"What value is your favor to me?" Renn asked arrogantly, raising an eyebrow. "It can be used to get me to do something for you," Ellina replied.

Renn tapped his fingers on the table and began to ponder.

The caged bird's control over Elrina is absolute; even if she is asked to perform actions that Elrina strongly resists, she is powerless to resist.

For example, if Raine asks her to "pretend to be his wife," then Ellina cannot deny to anyone that "she is Raine's wife," because that would conflict with the order to "pretend to be his wife."

However, every rule has its loopholes. For example, when asked about Renn, Ellina could deliberately give vague answers to arouse suspicion, which would be considered "clumsy impersonation" and would not violate Renn's orders through the caged bird.

If Ellina cannot be persuaded to cooperate sincerely, then the only option is to use the caged bird to issue extremely complex and precise commands that eliminate all possibilities, leaving her no room for error in execution. However, Raine would never choose to do that.

Until a solution to the "bird in the cage" problem is found, limited cooperation with him will be more beneficial for subsequent actions.

“This is so boring,” Dia suddenly said from the side. “Raine, why do you have to use benefits to motivate us to work for you? Can’t we talk about feelings?”

"You've developed feelings for me?" Renn asked, frowning in confusion.

“No, that’s not it.” Dia insisted stubbornly. “You can sincerely ask me for help, and of course I will consider helping you. That’s the normal way to make friends and achieve mutual benefit.”

“I don’t need your ‘consideration’,” Ryan said firmly. “I only need your obedience.”

“That’s enough, Dia,” Ellina said gently. “Thank you for speaking up for me.”

She looked at Ryan again and said:

"Tell me. Did you choose Salt Island as your fiefdom to settle the lizardmen who had fled to the rainforest peninsula?"

Dia's eyes widened in disbelief:
Oh, what? So it was to help me?

“Salt Island is not connected to the mainland by land, and the White Walkers cannot swim,” Ellina analyzed. “The downside is that the island’s environment is extremely harsh, and it cannot be self-sufficient in resources, making it extremely dependent on Searock City for supplies.”

"However, if we can acquire a large number of lizardmen who are skilled in swimming, hardworking, and adept at fishing, the negative effects of the above-mentioned shortcomings can be minimized. If we can subsequently manage to control the Fahl family's fleet, we can turn Salt Island into the last stronghold to escape the White Walkers."

“You make a good point,” Renn said slowly. “But if that were all, I wouldn’t have chosen a run-down place like Salt Island.”

“That’s what I’m also wondering about,” Ellina said calmly. “Answer my question.”

"Who?" Ellina asked, frowning.

"You recognize this person?" Renn smiled slightly. "The Rose Queen, do you remember her?"
