Chapter 186 Going Down to the Ground to Gain Knowledge
"It's healed... my leg is healed!"
"My hand! My hand can move again!"
Exclamations of surprise and delight rose and fell.
Many people knelt down and kowtowed in Yang Chen's direction, only to be quickly helped up by the Guiyuan warriors beside them.
Yang Chen looked at the scene before him, but his heart was not greatly stirred.
For him, it was just a simple matter of lending a helping hand.
But for those struggling to survive under the harsh laws of the Lighthouse and suffering from illness, this is undoubtedly a miracle.
"Tsk, you've got it again." Bai Yuetian's teasing voice rang out from the side.
Just then, another group of people descended from the direction of the lifting platform.
Leading the group was Dr. Carrie, followed by several people in Lighthouse Medical uniforms and some technicians who were allowed to disembark.
Dr. Carrie practically ran this way the moment her feet touched the ground.
She stared intently at Yang Chen, her gaze seemingly trying to dissect him from head to toe.
"You... how did you do that?! Is this considered source potential? This is simply... this is..."
She struggled for a long time but couldn't find the right words to describe this ability to instantly cure so many difficult and complicated diseases.
Yang Chen looked at Carrie, who was almost in a frenzied state of research, and rubbed his temples with a headache.
“Dr. Carrie, welcome to the ground.” He tried to steer the conversation back on track.
"You and your medical team have come at the right time. There are still many people here who need follow-up nutritional conditioning and health monitoring. You can also help with these tasks."
But Carrie clearly didn't take his words to heart; her entire mind was still absorbed in the "miracle" that Yang Chen had just performed.
"Tell me the principle! Even just a little bit! What is the mechanism of this healing ability? Is it the form of energy? Or the source potential you are researching?" Carrie pressed on, following closely beside Yang Chen.
Yang Chen was forced to take a half step back by her enthusiasm and was feeling a headache when Dr. Carrie's burning gaze inadvertently swept over Bai Yuetian, who was standing to Yang Chen's side and behind.
Upon seeing this, the question she was about to ask abruptly stopped.
“Lord Gray…Lord Gray?! You…you’re here…”
Before she could finish speaking, Bai Yuetian rolled her eyes impatiently and interrupted her irritably, "What the hell are you talking about! Look carefully, who is this so-called Lord Gray!"
Carrie was stunned by his rude and disdainful tone. Upon closer inspection, she realized that the man in front of her was younger than when Lord Grey was taken away, and his temperament, demeanor, and even the tone of his voice were completely different.
The person in front of me... exudes an air of nonchalance that says, "Don't bother me."
Yes, Red Heron mentioned that Lord Gray's body originally belonged to them, so it seems that the one in front of us is the rightful owner.
But when Carrie saw Bai Yuetian, her first thought was still Grey.
“Who are you?” Carrie asked hesitantly.
"My name is Bai Yuetian."
Bai Yuetian, who also has the surname Bai, is probably related to Bai Yuekui.
Honglu also came over at this moment. Seeing this scene, she confirmed with Carrie, "Dr. Carrie, this is Bai Yuetian, Boss Bai's brother. He is the original owner of this body."
Dr. Carrie nodded blankly, her gaze sweeping back and forth between Bai Yuetian and Yang Chen, feeling that her understanding had been repeatedly refreshed today.
Bai Yuetian clicked his tongue, too lazy to pay any more attention, and turned to Yang Chen, saying, "You deal with it yourself."
"Red Heron, take me to the lighthouse."
Dr. Carrie's gaze still unconsciously followed Bai Yuetian's back, but her researcher's instincts quickly took over, and her burning gaze was once again firmly locked onto Yang Chen, clearly not intending to let him go.
Seeing this, Yang Chen immediately raised his voice and shouted to the several figures who were busy not far away: "Tianlai! Xiahua! Jiuge! You guys come here for a second!"
Xia Tian came over upon hearing the sound and saw the woman beside Yang Chen.
He put away his needles and walked over.
Xia Hua put down the herbs she was sorting, wiped her hands, and followed.
The group in front of Jiu Ge consisted entirely of women who had come down from the lighthouse. After hearing Yang Chen's call, they frowned slightly, but still stepped forward.
Dr. Yang Chenjiali introduced, "Dr. Jiali, these people are all familiar with medical and life research in our Longgu Village."
He first pointed to Xia Tianlai: "Xia Tianlai is proficient in Heluo medicine and has an extremely profound and unique understanding of the human body's meridians and the essence of life."
Then, pointing to Xia Hua, he said, "This is Xia Hua, Tianlai's daughter."
Finally, his gaze fell on Jiu Ge: "That's Jiu Ge. Her source potential can accelerate cell proliferation and achieve extraordinary repair."
After the introductions were finished, Yang Chen shrugged at Carrie:
“Dr. Carrie, if you have any questions, you can ask them after you’ve shown it to these people.”
The three nodded to each other in greeting.
Carrie looked at the three "ground medical experts" with very different temperaments in front of her, especially lingering on Jiu Ge for a few more seconds, and finally managed to suppress her questioning of Yang Chen.
She nodded: "Okay, I understand. We'll address the public's medical needs first."
She turned to the somewhat bewildered Lighthouse Medical team she had brought and quickly gave them a few instructions, telling them to get involved in basic diagnosis and record-keeping.
However, her eyes kept glancing, almost imperceptibly, in the direction of Jiu Ge.
Wine Song seemed to sense the persistent probing gaze. After treating the minor scratches on the last female resident of the lighthouse, she gestured for the next one to wait and then walked straight toward Carrie.
Carrie's eyes lit up when she saw Jiuge approaching.
Jiuge stopped in front of Jiali without saying a word, but suddenly raised his hand and pulled out a sharp knife from somewhere.
Before Carrie could react, a flash of light appeared, and a thin, long cut was swiftly made on the back of her bare hand.
"Hiss!" Carrie gasped in pain, staring in astonishment at the beads of blood seeping from the back of her hand.
"what are you doing?!"
With a blank expression, Jiu Ge put away the knife and gestured to Carrie, asking her to bend down slightly.
Carrie clutched her injured hand, both surprised and suspicious, but driven by intense curiosity, she still bowed slightly as instructed.
The next moment, Jiuge leaned closer and, to Carrie's astonishment, gently pressed his soft lips to her forehead.
A warm sensation spread from the point of contact, flowing throughout Carrie's entire body.
She felt a tingling sensation on the back of her hand. Looking down, she saw that the cut that had been bleeding was healing rapidly at a speed visible to the naked eye. In just two or three seconds, it was completely healed, without leaving a single scar, as if she had never been injured.
Carrie touched her unharmed hand in disbelief, muttering to herself, "This...this is the potential of the source? Directly accelerating cell division and tissue regeneration? And the transmission method is...a kiss?"
Jiuge straightened up and looked at the shocked Carrie: "My potential lies in creating electromagnetic fields in the prefrontal cortex, cerebellum, and cerebrum."
"Sister Hongkou told me about your so-called Three Laws, but we don't quite understand them."
“Emotions are both our weakness and our source of strength.” She paused, looking into Carrie’s inquisitive eyes, and continued, “If you want to know, I can tell you how to try to sense and stimulate… that energy that lies deep within the human body and is not easily detected, when we have some free time later.”
Carrie suddenly looked up.
The words of the wine song, and the "extraordinary restoration" she personally experienced, opened a whole new door for her.
She nodded vigorously and replied eagerly, "Okay! It's a deal! Please tell me the details after you're done here!"
