Chapter 140 Mana Primary Body
The warmth of the food still lingered in their stomachs as the group left the cozy cottage and headed towards Ecological Base No. 3.

Yang Chen drove the whole way, which gave Bai Jingyu a good look at everything around him.

After entering the ecological base.

Bai Jingyu followed silently behind his children and Yang Chen, his gaze sweeping over the laboratories and isolation observation windows they passed along the way.

He saw people in white lab coats working busily, and complex data flashing on the screens of sophisticated instruments.

Seeing the various, even bizarre, Devouring Beast samples in the culture tanks... the hardware conditions here far exceeded his expectations.

In a world where the basic industrial system has been completely destroyed, building such an ecological base is extremely difficult.

Bai Yuekui introduced him to the achievements he had accumulated over the years, as well as the Angel Potion and Miracle K, which were kept in a secret place.

However, due to the scarcity of raw materials, the quantity of these two medicines that can be produced is not large.

"My attainment of 'immortality' was entirely by chance and cannot be replicated. Over the years, I have also experimented with these two drugs on clones, but without exception, they all failed."

Bai Yuekui looked at Bai Jingyu and continued, "Therefore, I will need experts in various related fields, and I must develop a drug that can be perfectly combined."

Technological gaps, systemic gaps.

It is difficult to cultivate a capable scientist, and not everyone has the talent for it.

If you can't learn it, then you can't learn it.

Bai Jingyu naturally understood this as well, and agreed to Bai Yuekui's request, then continued walking forward.

"This way." Bai Yuekui's voice pulled him back from his thoughts.

She stopped in front of a private elevator that required authentication and pressed her finger on the recognition area.

The elevator doors slid open silently, revealing a spacious interior that could comfortably accommodate the group.

Bai Yuekui pressed a button marked "B7", and the elevator vibrated slightly before starting to descend smoothly.

Finally, the elevator came to a stop on the B7 floor.

The door slowly opened.

Outside the elevator, a figure stood quietly waiting.

It was a female mechanical body, with a smooth and precise design, a metallic shell that gleamed with a cold luster, and soft facial features.

"Bai Jingyu, this is our official meeting now." ASH smiled as she looked at Bai Jingyu.

She lowered her head slightly, looked at her body which resembled a human form, and then reached out her hand to Bai Jingyu.

Bai Jingyu paused for a moment, then extended his right hand to shake hands with ASH.

Bai Yuetian then nudged his father with his elbow with a grin: "Dad, the body you prepared for ASH back then was very aesthetically pleasing. I really approve of you in that respect."

Bai Jingyu felt a little embarrassed by his son's words, so he withdrew his hand and subconsciously touched his nose.

The design of the body was indeed his, but the final completion of the body was up to Ash himself.

His gaze had just left ASH and was about to examine the secret room closely when his eyes inadvertently swept over an area near the side.

There was a square life support capsule there, with various life support pipelines connected to the capsule.

And inside that cabin...

The awkward smile on Bai Jingyu's face froze instantly and then disappeared completely. His expression darkened visibly, becoming extremely ugly.

Inside that life support capsule, a man lay quietly.

The man had his eyes closed, his face peaceful as if he were asleep, but it was clear that he looked very similar to Bai Yuetian.

The body in the life support pod just looked a little older.

Bai Yuetian seemed completely oblivious to his father's sudden darkening expression.

He pointed at the life support pod with that same carefree, grinning tone and said, "Look, Dad, see clearly? That's my original body. What do you think? I'm pretty handsome with a beard, aren't I?" His tone was casual, as if he were talking about some amusing anecdote that had nothing to do with him.

As he spoke, he took out a spherical life support capsule from a storage compartment next to him.

"And this." Bai Yuetian handed the spherical life support capsule to Bai Jingyu and waved it in front of him.

"This is the second temporary residence. The situation was urgent at the time, so Yue Kui modified it using the prototype mobile terminal of ASH. However, it is actually quite comfortable to live in. If Yue Kui and the others hadn't forced me, I wouldn't have wanted to change."

He paused, his smile fading for a moment, but then blossomed into an even brighter smile.

He patted his now strong and upright chest forcefully, producing a slight thud.

“As for this one now!” he puffed out his chest.

"This is a brand new version tailored to our needs, made using cutting-edge biomechanical fusion technology left over from the Hela Empire, combined with various rare materials that Orange and his team painstakingly found! It's a pure bespoke creation!"

“In a way.” Bai Yuetian winked at Bai Jingyu.

"Your son has now achieved silicon-based immortality, isn't that amazing? Compared to before, its performance, compatibility, and potential are all on a completely different level!"

"The Hela Empire's alternative immortality through uploading consciousness is similar to that of electronic pets. I'm different; I'm a combination of silicon and carbon."

He talked on and on, his tone as relaxed as if he were just introducing his newly bought game console.

However, the more indifferent he acted, the more Bai Jingyu felt as if his heart was being tightly gripped by an icy hand, causing him so much pain that he could hardly breathe.

Yang Chen reached out and placed his hand on Bai Yuetian's shoulder, applying slight pressure to signal him to stop.

Bai Yuetian's smile finally faded a little.

Seeing his father's almost murderous expression, he scratched his head and said in a slightly more serious tone, "Uh... Dad, actually... it's not that bad. Look at me, I'm alive and kicking..."

"Besides, Moonbeam and I did a lot of stupid things back then. Now, Gray hasn't reached that point yet, so everything can change."

"Hmm," Bai Jingyu said silently, looking at the body in the life support pod.

He understands the reasoning, but seeing his son like this, what father could remain calm?

Bai Yuekui sensed her father's emotions, and she broke her silence, giving Ash a look.

ASH immediately understood, and her gentle voice broke the suffocating silence, diverting Bai Jingyu's attention from the life support pod that caused him so much heartache.

"Bai Jingyu." ASH's mechanical body turned slightly to the side, its arm pointing towards a huge and heavy sealed door deep inside the laboratory.

"The Mana Primordial Body is inside."

Bai Jingyu took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing the pent-up pain in his chest.

He turned his head as instructed, his gaze fixed in the direction Ash was pointing.

ASH stepped forward, her mechanical fingers connecting to a concealed interface on the side of the door.

The layers of physical locks inside the door slowly disengaged with a "click".

The heavy doors slid open silently to the sides, revealing the scene behind them.

The space behind the door was more expansive and towering than the outer room, dimly lit, with only the central area illuminated by a cold, focused beam of light.

Beneath that pillar of light, a bizarre creature, beyond description, lay quietly in the center.

It roughly resembles a human, but its proportions are extremely bizarre, and its abdomen seems to be pregnant with something.

What is most horrifying is its abnormally large head, its limbs that droop with atrophy, and its lifeless skin.

This is the initial form of Mana.

I'm stuck in a rut, wanting to update more but my brain just won't allow it.
