Chapter 33 Drinking soup is truly a wonderful thing!
Chapter 33 Drinking soup is truly a wonderful thing!
"Father, my second brother forced me to do this. I'm innocent!"
Forgrim immediately chose to distance himself from Mordred. He didn't know if his second brother was dead or alive, but if his small frame were to take a punch, his head would probably fly off.
Before the emperor could speak, the shrewd and calculating Phoenix immediately knelt down, as if she had rehearsed it countless times. The emperor was stunned, his gaze lingering on the purple cheongsam for a moment, wondering how his offspring could have become like this in less than a year.
He was perfectly fine before he was delivered, but in the blink of an eye he's had children. Even an emperor couldn't accept that!
Confusion, bewilderment, followed by an uncontrollable surge in blood pressure, caused the blond giant to clench his fists involuntarily.
"Tell me, what have you and that bastard been doing all this time? Tell me everything clearly, without missing a single word."
[I can't die, I can't die! I still want to make the legion great again. I haven't participated in the Great Expedition yet, I haven't collected more beautiful dresses yet, Second Brother, please don't blame me!]
Forgrim didn't hold out for even a second, smoothly selling Mordred out of everything. Or rather, this was the Primarch's true reaction to the Emperor; Mordred's reaction was an exception.
Fortunately, Mordred has been really good to his little brother in the past six months. Phoenix has some conscience and hasn't told the little stories he usually makes up about the Emperor. He has also embellished some of his obviously treasonous little actions.
"Father, that's all. I've told you everything I know. As for the rest, only my second brother knows."
After he finished speaking, Forgrim immediately shut his mouth, sat on the ground like an ostrich, and screamed wildly in his heart, cursing Vulcan as a scoundrel.
To his surprise, the Emperor did not unleash the same Imperial Headbutt as he had on Mordred. Instead, he used telekinesis, employing his unparalleled psionic power to tear open space and pull over a group of Imperial Guards, directly sealing off the Hive Laboratory.
This miraculous scene made Fugrim question the meaning of life, and he couldn't help but ask:
"Father, are you really a god?"
If he had just played dead, that would have been fine, but unfortunately, Forgrim's words triggered a landmine, igniting the anger that had been building up.
With a roar of "I am not a god," the Emperor Flying Head Fist reappeared in the Milky Way, allowing Fu Laosan to truly experience the ultimate thrill of breaking through three times the speed of sound with his physical body.
Meanwhile, Mordred, who had taken the initiative, had already woken up. Looking at the huge, emerald-green planet in front of him, he felt dizzy and thought his neck was broken.
"Who am I? Where am I? What am I supposed to do?"
However, the reality was not what he felt. Fortunately, Mordred had enough health to survive. After his physical body broke through to the highest speed in the universe, he only fell into a state of suspended animation. His neck was stretched two meters at a ninety-degree angle. If this happened to anyone else, even the Primarch, they would have died on the spot.
Confused, Mordred stretched out his body. His two-meter-long neck allowed him to observe his surroundings in 360 degrees. After thinking for a while, he finally remembered what had happened to him.
"Someone, please save me! I can't go back."
Then, as Mordred watched the fully-insured cargo ship grow larger and larger in his field of vision, he decided to give up thinking about it while floating in near-Earth orbit.
The phoenix on the ground remained silent, the great dragon in the sky longed to return home, and only the emperor looked at the beehive with delight.
Fortunately, there were still reliable people. Seeing their Primarch being sent flying by a single punch, the Emperor's Son and Atlas immediately began a large-scale search, sending out their respective stretcher teams for rescue.
Poor Forgrim was punched into the Twisted Forest. When he was found, his eyes were lifeless, and he was lying in a pit, unconsciously muttering strange words like "toad, toad".
All around were twisted and shattered remains, still vaguely recognizable as the former swamp, leaving the emperor's sons completely bewildered.
Only the accompanying canine guide noticed something amiss; the dog's face had lost all color, and the big yellow dog had been frightened into a small white one.
"Hurry up, it'll be too late if we don't move now, you dead leg, get moving!" Thanks to the dog's quick thinking, otherwise the already small number of the Emperor's Sons might have been wiped out on the spot.
Mordred, on the other hand, was much more unlucky. Atlas couldn't find his father at all, and it wasn't until seven days later that he was found on the outer deck of a cargo ship anchored in the world of Angustorm.
Looking at their Primarch, who was lying on the ground with a large belly, his eyes rolling back, and drool dripping from his lips, the Atlas were at a loss, and resentment towards the Emperor rose in their hearts.
Clearly, their father was blasted into outer space by the Emperor, then unfortunately crashed into the deck of a cargo ship, and without the protection of a Geiger field, took a seven-day trip through warp space.
"How could Your Majesty treat your father like this? This is his own son! Such behavior is no different from that of the technological barbarians on Terra."
Black Knight leader Brian's face was grim. As one of the first Space Marines of the Imperium, he was a ruthless man who fought in the war to unify Terra and survived. In terms of seniority, few in any legion could compare to him.
But now this Terran veteran's words and actions are extremely rebellious. He's launching a tirade against the Emperor, calling him neither a true ruler nor a true father, and even inferior to Warmaster Orpeson.
But as the saying goes, concern can cloud judgment. Compared to Brian, a brainless brute, the more meticulous Goff discovered the problem:
"Wait a minute, listen carefully, it sounds like Father is muttering something, like some kind of soup?"
"Soup? Does Father want some soup?" Brian pushed past Goff and leaned closer to listen carefully, and sure enough, he heard some sounds.
"Soup, soup! This soup is so delicious! Let me go, you stingy old man, I want some soup!"
???
Brian and Goff exchanged a glance, thinking something was off. Where did their father drink the soup? He had been hanging on the cargo ship's deck the whole time; where would he get soup from in the warp?
With no other options, the two could only return to their home planet, intending to go back to Ningjing to seek a solution from the Emperor. It was His Majesty who had caused all of this, and he had to restore their original healthy bodies.
Fueled by this resentment, the Abomination Paradigm began speeding recklessly through the warp, smashing countless unfortunate warp creatures to pieces before they could dodge, attracting numerous predators to scramble for its prey.
But soon these predators scattered and fled, because an even more terrifying predator was feeding voraciously.
Five days later, the stretcher team returned in a hurry and carried Mordred towards the hive capital, where they encountered Primarch Forgrim on the way.
In just five days, Forgrim was completely worn out. He even shuddered at the sound of the transport ship landing, as if he had been left with some kind of psychological trauma.
"Second Brother has been found? You've returned just in time! The Emperor is waiting for you at the Hive, hurry!"
Upon receiving the news, the stretcher team rushed into the Hive Laboratory without hesitation. But when they entered, they were dumbfounded to find the annoying figures of the Imperial Guards everywhere. Their base had been raided.
The Emperor didn't vent his anger on the Space Marines because of Mordred; instead, he simply ordered them to put his rebellious son on the operating table, the stench of which made him nauseous.
However, when Brian lifted the white sheet, the big blond man was still startled.
"Holy crap, what kind of monster is this?"
