Chapter 371 Huron, the Timely Rain

Chapter 371 Huron, the Timely Rain

Even if the Milky Way were to vanish and the universe were to collapse, three mouths would remain in the void.

One shouts that it's all part of the plan, another shouts that I am Rogdorn, while the hardest and yellowest one will endlessly mutter that I am not a god.

Was the emperor a god? He was indeed not a god, but he was not a human either. He was far removed from being a god and not close to being a human either; he could only be considered a god-man.

Every Primarch has personality flaws, most of which are inherited from the Emperor, a psionic primitive from the region of Minor Terra.

Since the father is more anthropomorphic, then the only way to describe Erda, the biological mother, is through social and economic means.

Perhaps this is the worst time the term "marrying someone of equal social standing" has been vilified. Compared to that despicable yellow weasel, Mordred can deduce from the very few existing clues that Erda is even better. Mom may be disdainful, but she's crazy!
These two crazy people together are just unbelievable. Even a dog would be more human-like than these two lunatics.

If you were to list them all, there wouldn't be a single normal person in this imperial family. The Emperor is a scoundrel, and of the two good uncles, Waldo is a battle maniac, which has led the Emperor to tell him to study hard and cultivate his character instead of always thinking about killing people.

Macado, one of the two, isn't much better. Don't be fooled by its seemingly powerful appearance; it's far inferior to Zhuge Liang. Even though Liu Shan, whom Zhuge Liang nurtured, was weak, he was still much better than Alpha, that eccentric little dwarf.

Looking at the characters from top to bottom, Lady Astartes, who is comparable to the court physician, is the most human-like, but she died young.

Although he was an emperor, he liked to be a riddle teller and always muttered strange things like "30-year gold ring" and "Sagittarius, I love you," like a pair of star-crossed lovers.

However, compared to its moral standards, educational philosophy, and conduct, its strategic vision was absolutely first-rate. It managed to seize a glimmer of hope and pull humanity back from the brink of complete decline 1 years ago.

More than one Primarch opposed the Emperor's militaristic expansion and the utterly insane Great Crusade.

People didn't understand why the emperor was in such a hurry. Couldn't he have slowed down, managed and restored the conquered territories, and advanced gradually? But now people understand!

If they hadn't taken a desperate gamble and used the window of opportunity in the Warp after the birth of Slaanesh to defeat all the monsters and demons, the Empire would have been gone long ago over the past ten thousand years.

The aliens and even warlords encountered during the Great Expedition were all heavyweights.

The Hruds, who use entropy energy weapons, launch 6000-degree high-temperature energy bombs, possess spaceships 30 kilometers in size, and can turn a star into a red giant in minutes, nearly destroyed the Iron Warriors.

With three or more heads, one can suppress the Primarch, launch subspace fragments to cause devastating damage, and use psychic powers to enslave creatures from one world after another. This is likely Lady Clara, the madman from the War of Heaven.

The Mitu Alliance, which expanded across multiple star systems and possessed advanced biomechanical equipment, was ultimately wiped out by the Emperor's Son, the Iron Hand Salamanders, and hundreds of solar-assisted military extermination orders through a scorched-earth policy.

The Randan Empire utterly destroyed 19 habitable star systems, annihilated dozens of Titan legions, deployed over 30 Space Marines, and saw five Primarchs enter the fray, breaking through the Misty Starfield and penetrating deep into the edge of the Solar Starfield. In the end, even the Emperor led the Void Dragons into battle.

There are also the Space Wormmen who are basically immune to physical damage and whose ability to fight behind enemy lines surpasses that of Alphareth, and the Sahadur Sharkmen who have been locked in a 100-year struggle with the Space Wolves during the Great Expedition.

The Osiris Eldar, a race entirely composed of elemental beings, instantly wiped out a quarter of the Ultramarines' fleet, killing 6500 Ultramarines, and the Ulanor Empire, the first to invade the Solar Starfield and nearly strangle the Emperor.

Of course, the beast that almost strangled the emperor is largely fabricated; it's a crude farce staged by the weasel to promote its eldest son Horus as warlord, and it has no shame whatsoever.

However, it is undeniable that any one of these alternate forces possesses both numerical value and complex mechanisms, but their scale is not as large as the empire of that time. Otherwise, it would be uncertain who would have the last laugh. And this does not even include those monsters and demons that were deleted from the data.

Putting aside other things, even a legion like Atlas, which specializes in logistics, has used extermination orders more than once to destroy certain terrifying aliens that absolutely could not survive.

Mordred still remembers a type of alien that looked remarkably like a human, including beastmen, talking wild animals, and all sorts of other strange creatures.

I didn't think much of it at first, since they look like humans, but they are not human at all. They are humanoid creatures composed of a special gas, similar to hydrogen.

Especially the native chieftain of that world, who arrogantly called himself a god-king or something, tried to blast our steel warships apart with a trident, and directly issued an extermination order that set the world ablaze.

The Great Expedition was like a sieve; it wiped out all the terrifying aliens that could be eliminated, and crippled those that couldn't be eliminated. Otherwise, the Tau people wouldn't have been able to develop.

But this isn't absolute, for example, right now.

Mordred crushed the strange creature before him with a single step. The solid, thick chitinous carapace clanged as it was hit by bullets, leaving Mordred even more puzzled.

This world is strange, or rather, this world is alive. It has a very low-budget version of Katachon, but without Katachon's strength. Instead, it has given birth to a blue-skinned creature called the Na'vi.

This creature wasn't particularly strong, but it could manipulate the planet's native beasts through some kind of biological neural link, and everyone on it was a psionic being. Perhaps that's why it wiped out a human colony.

Mordred grabbed a blue-skinned Xenomorph that was howling incessantly. Looking at the blood-red cross on its face, he sensed some kind of warp contamination. Emerald green evil flames rose, instantly incinerating the pathetic Xenomorph leader to ashes.

Looking up at the sky, Mordred glanced at the floating islands suspended in the air, especially lingering for a moment on those dark blue crystals, and finally abandoned his plan to issue the extermination order.

The environment of this world is quite good. Although there was a bit of a subspace virus outbreak, it can be seamlessly transformed into a garden world with a little modification.

The only thing that's annoying is the Soul of this World. Instead of surrendering, it launched a beast tide to attack Atlas. But the key point is that this beast tide isn't Tyranitar. It hasn't evolved any bio-armor that can withstand explosive bombs.

Because the battle lines were stretched too thin and the expeditionary force was fighting too fast, it had become disconnected from the logistical support forces, forcing Mored to find his own way and start fighting in the wild.

The Third Expeditionary Force comprised a total of 13 fleets. Mordred led the First Fleet, which directly encountered an Orcish Empire.

After burning all the green-skinned mushrooms to death, the First Fleet encountered the Tyranids, the Chaos Fleet, Eldar pirates, a group of space undead who had completely lost their minds, and even a fragment of a Protoss.

The Mordred people were dumbfounded. They had traveled this route countless times, and it had become such a mess in just ten thousand years.

But there's no other way; since we're already here, we have no choice but to fight.

Due to the sudden surge in combat intensity, the First Fleet's supplies were rapidly depleted, and its original heavy firepower coverage was no longer effective. It could only fight, retreat, and hunt in the wild. In the end, even Mordred had to be sent into battle.

The good news is that the other 12 fleets are all doing well, having already recaptured important worlds within their target areas, firmly establishing a foothold in this kidney region. The fastest fleet, the Fourth Fleet, has even reached the Great Vortex.

However, the First Fleet, where Mordred was stationed, was plagued by strange occurrences. They encountered aliens, warp storms, and were even nearly wiped out by a supernova explosion.

This has left Atlas, who are best at using war to sustain war, running out of ammunition and supplies, and forced them to come to this barbaric world to replenish their resources.

Mordred already knew the reason, but he was stubborn and refused to admit it.

The reason for this is that there is a battle group assigned to the First Fleet—the Lamenters.

Before setting off, the expedition commander began to select his troops. After they had all been chosen, only these unwanted orphans remained in the square.

Thinking that things couldn't get any worse, Mordred accepted them all and added the Weeping Ones to her fleet.

However, this was only the beginning of the disaster. Mordred hadn't had a moment's rest in the past few months. He had even changed his original plan to beat Sisyphus twice a day to once every two days, and now he only beat him once a week.

"I was so stupid. I shouldn't have been so stubborn. Even I can't control these wailing people. We absolutely can't let them stay in my fleet. We have to send them out."

Thinking of this, Mordred immediately summoned his second henchman, Samel, and ordered him to send the Weeping Ones back to Holy Terra. They've only been here four months and they're already in this state; if they stay any longer, we'll all starve.

Perhaps there was some truth to it, because as the mourners reluctantly left the First Fleet, everything suddenly started to get better.

The opponents are no longer some space undead insectoid swarm, but rather cultists who can be recycled. At least they are fighting humans, and the presence of humans means that this world is a human colony, where resources can be recycled.

After another half month of confused fighting, the First Fleet finally regained its rhythm and arrived at a wild world called Gargarcia.

Upon seeing the Atlas ruins scattered throughout Gargarcia, Mordred knew that Tranquility was just around the corner. This world was once the outskirts of the Tranquil Subsector, but it had long lost its original natural landscape and was now filled with fortresses, becoming an outpost for monitoring Octareus.

The arrival of the expeditionary force greatly encouraged the local garrison. The period following the opening of the Great Rift had created a tense atmosphere in the surrounding world, with some even believing that the Empire had fallen.

This led to the emergence of some local separatist forces who wanted to emulate the ancient methods and establish a third empire. Fortunately, the political commissar stationed there was capable and directly executed those rebels.

Looking at the strikingly handsome old commissar named Arrek, Mordred couldn't help but sigh, "Gold shines wherever it is; at 500 years old, he's at the prime of his life."

Just as Mordred was preparing to head straight for Tranquility, Arek delivered some bad news.

"What? Ningjing has fallen? Which bastard dared to take over my hometown?"

"Reporting to the Grand Commander, it's a Chaos warlord named Huron!"
