Chapter 184 Awkward
Yang Chen and Bai Yuekui returned to Dragon Bone Village. It was late at night, and most of the village was quiet, with only a few scattered lights and the figures of patrolling Guiyuan warriors.

In the open space in front of their house, the figures of Xiao Yuekui and Maiduo playing were no longer visible, only the warm and bright light emanating from their window.

"Looks like Xiao Kui got tired of playing and your brother took him home," Yang Chen said, looking at the window.

Bai Yuekui nodded slightly. The two pushed open the door and saw Bai Yuetian sprawled on the living room sofa, holding a game controller. Hearing the noise, he just lazily raised his eyelids.

"You're back?" Bai Yuetian said casually, his fingers still moving. "Xiao Kui was tired from playing. He came back, washed up, and fell asleep as soon as he hit the bed. He's probably dreaming right now."

"Mm," Bai Yuekui responded, then walked to the side and poured himself a glass of water.

Yang Chen sat down next to Bai Yuetian and rubbed his temples.

Although Bai Yuetian seemed focused on the game, he kept an eye on the two of them out of the corner of his eye.

He continued working, asking, "Is everything alright at the lighthouse? Nothing major has happened?"

"Not bad," Yang Chen said succinctly. "Some of the personnel have been transferred, and Honglu and Drake are in charge of the follow-up. Those who resisted have been dealt with."

Bai Yuetian paused, and the sound effect of a character dying came from the game.

He put down the controller, sat up straighter, and glanced between Yang Chen and Bai Yuekui: "Where's Gray? Is he dead?"

Yang Chen picked up the water glass that Bai Yuekui handed him and took a sip: "Grey... according to them, he resigned and went to the ground a long time ago, or maybe he's dead."

Bai Yuetian raised an eyebrow and clicked his tongue: "Alright then."

He then asked, "And what about my adopted daughter?"

"Gone."

"What about the adopted grandson?"

"That's good. What, you want to see him?"

Upon hearing Yang Chen's reply, Bai Yuetian pursed his lips and said, "Let's talk about it tomorrow. Since you're back, I'm leaving."

Although they are genetically related, Bai Yuetian felt uncomfortable just thinking about what Gray did with his original body.

As he spoke, he stood up and, without waiting for Yang Chen and Bai Yuekui's response, swayed out the door, closing it behind him.

The room suddenly became quiet.

Bai Yuekui and Yang Chen entered the bedroom and gently pushed open the door.

On the soft bed, Xiao Yuekui was sleeping soundly, her small body curled up, one hand clutching the corner of the blanket.

Bai Yuekui stepped forward, pulled the blanket up to cover her exposed shoulders, and brushed his fingertips through the soft wisps of hair on her forehead.

Yang Chen stood at the door, watching this scene, and said in a low voice, "I'm going to Jiuchuan to tell my parents about the situation here, so they won't worry about Xiao Kui."

Bai Yuekui turned his head and nodded to him: "Okay, go ahead."

Without further delay, Yang Chen's figure flickered and he disappeared from the room.

When he returned from Hisakawa City, the night was already quite deep.

He pushed open the bedroom door and found that Bai Yuekui had also gotten into bed at some point, lying on his side with his arm gently wrapped around the sleeping Xiao Yuekui. His breathing was steady, and he was obviously asleep as well.

Silver-white hair was spread out on the pillow, intertwining with the little girl's jet-black hair.

Yang Chen paused at the door for a moment, looking at the sisters sleeping in each other's arms on the bed.

He couldn't help but feel a little helpless.

The bed wasn't small, but I wasn't comfortable joining it.

He turned around and looked at the sofa in the living room. It seemed like he could only make do with the sofa for one night, but he really couldn't muster any interest in it.

After a moment's thought, he made up his mind.

His figure blurred again, and using the power of the talisman, he appeared inside the still-floating lighthouse in the next moment. At this time, most of the lighthouse was empty and silent.

Yang Chen's figure appeared in the empty passageway inside the lighthouse, heading towards the brightly lit central area.

From afar, one could see Honglu and Drake standing at the entrance of the armory. Several Guiyuan warriors were counting and registering the boxes of weapons and ammunition they had just seized, and then neatly stacking them in the designated area for guarding by a designated person.

The air was filled with the aroma of heated food, not particularly enticing, but enough to whet the appetite of a hungry person.

In the open space not far away, the dust people lined up in a long queue, receiving their evening's meals from several large buckets that had been temporarily set up.

Besides the fresh fruits, vegetables and meats that Yang Chen brought up during the day, which were given priority to the weak, the lighthouse's own food reserves were still being consumed.

Yang Chen's arrival caused a slight commotion.

When the people in line saw him, they instinctively lowered their heads or cast respectful glances, automatically making way for him.

They had witnessed or heard firsthand the inhuman power displayed by this ground leader, as well as the fresh supplies he brought.

The Dust People have no attachment to the lighthouse; if the ground weren't currently too small to accommodate so many people, they would have gone down there long ago.

Yang Chen ignored the stares and walked straight to Honglu and Drake.

His gaze swept over the dust people who were receiving food, and then glanced at a warehouse that had just been opened next to him.

Besides boxes of nutritional paste, there were also some well-packaged, vacuum-packed steaks (which would be considered luxury items by today's standards) and several bottles of red wine with worn labels piled up in the corner of the warehouse.

"Heh." Yang Chen chuckled lightly, "It looks pretty good, life at the lighthouse."

Following his gaze, Honglu explained, "These are... special supplies for the city lord."

Yang Chen curled his lip and threw the steaks back into the box: "Take them all out, it's an extra meal tonight. Let everyone have a taste, especially theirs."

He pointed to the line of dusty people, "They probably don't even know what this stuff tastes like."

Upon hearing this, Drake adjusted his glasses, had no objections, and immediately gave instructions to the Returning Origin Warrior beside him.

Soon, the sealed steaks and red wine were brought out, causing an even bigger commotion and whispers.

There is a huge difference between being alive, being well-fed, and eating well. At this moment, Yang Chen's status in the hearts of the common people has reached its peak.

"Boss, this..." she couldn't help but speak up.

"The quantity is small, I'm afraid..."

"It's alright," Yang Chen interrupted her. "Let's get started. I'll go get some more supplies."

After Yang Chen finished speaking, his figure flashed again and disappeared directly from inside the lighthouse.

In a short while, he reappeared in front of everyone, and behind him, more than a dozen huge sealed boxes bearing the logo of Jiuchuan City appeared out of nowhere.

"Open all of these," Yang Chen gestured to the Guiyuan warriors waiting nearby.

The soldiers immediately stepped forward and deftly pried open the box lid.

The box contained various supplies neatly stacked.

Vacuum-packed meats and vegetables, bags of rice and flour, and even individually wrapped candies and pastries.

Honglu understood that Yang Chen's actions were far more effective than any harsh command or impassioned speech.

The sound of swallowing saliva rose from the crowd, and pairs of eyes were fixed on the boxes.

Some of them had been lucky enough to receive a small amount of food from the ground during the day, and that brief but intense taste experience was etched into their very bones.
“This is what people should eat…” an elderly man from the dusty village standing in the front row murmured to himself.

Yang Chen stood aside without saying anything more, only nodding to Honglu and Drake.

"You've all worked so hard here. We need to complete the integration as soon as possible; the village expansion also requires manpower."
