Lu Mingfei, become the King of Elden!

Chapter 16 Flying Dragon Yakir

Chapter 16 Flying Dragon Yakir

Lu Mingfei stood on the wall of the church in Arele, gazing at the knight known as the "Great Tree Guardian" who had once made him flee at the mere sight of him. Now, looking at him, that tall figure no longer filled him with fear.

"Now it seems, it's not that strong after all."

He muttered to himself, several possible solutions already forming in his mind.

The old man's teachings were very comprehensive. In addition to how to deal with humanoid enemies, he also explained and simulated how to deal with various creatures commonly found in the border areas.

"Well, this guy isn't my target this time either," Lu Mingfei shook his head, lightly leaped off the wall, and prepared to test the quality of the Tree Guardian on the way back.

He crossed the lawn and walked toward the homeless merchant in the corner.

Galley, wearing a straw raincoat and a little red hat, was fiddling with his musical instrument.

"Hey, Brother Galai!"

Galley put down his instrument and gave him a friendly look:

"Guest, it's been a long time. I'm so happy to see you still alive."

Lu Mingfei waved his hand, ignoring Galley's daily auspicious words, and casually sat down cross-legged:
"Give me 20 bone throwing knives and 20 feathered arrows."

Galley didn't ask any questions, but silently opened his backpack and took out the goods.

Merchants from nomadic tribes have always operated this way. I won't ask you what you're buying things for, and you shouldn't ask me where they came from.
But Lu Mingfei's purpose for this trip was not limited to this.

He calmly took the item and casually asked:
"Hey bro, do you know that there's a dragon called Akiel north of the Church of Elektra?"

Galley raised an eyebrow and glanced at him thoughtfully.

“I know the dragon Yakir.”

He nodded.

"In the center of the nearby lake, immortal beings often gather, waiting only to be burned to death by dragon flames."

"It can breathe fire," Lu Mingfei nodded, noting down this information. "What else can it do? Summon wind and rain? Command lightning?"

Galley, who was already used to Lu Ming's unusual use of strange words, simply shook his head:

"Few dragons can control lightning and storms; that's the domain of ancient dragons."

As soon as Galley finished speaking, Lu Mingfei breathed a slight sigh of relief. He weighed the bone throwing knife in his hand and muttered:
"If all you can do is breathe fire, that makes things much easier."

After bidding farewell to Galley, Lu Mingfei used the Spirit Horse Sentinel to summon Torret, and sped along the rocky path on the edge of the cliff, leaving those ugly giant bats far behind.

These bats, once Lu Mingfei's nightmare, are no longer a match for him. However, injuries are inevitable in a prolonged fight, so Lu Mingfei avoids them whenever possible.

Upon arriving at the lake area, Lu Mingfei dismounted and casually killed a terrestrial sea squirt with two slashes.

He was not skilled in horseback combat, and his ability to gallop freely was entirely due to Toret's cooperation.

Lu Mingfei stood on the lake shore and began to survey the terrain.

"We don't have time to explore these ruins for now. That island ahead should be Akiel's territory, but the terrain is too open."

Lu Mingfei muttered, "How are people supposed to hide here?"

Soon, the howling wind heralded the arrival of the dragon. A massive shadow swept across the sky, spewing forth brilliant yet dangerous dragonfire that ignited the immortals who sought death.

Lu Mingfei crouched behind a rock by the lake, carefully observing the flying dragon.

Yakir's scales are dark gray, gleaming with a metallic sheen in the sunlight. Its wings, folded at its sides, still give it a majestic appearance. Its thick tail occasionally slaps the water's surface, creating splashes, its sharp spikes particularly conspicuous.

Its head and horns were rugged, and its back was covered with bony spurs. Its four claws were long and powerful, with bulging muscles and sharp blades.

“A direct assault would be tantamount to suicide,” he muttered. “Are all Dragon Warriors insane? How could they even think about hunting such monsters?”

Nevertheless, Lu Mingfei couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. If he weren't immortal, his first reaction upon seeing this thing would definitely have been to run away.
The best option is to fight it in this rocky lake area: the rocks can serve as cover, and the lake water can buffer the heat and damage from the flames.

We need to lure it here first.

Lu Mingfei took a deep breath, drew his bow, and released an arrow. The arrow shot through the air, tracing an arc with a whoosh, and struck Yakiel's folded wing membrane precisely.

"Roar--"

The dragon suddenly raised its head, its vertical pupils locking onto the direction from which the arrow had come. It spread its wings, raised its head, and let out a deafening roar, its scorching dragon breath brewing in its throat.

Lu Mingfei had already swiftly shifted his position. He ran along the route he had scouted beforehand, the armor plates on his body clanging against each other with a metallic sound. Every now and then, Lu Mingfei would turn back and fire a few arrows to ensure that the flying dragon kept up.

Akiel flapped its wings angrily, stirring up a gale. Its massive body swept across the lake, and scorching dragon breath spewed from its mouth, forming a semi-circular fan shape.

Lu Mingfei scrambled and crawled behind the boulder, the dragon flames skimming the edge of the rock, evaporating the lake water into large swaths of white mist.

He felt the heat wave rushing towards him and the scorching rocks behind him, his heart pounding like a drum.

"I'd rather go back and practice 'Summon the Storm' three hundred more times."

Lu Mingfei touched the armor, which was burning hot from the heat, and murmured.

Despite saying that, Lu Mingfei took a deep breath, flashed out from behind the cover, and the greatsword in his hand emitted a faint white light.

He charged forward with all his might, and in the instant the dragon turned around, he slashed his greatsword fiercely at the joint of the dragon's hind limb.

Spinning slash!
"Roar--!"

Yakiel roared in pain, the enormous dragon roar making Lu Mingfei's eardrums ache, and its thick tail swept across like a whip.

Staring at the sharp tail spike, Lu Mingfei dared not hesitate for a moment. He rolled towards the side of the dragon, stood up and delivered a heavy thrust. Hot dragon blood gushed out from the sword, drenching Lu Mingfei's face.

However, how could a flying dragon be so weak?
Its enormous dragon claws rose up and then slammed back down on the ground, stirring up heavy air currents.

Caught off guard, Lu Mingfei parried with his sword, but was still thrown several meters by the impact and crashed heavily into the lake.

The fall left Lu Mingfei completely dazed. If it were before, he would probably be suffering from multiple fractures by now, lying in the Kassel College medical ward, waiting for a nurse to feed him.
He got up and was about to turn around when a huge shadow loomed overhead!

It turned out that while he was dizzy, Feilong flapped its wings and swooped down from the sky, intending to finish Lu Mingfei off with a fierce bite!
Lu Mingfei instantly snapped out of his daze and scrambled to hide behind Feilong's crotch.

Lu Mingfei didn't care whether his action had any other meaning. If Han Xin could endure the humiliation of crawling between someone's legs, what was wrong with Lu Mingfei slaying a dragon between someone's legs?
