded: "I understand, Mr. Yang."

She helped Benny up, her gaze falling on his broken leg.

"Mr. Yang, could you... get Benny's leg..."

Yang Chen understood Hong Kou's meaning, removed the simple prosthetic limb, and then put his hand on Benny's shoulder.

His legs recovered quickly, and the original injuries were also completely healed.

"Holy shit." Benny looked at his legs in disbelief.

"Alright, I'm leaving now, I have something to do later." Yang Chen said before leaving.

"Captain, what's going on?" Benny glanced at Yang Chen's back, then turned his gaze back to Hong Kou and Po Xiao.

"I'll tell you on the way," Hongkou patted Benny on the shoulder, then looked at the old man lying on the ground.

"This is.?"

Benny explained it to Red in a low voice.

After hearing what Benny said, Red Bloom sighed helplessly. She and Dawn walked into the crowd and apologized to everyone.

Juexing and the villagers had a good impression of Hongkou and her companion, and since they had already taught them a lesson, they let Hongkou take them away.

As Yang Chen pushed open the door, a faint woody fragrance mixed with a hint of moisture wafted towards him.

The living room was empty; only the sound of running water could be heard from the direction of the bathroom.

His gaze habitually swept towards the bedroom, and sure enough, he saw several pieces of clothing haphazardly draped on the bed.

A white training vest, a pair of black shorts, and a close-fitting bra were casually tossed at the foot of the bed.

It was obvious that the owner just took it off and threw it away without thinking about folding it properly or putting it in the laundry basket.

Yang Chen shook his head helplessly. As he walked toward the bedroom, he raised his voice and said, "Yuekui, I'm back."

Bai Yuekui's voice came through the door: "Okay, I'll be done soon."

"Mm," Yang Chen replied, having already walked to the bedside and bent down to start tidying up the pile of clothes.

He picked up the white vest; it was slightly damp to the touch and carried her unique fragrance.

“I said Yue Kui…” Yang Chen couldn’t help but speak towards the bathroom as he picked up the last piece of clothing.

"When are you going to change this habit of leaving your clothes lying around? You always do it like this."

The sound of running water came from the bathroom, as if Bai Yuekui was rinsing off the soap.

Her voice came through the water clearly, and she spoke with conviction.

"What does it matter? You'll clean it up for me anyway."

He resignedly put the clothes into the laundry basket.

Just as I straightened up, the bathroom door lock clicked softly.

The door was opened a crack, and warm steam carrying the fresh scent of shower gel rushed out first.

Bai Yuekui appeared behind the door, wrapped in a large white bath towel, her wet, silvery-white short hair still dripping water droplets.

Wrapped in a bath towel, her slender collarbone and long, straight calves were revealed.

She walked out, casually drying her hair with a towel; water droplets slid down her smooth neck and disappeared into the edge of the towel.

Her exquisitely beautiful face still bore a faint blush from the steaming hot water, and her clear eyes looked at Yang Chen.

"Is everything packed up?" She glanced at the clothes that had disappeared from the bed.

"Hmm." Yang Chen watched as Bai Yuekui sat down beside him and reached out to take the towel from her hand.

"Let me do it."

Bai Yuekui let go of her hand and allowed Yang Chen to take the towel and gently wipe her wet hair.

She comfortably squinted her eyes slightly, like a cat being stroked.

"Hmm, are there many people who need to unleash their potential this time?" She looked up at him.

"Not much."

Bai Yuekui responded with an "oh" and enjoyed Yang Chen's service.

In the blink of an eye, she saw the clothes in the laundry basket.

"No rush, you can wash my clothes first," Bai Yuekui said, pointing to the clothes he had just called down.

"No, go wash it yourself."

Upon hearing this, Bai Yuekui's eyes narrowed slightly, a sly smile playing on his lips.

She didn't say anything, but suddenly turned around, pushed herself up with both hands, and pounced on Yang Chen, pressing him onto the bed with the damp heat of her fresh shower.

The towel wasn't tied very tightly to begin with, and with this tug and press, the tie came loose and most of it slipped down, revealing her smooth shoulders and back and her fair, jade-like skin.

She leaned closer, her nose almost touching Yang Chen's cheek.

"To wash or not to wash?"

Her warm breath brushed against Yang Chen's neck. He raised his hand and pressed down on her shoulder, saying helplessly.

"Stop fooling around, it's still broad daylight."

Instead of getting up, she took advantage of the situation and leaned closer to him: "So you're not going to wash?"

"Wait until we get back tonight to wash it." Yang Chen held her restless hand.

"I have other things to take care of later, so don't keep them waiting."

Bai Yuekui stared at him for a few seconds, then suddenly chuckled, straightened up, and gathered the towel that had slipped off.

"Okay, it's up to you."
