Lu Mingfei, become the King of Elden!
Chapter 34
Chapter 34
Lu Mingfei, dragging his body wrapped in bandages like a moving mummy, slowly made his way back to his dormitory, Room 303 in Zone 1, which Finger called his "doghouse," in the lazy afternoon sunlight of Kassel College.
The moment I opened the door, a "Fingal smell" – a mixture of leftover pizza, instant coffee powder, and some kind of suspicious fermentation – hit me.
Lu Mingfei instinctively held his breath. This smell was even worse than the Ayman Cave!
He habitually tensed his muscles and loosely clenched his right hand.
Then he realized that there were no Grik soldiers or Famyazra orcs here, only a useless senior brother who was probably still lost in his dreams.
"Damn it!"
He muttered to himself.
Having stayed in the border region for far too long, Lu Mingfei needs some time to adjust to this peaceful and harmonious life.
However, the scene that Fingel had envisioned—lying sprawled out on the bed, snoring loudly—did not materialize.
The dorm room is unusually...tidy?
Of course, this is relative to Finger's standards. At least, there were no more scattered potato chip bags and empty beer cans on the floor, and the mountain of takeout wrappers on the table had disappeared, revealing the long-lost natural wood-colored tabletop. What shocked Lu Mingfei even more was that a... well-dressed guy was sitting upright on his small single bed in the dormitory.
Mr. Fingel von Frings had changed his usual vagrant-like, decadent appearance. His greasy blond hair had obviously been roughly washed and combed, and even waxed, barely maintaining a slicked-back "successful person" hairstyle.
He was wearing a brand-new shirt, over which was a sharp suit vest, and trousers with sharp, creases pressed into the fabric.
He even shaved, a rare occurrence, revealing a face that was mostly obscured by a sense of decay, yet still vaguely showing traces of his former handsome features.
At this moment, the completely transformed Senior Brother Fingel was sitting elegantly on the edge of Lu Mingfei's bed, holding a steaming cup of... instant coffee in his hand, as if he had been waiting for a long time.
He lay with a thick, hardcover book, "An Introduction to Dragon Genealogy," on his lap, gazing "profoundly" out the window, like a philosopher contemplating the future of humanity.
Lu Mingfei froze at the door, his eyes wide open beneath the gauze, almost thinking he had opened the door wrong, or had simply gone to the wrong dormitory and stumbled into the private study of some aristocratic elite.
He subconsciously rubbed his eyes to confirm that the creature in front of him was indeed Fingel.
"Uh……"
Lu Mingfei uttered a syllable that had no meaning.
Fingel seemed to be startled awake by the sound of the door opening. He slowly turned his head, revealing a carefully rehearsed "surprised" smile that mixed surprise, concern, and just the right amount of restraint.
"Ah! My dear junior brother Lu! You have finally returned in triumph!"
Fingel put down his coffee cup, stood up dramatically, and opened his arms as if to give him a hug.
"The Academy's rising star! The Secret Party's dragon-slaying hero! The most dazzling S-rank in Kassel's history! Let me see how badly you're injured! I heard you were incredibly brave, single-handedly venturing into the dragon's lair, fighting the Dragon King Norton for three hundred rounds, and finally slaying him... oh no, slaying him in the river!"
He's practically a modern-day Beowulf or Siegfried!
Lu Mingfei's lips twitched, and the gauze trembled.
What are you doing?
"Tsk! Junior brother, what are you saying!"
Fingel pouted in dissatisfaction, trying his best to maintain an elegant posture, and reached out to adjust the button on his collar that was making it a little hard for him to breathe.
"As your roommate, advisor, and senior brother, who is like a brother to you, shouldn't we welcome you with the most enthusiastic welcome, the neatest appearance, and the most... uh, the most academic attitude when you return from serious injury?"
Lu Mingfei rolled his eyes.
"Just for this, you tore open your third edition of 'Introduction to Dragon Genealogy' which wasn't even shrink-wrapped? Senior brother, do you think I don't know you?"
"Speak your mind!"
Fingel's "elegant" mask crumbled instantly, and he slumped back onto the edge of the bed in a deflated manner, the movement so large that his impeccably tailored trousers groaned under the strain.
He tugged at his collar in frustration:
"Damn! I was suffocating! Junior brother, you have no idea! You've really stirred up a hornet's nest this time!"
Fingel leaned closer to Lu Mingfei, lowered his voice, and said mysteriously:
"While you were in the hospital, the whole academy was buzzing with the news! The post 'S-class freshman Lu Mingfei single-handedly defeated the first-generation Dragon King Norton!' has been on the forum for seven days and seven nights!"
Lu Mingfei looked up at the sky. He knew perfectly well who posted that thread.
As the head of the news department, Fingel has informants all over the school.
Rather, with so many student council members on the Moniach, it would be strange if he didn't have any informants.
Is this what you call blocking information? Is this what you call protecting me?
Your school board and secretariat's efficiency is so poor that they can't even stop a Finger! This news has probably already spread all over the world and appeared in all sorts of mixed-race gossip tabloids!
But what does this have to do with Fingel...?
Immediately, Lu Mingfei suddenly realized:
"What are they selling this time? Photos? Autographs? Or something even more outrageous?"
Fingel turned his head away somewhat awkwardly, his gaze darting between the dormitory ceiling and floor.
You wouldn't have already...
Lu Mingfei narrowed his eyes, his voice carrying a dangerous undertone:
"Sell it?"
"100 photo albums, 500 autographed photos"
Fingelton paused, then lowered his head somewhat embarrassed:
"There are also 20 pieces of underwear worn by S-class women."
The air in the dormitory seemed to freeze instantly.
Lu Mingfei's expression was like he had just opened a treasure chest; the change from shock to rage took only 0.1 seconds.
"I kill you!"
Lu Mingfei pounced like a furious lion, gripping Fingel's neck tightly with both hands, clearly eager to eliminate him.
"Don't! Don't!"
Fingel's face turned bright red, like a boiled crab.
"Pre-sale! It's a pre-sale, junior brother!"
Lu Mingfei loosened his grip slightly, but his hands remained clamped around Finger's neck like iron clamps:
"How much did you charge?"
Fingel replied:
"A photo album costs $500, an autographed photo costs $70, and clothing costs $2000. We've collected a 20% deposit so far."
"What?!!"
Lu Mingfei's voice suddenly rose, shaking the windowpane.
"You shrewd businessman! No, that's not right."
He suddenly realized an even more terrifying problem:
"People actually buy at such outrageous prices?!"
Fingel shook his head, a look of deep sorrow on his face:
"Junior brother, you still underestimate your market value."
He counted on his fingers.
“I was worried that the price would be too high, so I deliberately limited the release. But it sold out in less than ten seconds, and now your autographed photo is being resold for $3000 on the forum.”
An eerie atmosphere permeated the dormitory.
