Starting Immortal Cultivation from a White Dog
Chapter 323 Bodhisattvas, Arhats, Immortals, and Gods Descend to the Mortal Realm
In the Heavenly Court, the Fire Palace was surrounded by Buddhist light and rising flames.
Deep within the temple, atop a twelve-petaled crimson-gold lotus platform, the Bodhisattva Dingguang was meditating with his eyes closed.
He was wearing a crimson-gold robe, embroidered with thousands of mantras. Upon closer inspection, each mantra was outlined by Buddha's light.
The Bodhisattva Dingguang has a face like a full moon, earlobes that reach his shoulders, a cinnabar mole between his eyebrows, and a round, reddish-gold halo that slowly rotates behind his head, within which countless mantras seem to arise and evolve.
His left hand forms the meditation mudra and is placed in front of his navel, while his right hand holds a precious fan with a white jade handle and red gold leaves. As the fan is gently swayed, Buddhist light falls like lotus petals.
Two Arhats stood on either side of the lotus platform.
The Arhat Subduing Dragon on the left is twelve feet tall and as imposing as a mountain.
His skin was bronze, his muscles were bulging, and he possessed the divine power to subdue a true dragon. He wore a simple gray monk's robe, over which was a gold-checkered kasaya. He had a square face and a wide mouth, and his eyes were like lightning, exuding an imposing aura without anger.
He held no weapon, but his fists seemed forged from metal, and each wrist wore a golden ring engraved with scriptures. Golden dragons faintly coiled and roared around him, a manifestation of his supernatural powers.
The Arhat on the right, who is subduing a tiger, is slightly smaller in size, but exceptionally strong and agile.
His face was pale gold, his short beard was like a spear, and his eyes flashed with a fierce light like a tiger. He wore a short jacket sewn from tiger skin, and a lifelike winged black tiger was tattooed on his bare arm.
He stood barefoot, with a white tiger crouching beside him, exuding a fierce aura and occasionally letting out a low roar.
Suddenly, Dingguang Bodhisattva opened his eyes, a flash of golden light piercing through the nine heavens and looking directly down into the southern border of the mortal realm!
"This is?!"
For the first time, a violent tremor, even a hint of horror, appeared on the usually calm and composed face of the Bodhisattva.
The two Arhats, who were subduing dragons and tigers, also sensed something at the same time, and suddenly looked up, their golden bodies involuntarily radiating light.
“Bodhisattva, the aura in the lower realm…” The Arhat Subduing Dragon’s voice was deep.
"Extremely Yang and pure, illuminating the entire universe..."
Dingguang Bodhisattva spoke slowly and deliberately, his precious fan ceasing its movement. "I have only ever felt such an aura when the Buddha manifested the true form of Vairocana Tathagata."
The Arhat Subduing Tiger gasped, "Could it be... the Great Sun Golden Crow?"
Dingguang Bodhisattva's expression was extremely solemn: "Most likely! Even if he is not of pure blood, he must have received the Golden Crow's inheritance."
"The appearance of this demon is a catastrophe for our Fire Tribe!"
He rose, his robes fluttering without wind, and a halo behind his head swirling: "The Golden Crow is the son of the sun, ruling over all fires. If it is allowed to grow, my authority in the Fire Department will inevitably be suppressed and plundered by it."
"Leaving that aside, the Buddha takes 'Mahavairocana' as his title and comprehends the Dao of Mahavairocana. This Golden Crow is the Buddha's natural enemy on the path of the Great Dao. The struggle of the Great Dao is a fight to the death."
The Arhat who Subdues Dragons gripped the golden ring tightly, his voice like muffled thunder: "Bodhisattva, what should we do?"
A fierce glint flashed in Dingguang Bodhisattva's eyes: "We must not allow him to succeed in his breakthrough. We must nip him in the bud before he has fully condensed his star position and his foundation is stable. You two will come with me to the mortal realm immediately!"
"We will obey your command." The two Arhats responded in unison, and the light from their bodies, both Buddhist and golden, soared into the sky.
Dingguang Bodhisattva said no more, and activated the lotus platform beneath him, which transformed into a beam of Buddhist light that stretched across the sky and rushed toward the southern border.
The two Arhats, Subduing Dragon and Taming Tiger, followed closely behind. The combined might of the three caused the heavenly clouds to part wherever they passed, and the immortals and gods along the way to flee in terror.
……
Almost at the same time that Dingguang Bodhisattva set off, in the Heavenly Court's Dipper Department, at the Palace of the Fire Virtue Star Lord.
Kong Lingxuan was leaning against the throne, playing with a jade pendant.
He was not wearing armor today, but rather a magnificent crimson feather robe, embroidered with a hundred birds paying homage to the phoenix in gold thread, shimmering with iridescent light. His face was so handsome it was almost otherworldly, with a phoenix feather pattern between his brows, and his eyes shone with a five-colored divine light as they opened and closed, sparkling with brilliance.
Although his posture was languid, the nobility and imposing aura he naturally exuded made the star officials and gods standing in the hall dare not look him in the eye.
The Fire Star Lord's Dharma Form had gradually pinpointed the exact location of the Wave Moon Cave some time ago, but he did not rush to enter the Wave Moon Cave; instead, he slowed down his actions.
Many people are eyeing the Wave Moon Cave. If he acts rashly, he might end up benefiting others.
Kong Lingxuan was never a kind-hearted person.
He is currently communicating with the Taiqing Daoist lineage, and once an agreement is reached, he can break into the Wave Moon Cave and completely loot the cave of the ancient Kui Mu Star Lord.
However, when it comes to interests and power, even the Taiqing Daoist lineage is unwilling to yield, and the two sides have been arguing for some time.
As he was pondering, he suddenly stopped, his phoenix eyes snapping towards the south, a look of surprise flashing in them.
"This aura...from the Hundred Thousand Mountains of Southern Xinjiang?"
As the former Lord of the Undying Palace, he had a natural affinity for that land. "No, this is no ordinary breakthrough for a demon saint... Such pure light and heat, such an ancient and noble will..."
An almost impossible conjecture surfaced in Kong Lingxuan's mind, and he suddenly sat up straight, his pupils contracting: "Could it be... the Golden Crow? There are still Golden Crow bloodlines in this world?"
Before he could think it through, he saw a mighty dragon aura soar into the sky from the direction of Tonghai County in the lower realm, transforming into a five-clawed golden dragon that was a thousand feet long with distinct scales and claws.
The golden dragon roared, carrying a devastating force, and made no attempt to conceal its killing intent as it pounced directly towards the location of the golden pillar of fire in the fourth heaven.
"How dare you!" Kong Lingxuan's eyes flashed with cold light as he slammed his hand on the table and stood up. "Where did this mudfish come from, daring to act so recklessly in the Southern Frontier and ruin the path of humanity?"
Although he didn't know when the Undying Palace had produced such an astonishing prodigy, since he had broken through on the Undying Palace's territory, how could Kong Lingxuan sit idly by?
"All generals of the Star Palace, guard the gate well. I, the Star Lord, will be back soon."
Before he finished speaking, his figure transformed into a dazzling, multicolored streak of light, faster than lightning, tearing through the clouds of the heavens and plummeting straight to the southern border. Within that streak of light, one could vaguely discern the wondrous sights of a Vermilion Bird's long cry and a Phoenix spreading its wings.
……
The Ten Thousand Mountains, at the top of the cliffs.
Bai Fengxian had already sensed Mo Ang's murderous intent. Seeing him transform into a dragon and pounce, she snorted coldly, her body surrounded by azure divine wind, and was about to rush into the sky to block him.
"Fengmu Yuanjun, why the rush?"
A thunderous laugh rang out, and the clouds ahead exploded open. General Lei Gong, standing on a thundercloud, led three thousand thunder soldiers to block their path.
Holding a thunder chisel and clad in purple-gold armor, with electric snakes dancing around him, he looked at Bai Fengxian mockingly: "Your opponent is this general."
Bai Fengxian's expression turned cold, and she stopped in her tracks: "General Lei Gong, what do you mean by this? Are you trying to obstruct my protection and collude with the Dragon Clan?"
"The Dragon Clan is the greatest enemy of my Thunder Department and Water Department. Are you trying to collude with the Dragon Clan?"
"No, no." General Lei shook his head leisurely. "This general just feels that it is beneath Yuanjun's dignity to concern herself so much with an unrelated demon race."
"Why not come with me to the clouds to talk, enjoy tea, and discuss philosophy? Why bother with fighting and killing?"
He stared at Bai Fengxian, his voice low and threatening: "Of course, if Yuanjun agrees to marry me, we will be Daoist partners. The person you want to protect, this general will naturally help protect as well, and may even help you get rid of that mudfish, how about it?" Bai Fengxian's eyes were like ice, and she rebuked sharply: "Shameless scoundrel, don't even think about it!"
"So there's nothing to talk about?" General Lei Gong spread his hands regretfully, then his face darkened, and he pointed his Lei Gong chisel at Bai Fengxian. "Then this prodigy's breakthrough has nothing to do with my Lei Department. I demand that you return to the Heavenly Court immediately."
"Lord Yuan, will you go on your own, or shall I escort you?"
The atmosphere between the two was tense, with the power of wind and thunder subtly clashing, causing ripples in the void.
Bai Fengxian's face turned ashen. She knew that as a newly ascended True Immortal, she was no match for Lei Gong, a veteran deity. Seeing that the golden dragon transformed from Mo Ang was approaching the fourth heaven, she no longer hesitated and gritted her teeth to summon the Wind Mother Primordial Sovereign's talisman.
The divine light of the talisman surged, and the incantations appeared and disappeared.
Heavenly decrees are not only symbols of power and status, but also enable communication with other deities.
At this moment, she communicated with the Golden Light Holy Mother using a talisman, and in an instant, she reached the Heavenly Court.
The Palace of the Goddess of Lightning.
The temple was entirely made of crystal and glass, and its interior was filled with divine light.
In the center of the temple, the Golden Mother suddenly opened her eyes.
Her face was dignified and beautiful, yet her brows held a fierce edge, exuding an imposing aura. She wore a purple sash and a fairy robe, with lightning flashing as she walked.
An octagonal golden mirror hung behind his head, its surface chaotic, containing an endless world of thunder. In his hand he held a lightning whip, its blade as smooth as jade, which tore through the void with a gentle sway.
"Holy Mother, the Thunder God is obstructing my protection of the Dharma and attempting to corrupt the path of humanity. I beg you, Holy Mother, to intervene and stop him once. I will owe you a favor."
Upon receiving Bai Fengxian's message, the Golden Light Mother smirked coldly: "That Lei Gong is indeed domineering. If this continues, he will surely be courting death."
She acted decisively and without hesitation; her figure transformed into a dazzling bolt of lightning and vanished from the temple in an instant.
Before long, they arrived at the Ten Thousand Mountains in southern Xinjiang.
Before the people arrive, the sound comes first.
A clear, cold, and authoritative female voice resounded across the vast mountains.
"Thunder God, how dare you insult Wind Mother Yuanjun?!"
With a shout, a massive, mountain-like bolt of purple lightning tore through the sky, crashing down like a celestial river pouring down upon General Lei. Even before the lightning arrived, its destructive aura threw the three thousand thunder soldiers into disarray.
General Lei's expression changed drastically, and he hurriedly swung his Thunder Chisel to meet the attack.
"Boom!!"
The thunderclap and the purple lightning collided, unleashing a light more dazzling than the sun, and the terrifying shockwave swept away the clouds for miles around. Several mountain peaks below were silently reduced to dust.
As the lightning dissipated, the figure of the Golden Light Mother stood proudly before Bai Fengxian. Electricity crackled around her, a golden mirror hovered above her head, casting protective divine light, and her lightning whip pointed directly at the Thunder God, her phoenix eyes filled with murderous intent.
"Goddess of Lightning!" General Thunder was both shocked and furious. He hadn't expected the Holy Mother of Golden Light to arrive so quickly. "This matter has nothing to do with you, so why do you always have to meddle? Do you really want to fight me to the death?"
Golden Light Holy Mother sneered: "Thunder God, you abuse your power for personal gain, coerce your colleagues, and tarnish the reputation of my Thunder Department. How can I sit idly by? With me here today, you will not be able to touch the Wind Mother Yuanjun in the slightest."
"Fine, fine, fine!" General Lei Gong was so angry that his three corpses leaped up in fury. "Since you insist on protecting her, then don't blame me for disregarding our kinship! Take this!"
Without another word, the two immediately engaged in battle.
The Thunder God's Chisel summoned divine thunder from the heavens, transforming it into a raging sea of lightning; the Golden Mirror reflected boundless electric light, weaving together a destructive electric grid; the Lightning Whip danced wildly like dragons and snakes, shattering the void.
The two Thunder Gods clashed, instantly plunging the sky into darkness and obscuring the sun and moon. The aftershocks of their battle shook the entire Southern Frontier.
On the other side of the cliff, Bai Qian saw that Mo Ang's thousand-foot-tall dragon body had already entered the fourth level of the Heavenly Realm. The terrifying dragon might and killing intent made her heart tremble. Although she had become a Demon Saint, she knew that she was no match for such a true dragon prince.
"We must stop him!" Bai Qian did not hesitate and activated the secret technique of the Undying Palace to communicate with the Black Mountain Demon.
"Fellow Daoist Heishan, the Ten Thousand Mountains are in trouble, please come to our aid immediately!"
At the boundary between the underworld and the human world, in the boundless darkness, a majestic mountain, its entire body as black as jade, floats silently.
The mountainside is covered with the outlines of countless palaces and temples, as well as thousands of ghostly figures and ghostly soldiers patrolling the area.
At the summit, in a solemn temple, a majestic deity dressed in a black imperial robe and wearing a crown of the Tai Sui was sitting cross-legged.
His face was ancient, appearing both middle-aged and elderly, with his eyes revealing glimpses of life, death, and reincarnation. Embroidered on his black robe were patterns of mountains, rivers, and the realms of yin and yang, and he was surrounded by a faint gray-white aura of malevolent energy and ghostly spirits.
He held an ancient seal in his left hand, and behind his head floated strange images of the Black Mountain Underworld. In those images, one could see human cities and ghostly realms coexisting, yin and yang intertwined, mysterious and profound.
He was the Black Mountain Demon, who was bestowed the title of Tai Sui Star Lord and ruled over the Yin and Yang of this region.
Upon receiving Bai Qian's plea for help, the Black Mountain Demon remained unmoved. Given the commotion in the Southern Frontier, he was naturally paying close attention immediately.
His true form, Black Mountain, resides in the northern border. Although he has cultivated into a demon saint, he has no background in the Heavenly Court. If he were to enter the Heavenly Court directly, he would only become a pawn.
Tai Sui Xing Jun is not considered a great god in the Dou Bu.
"A golden crow has attained enlightenment?! If we can get this fellow Daoist's assistance, along with Taibai Xingjun and Huode Xingjun, our demon race can barely protect ourselves in the Heavenly Court."
Although the Black Mountain Demon had a karmic entanglement with the Taiqing Daozi in the past and owed him a lot of favors, the reason why he repeatedly helped the Ten Thousand Mountains was not because of his kind heart.
Rather, he knew that only by expanding the demon race's base and gaining more and more like-minded people could he gain a foothold in the Heavenly Court.
Otherwise, a star god like him, even if he entered a behemoth like the Heavenly Court, would only be able to be driven by those great gods.
He had been waiting for Bai Qian to speak. Now that he had received the message, he stepped out of the temple, and his body instantly expanded, transforming into a majestic Dharma image that was a thousand feet tall and dressed in imperial robes.
Behind the Dharma image, the strange phenomena of the Black Mountain Underworld were fully unfolded, and the vast divine power that connects the Yin and Yang realms surged forth.
"Prince Moang, halt!"
Its sound was like the grandest of bells, resounding throughout heaven and earth.
The Black Mountain Demon's Dharma form crashed directly into the fourth heaven, Azure Heaven, blocking the golden dragon that Moang had transformed into.
He waved his sleeve, unleashing countless rays of black and white divine light that blocked the thousand-foot-long golden dragon.
"Black Mountain Demon, you wretched creature, how dare you block this prince's way?" The Third Prince Moang was furious when he saw the old demon. "You wandering ghost, you rogue cultivator and wild demon, how dare you be so presumptuous?"
"If you anger me, believe me or not, I will report to my father and have your Black Mountain overturned, your Tai Sui Star destroyed, and your wild demon die without a burial place."
The Black Mountain Demon's eyes were cold and sinister. Behind him, the Black Mountain connected the Yin and Yang realms, and black and white magical light swept down on the golden dragon like a tidal wave.
"Such arrogance! I'd like to see how the Dragon Palace dares to act so presumptuously in my Black Mountain!!" (End of Chapter)
