Chapter 108 Where is mine?
It's already the second day.

Bai Yuetian was very worried about his younger sister, Bai Yuekui.

I noticed something was wrong while we were having dinner last night.

This morning he specifically asked Belenkov, and Bai Yuekui not only didn't come out to dance in the square, but he didn't even come down for a morning run.

Bai Yuetian sat under a big tree in the square, and after thinking for a moment, decided to go and see Bai Yuekui's house.

Cool sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains.

Yang Chen's biological clock woke him up earlier than usual.

He turned his head slightly to look at the person beside him.

Bai Yuekui was still asleep, his silver hair slightly disheveled.

She was sleeping soundly, her breathing even and long.

The bold and assertive demeanor of last night has vanished. Now, she is as quiet as an innocent child, with faint marks on her neck silently telling the story of last night's madness.

Yang Chen held his breath, carefully lifted a corner of the blanket, and stepped barefoot onto the cold floor without making a sound.

He tiptoed to the bathroom, quickly washed up, and the cold water completely woke him up.

When he came out, he instinctively tried to tuck the blanket around Bai Yuekui.

But Bai Yuekui suddenly opened his eyes and stared straight at him, clearly awakened by the noise of his washing up.

"Awake?" Yang Chen sat down by the bed.

Bai Yuekui didn't say anything, but simply wrapped himself up even more tightly in the blanket.

Only her eyes were visible as she stared at him.

"Ahem." Yang Chen cleared his throat and pointed to the bed sheet.

"Um... how about I get up and go wash the sheets?"

"..." Bai Yuekui's breath seemed to stop for a moment.

She glanced at the bed sheet, then immediately looked away, her gaze towards Yang Chen filled with a mixture of embarrassment, annoyance, and awkwardness.

Yang Chen understood what she meant from her eyes, chuckled softly, and reached out to ruffle her hair, but she turned her head away.

"Ahem." Yang Chen was about to say something when...

Bai Yuekui suddenly sat up, ripped off the messy bed sheet, crumpled it into a ball, and shoved it at Yang Chen.

Then his gaze fell on the thin clothes on the ground, and he immediately picked them up and stuffed them into Yang Chen's hands.

"Hurry up and wash these, I need to take a shower."

"Let's go together, I haven't showered yet either."

"up to you."

After saying that, Bai Yuekui walked straight into the bathroom, and the sound of water immediately filled the air.

Yang Chen looked at the bed sheet with the stain, then turned and walked towards the washing machine on the balcony.

Press the start button. Listen to the low hum of water flowing in and the drum starting to turn.

Then they walked toward the bathroom, where the sound of running water could still be heard.

Amidst the swirling mist, Bai Yuekui's figure appeared and disappeared beneath the flowing water. She didn't reject his approach; she simply stepped aside to give him space when he opened the frosted glass door.

The two quickly washed themselves clean, dried themselves, and changed into clean home clothes.

Bai Yuekui wrapped his wet silver hair in a towel, walked out of the bathroom first, went straight to the living room, and poured himself a glass of warm water.

She took a sip, which soothed her somewhat dry throat.

Dude, dunk, dunk.

A knock on the door sounded at the right time.

Bai Yuekui put down his water glass, walked to the door, and opened it.

"Moon Queen!"

Upon seeing his younger sister outside the door, Bai Yuetian immediately put on a concerned smile and quickly scanned her face.

Hmm, her eyes are bright, and her complexion and overall condition are much better than yesterday, even though her hair is still wet.

Bai Yuetian's worries were completely relieved. It seemed that his sister was just in a bad mood and would feel better after a good night's sleep.

"Brother, so early?" Bai Yuekui stepped aside to let him in, his tone indifferent.

"I was worried about you! You looked like you'd lost your soul yesterday, and I didn't see you doing your morning exercise this morning, so I came to check on you."

As Bai Yuetian spoke, he walked into the living room with practiced ease, his gaze habitually sweeping over the familiar space.

Finally, his gaze was drawn to the simply designed picture frame on the low cabinet in the center of the living room.

In the photo, Yang Chen is embracing Bai Yuekui, and the two are smiling happily.

"Oh!" Bai Yuetian's eyes lit up. He walked over in a few steps and picked up the photo frame with great interest.

"When was this photo taken? It's really beautiful! The background is also great, the night scene has a really nice atmosphere!"

He clicked his tongue in admiration, his gaze lingering on the photo: "How come I've never seen this one before? The background looks kind of familiar though."

His voice gradually lowered, and the smile on his face slowly froze.

Something's wrong. Something's very wrong.

Something is definitely not right.

The background of this photo... looks a lot like Hisakawa City, doesn't it?
Oh, I see.

It must have been Yuekui who asked Ash to Photoshop a picture of herself last night to ease her longing.

“Yue Kui, you don’t need to worry too much about Cheng Zi. According to the stories he told us before, the spirit of justice will protect him in the dark.”

Although there shouldn't be any of those messy righteous or evil energies here.

Just then, the door from the balcony to the living room was opened, and Yang Chen walked in, wiping his still-dripping hair with a towel.

"Yue Kui, the sheets will be washed soon, probably..."

His words stopped abruptly, and he stared at Bai Yuetian for a moment, stunned.

Good morning, Yue Tian.

Bai Yuetian was also stunned, and it took him a long time to squeeze out a single word.

".Depend on!"

He glanced at Bai Yuekui beside him, then looked at Yang Chen standing under the door frame.

"When did you get back? Did you fail?!"

"No, it worked. I came back last night."

Bai Yuetian gripped the photo frame, his gaze shifting wildly between Yang Chen's radiant smile in the photo, the dazzling night view of Jiuchuan in the background, and the living, breathing Yang Chen before him, his hair still dripping wet.

His brilliant mind began to work wildly.

You came back last night? It worked? Then this photo…

"Holy crap! This photo is real?!"

Bai Yuetian suddenly raised the photo frame to Yang Chen's nose, his voice rising several octaves with excitement.

"Not ASH P?! You two... went back to Jiuchuan last night?! And even went to ride the Ferris wheel?!"

Yang Chen was both amused and exasperated by his excitement, nodding as he dried his hair.

He then explained the whole story.

"Uh...yes. The plan changed, and the way back was much more convenient than expected, so...I took Yuekui back to have a look."

"Look?!" Bai Yuetian's voice was trembling with tears.

"You call this 'taking a look'? Going back to ride the Ferris wheel, see the night view, and take a group photo, is that what you call 'taking a look'?"

Yang Chen reached out and patted Bai Yuetian on the back, comforting her, "Then I'll take you to ride the Ferris wheel next time too."

Bai Yuetian slapped his hand away: "Who wants to ride the Ferris wheel with you? Is that the point?"

He suddenly turned to Bai Yuekui, his eyes accusing him: "Yuekui! You, you went back with him without telling me? Aren't we family? Am I not your brother anymore?"

Bai Yuekui held the water glass, took a sip, and slowly looked away, avoiding Bai Yuetian's gaze.

"You..." Bai Yuetian almost choked on his breath.

He was instantly overwhelmed by a huge sense of grievance and imbalance.

Looking at his sister's radiant smile in the photo, and then thinking about the hometown he could only reminisce about in his dreams, he felt a surge of bitterness welling up inside him.

Just then, out of the corner of his eye, he glanced at the low cabinet on the other side of the living room, where a delicate acrylic display box was quietly placed.

Inside the box is a mechanical white mouse made of shiny silver alloy and intricate micro-gears.

The workmanship is exquisite.

Bai Yuetian, as if discovering a new continent, rushed over and carefully picked up the display box.

"What... what is this?" He suddenly looked up and stared at Yang Chen again, his eyes burning with intense desire.

"Orange! You bought it? A gift you brought back to Jiuchuan... for Yuekui?"

Yang Chen looked at the almost tangible expectation in Bai Yuetian's eyes and his heart skipped a beat, realizing something was wrong.

Sure enough, the next second, Bai Yuetian carefully placed the mechanical mouse back on the cabinet.

Then he rushed to Yang Chen and grabbed his arms with both hands.

"What about mine?"

"Orange, tell me, how have I always treated you? Haven't I been good enough to you?!"

"You brought them all for Yue Kui, what about mine?"

"Hurry up and take it out! Stop hiding it! I know you definitely bought it!"

As he spoke, his eyes scanned the living room, trying to find the gift that belonged to him, and he even tried to peek into the bedroom.

Yang Chen: "..."

He stood frozen in place, feeling Bai Yuetian's expectant gaze.

It felt like cold sweat was seeping from my forehead.

Yesterday... it seems, perhaps... he really only thought about buying things for Bai Yuekui, and didn't consider his brother-in-law at all?
