Chapter 3 Departure
Ulan Aodeng stood with his arms crossed at the restaurant entrance, and immediately went to greet Yang Chen when he came out.

"I initially thought Hai Sang and the others were just slacking off from training," he said gruffly.

Yang Chen glanced back at the restaurant window, and Ulan Haisang, who had been spotted, immediately ducked back. "Haisang didn't tell you?" Yang Chen turned back. "The three of them kept pestering me yesterday that they wanted to go out and have a look around."

"Yes, I guessed it when I saw you here." Ulan Aodeng nodded, a rare hint of warmth appearing on his serious face. "My darling's birthday is coming up soon. Hai Sang, that kid, is probably trying to go out and find a decent gift."

My darling?

Yang Chen immediately realized that he was referring to his youngest daughter, Ulan Maiduo, who should be six years old this year.

"I see..." Yang Chen nodded knowingly. Although there were stalls selling trinkets in Dragon Bone Village, Hai Sang's insistence on going out clearly indicated that he wanted to find something more special.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of you, nothing will happen," Yang Chen assured him.

"Hmm." Ulan Aodeng responded, his large hand clenching tightly, his knuckles making a clear "crack" sound, his eyes suddenly turning "fierce," "If the thing we find doesn't satisfy my darling... I'll train that kid to death!"

Seeing this burly man instantly transform into a doting father, Yang Chen could only laugh helplessly.

They're both biological children, but the treatment they receive is worlds apart.

“Maido is so sensible, she’ll like anything I give her,” Yang Chen said with a smile.

Sure enough, those words struck a nerve with Ulan Aodeng. He tried his best to keep a straight face, but the corners of his mouth involuntarily turned up, and the feigned "fierceness" vanished instantly, leaving only the pride of a father.

"Alright, I'll head back now. Those kids will definitely be slacking off again if I don't keep an eye on them." Ulan Aodeng waved his hand and turned to walk back.

"Okay, see you later." Yang Chen waved back, turned around, and pushed open the door to enter the restaurant.

The dishes were already on the table, and Tasia and Fang Yuan were enjoying their meal. Only Ulan Haisang was secretly observing Yang Chen.

Seeing his expression, Yang Chen knew what he was thinking: "Don't worry, your dad didn't object."

"Great! It was definitely the right decision to ask Brother Yang!"

Having received the answer he wanted, Ulanhaisang was no longer worried and began to seriously enjoy the food in front of him.

Perhaps because it was their first time going out, the three children seemed very excited and quickly finished off all the food on the table.

Yang Chen led the three to the supply station, where the staff of Dragon Bone Village were immediately organizing the supplies.

"Boss Yang is here."

A staff member spotted the group and immediately greeted them. Then, glancing at the three children behind Yang Chen, he asked, "Are you taking them out on a mission?"

"Go out and look for supplies, see if there's anything new," Yang Chen replied with a smile.

"I see." The staff member nodded, then suddenly remembered something: "The Awakened Walkers who went out to explore a couple of days ago also discovered a new place."

"There is an old world supply warehouse 732 kilometers to the northwest, but when they went there last time, there were still Devouring Beasts there, and quite a few of them."

732 kilometers

Yang Chen pondered for a moment: "Okay, prepare a vehicle for me, I'll go take a look."

"Okay." Seeing that Yang Chen was about to go, the staff immediately jogged to prepare the vehicle.

"Is this our first mission and we're going to fight the Devouring Beasts?!" Ulan Haisang looked at Yang Chen with anticipation, his eyes seemingly sparkling.

Before Yang Chen could speak, Fang Yuan, standing behind Wulan Haisang, elbowed him without hesitation: "Fight the Devouring Beast? You haven't even awakened your Origin Essence potential yet, are you going to throw your Origin Essence away?"

“What’s there to be afraid of…” Wulan Haisang muttered, rubbing his sore ribs. “Isn’t Brother Yang here…” “They only discovered Devouring Beasts a couple of days ago. Maybe those things have already gone somewhere else.” Yang Chen said with a smile, “If there are Devouring Beasts, you can just stay in the car and maintain your Return to Origin state.”

Just as Yang Chen and the others were talking, the staff had already prepared the vehicle.

"Boss Yang! The vehicle is ready!" A staff member waved to Yang Chen from a distance.

"Let's go."

Yang Chen waved his hand, and the three children behind him stopped playing and quickly followed Yang Chen.

A black SUV was parked at the entrance of the supply station. The vehicle was a modified Old World vehicle with an additional cargo compartment for loading supplies. The words "For Transport Team Only" were painted on the door.

Yang Chen got into the driver's seat, and the three children opened the car door and climbed in.

"Fasten your seatbelts," Yang Chen said, turning around before starting the car.

He pressed the start button, and the bright headlights illuminated the dark passage ahead. He drove the modified off-road vehicle along the passage toward the main entrance in the distance.

732 kilometers, that's not a short distance.
"Sit tight."

A blue light, visible only to Yang Chen, emanated from his body and instantly enveloped the entire vehicle.

Om-!
Just as the blue light enveloped the entire car, a powerful push made the three children press tightly against the seat backs.

[The agile rabbit lets you transcend time]
Having lived in this world for so many years, Yang Chen has become increasingly proficient in mastering the twelve talismans within his body.

Yang Chen directly applied the speed granted by the Rabbit Talisman to the vehicle, and at this speed, it would only take about half an hour to reach the destination.

"Too, too—fast!" Ulan Haisang pressed himself tightly against the backrest, his voice drawn out as he shouted with a ferocious expression.

Tasia on the right was in the same state as him, while Fang Yuan looked excited.

This feeling reminded her of her previous internship at the amusement park's shielding tower.

The high speed, the intense feeling of weightlessness, and the rapidly changing scenery outside the window all excited Fang Yuan.

"Whoosh—!" she couldn't help but cheer, her voice still clear despite the loud wind noise, "Explorer! Takeoff—!"

Yang Chen gripped the steering wheel firmly, his eyes sharp. The Rabbit Talisman would grant its holder super-fast power, as well as matching quick reflexes. At this moment, the vehicle's speed appeared normal to him.

Several tens of minutes later, Yang Chen's mind stirred slightly, and the blue light covering the entire car quietly receded like the receding tide.

The violent, throbbing sensation suddenly vanished.

"Ugh..." Ulan Haisang let out a groan as if he had just survived a disaster, slumped in his seat and gasped for breath, feeling as if all the bones in his body had fallen apart.

"Ugh..." Tasia cautiously raised her head, her brows furrowed slightly, and a faint blue light emanated from her body.

"Wow..." Fang Yuan let out a long breath, still feeling a sense of excitement, his eyes still shining. "We've...we've arrived at the station?"

Fang Yuan leaned closer to the window and looked outside.

A desolate, lifeless wasteland appeared before them. Compared to the scene before them, the scenery around Dragonbone Village was simply beautiful.

"We've arrived. Please stay in the car and remain in your normal state."

Yang Chen turned to look at the three children and suddenly noticed that Talia was surrounded by a blue halo.

Is this source material flowing?
Talia awakened her potential at this moment!?
