Infinite Gods Reign Supreme

Chapter 65 Things in India are always so bad.

Chapter 65: Things in India are always so bad.
The task was quite lenient; thirty days was even enough time for the reincarnators to search the entire country of India from south to north. The punishment for failure wasn't severe either, because the point at which negative scores were settled coincided with the end of a reincarnation cycle.

The next match is a team battle; killing any enemy member who has unlocked their genetic lock will earn you a B-rank item. For the Celestial Team, who should be the strongest team by any means, this shouldn't be too difficult.

Therefore, the only focus now is...

What is a Tabad?

The reincarnators exchanged bewildered glances, only Valentina's eyes flashing with an incessant blue light. After all, considering the disastrous consequences of leaking information about the main god, the reincarnators hadn't stored all the film and television information from the past and future hundred years into their personal databases before their return. This meant that when encountering unfamiliar terms, they could only rely on hacking into the network and searching their memories.

“…I can’t find it.” Valentina shook her head. “Apart from this hotel, there is no information about the concept of ‘Tabbad’ on any public network I can access. But I analyzed the etymology of the word, and it should refer to an ancient region…it’s an ancient Indian language.”

"This means someone is hiding this information, or perhaps, this information was already largely unknown long before the network system was established... It seems we can only seek help from those who know. Ranger, the hotel owner in front of us seems to be carrying this secret; perhaps we can find out more about him?"

Si Ming turned his head to look at the hotel owner, who was slumped unconscious in a chair. His name was Lava, an elderly gentleman with gray hair and beard. And this name was quite ordinary in India.

A wisp of dark battle aura dismantled the gun that he had been clutching tightly even in his unconscious state. With the ammunition and firing mechanism removed, the entire gun was no longer stable, and the disassembled weapon was then reassembled in front of Si Ming.

“We can find some information… Lava appears to be the son of a wealthy businessman. Shortly after he came of age, his father disappeared in an unknown accident. He then inherited his father's fortune and soon after opened the current hotel. Wait, this hotel experienced a serious financial crisis twenty years ago… but he successfully resolved the problem by borrowing a large sum of money from the bank.”

“I’ve heard that investing and lending in India is very risky.” Yu Zhiwei scoffed, her voice sounding strange because she was wearing a gas mask. “Whether you’re a foreigner or a local, unless you’re deeply rooted in the local community, you’ll suffer a lot in the process.”

“That’s a bit of a stereotype, Traveler.” Simin’s gaze shifted from the reassembled gun to the old man. “But all stereotypes have their reasons—it’s time to wake up after pretending to be asleep for so long, Mr. Lava. Perhaps you could answer that question for us?”

The old man suddenly opened his eyes, his hand that was gripping the gun tightening abruptly—only then did he notice the small-caliber pistol hovering in front of Si Ming. However, he was not afraid; instead, his eyes held a certain determination.

“I have told you everything I know. You will not get anything out of me by asking any more questions. Kill me. I am no longer of any use to you.”

The reincarnators exchanged glances.

"It seems you mistake us for someone else. But it doesn't matter. Since you say you've told us everything you know, why don't you repeat it again?"

The old man was slightly taken aback.

His lips trembled, as if he wanted to say something. But the next moment, a loud crashing sound came from outside the door!

'boom--'

"Arrived at the target area, making the arrest..."

A group of fully armed Indian policemen burst through the door. However, their gazes were not focused on the reincarnators or Mr. Lava—the four mind flayers in the four corners of the room were operating at full power, and beams of azure light burst from their eyes, which were covered by cloaks.

Mind distortion and group suggestion—this was something Si Ming could already do with the burrowing worms as soon as he returned to the world. Now, he does it even more effortlessly, with Valentina's help with electronic devices as well.

Indian police officers filed in.

They searched high and low, looking around. They walked past the reincarnators and the hotel owner, but ignored these clearly living people standing there—one of them, who seemed to be in a superior position, strode to the window and looked down, then, amidst the bewildered looks, spoke in a voice reporting upwards.

"The target is not in the office, and we haven't found his escape route yet..."

Behind me, I heard hurried footsteps.

"Boss! We found traces of an explosion upstairs... and there was a firefight on the rooftop not long ago!"

The officer suddenly waved his hand.

"go!"

They quickly left, leaving behind a mess. In the ransacked office, Si Ming finally saw a hint of surprise in his boss's eyes.

“I could influence you just as I influence them, Mr. Lava,” Simin nodded politely to him. “But we didn’t. Because we’re not locals, we’re outsiders solving problems. And I think you happen to have a problem here that needs our help.”

The old man swallowed.

He could, of course, stubbornly argue that the reincarnators were merely staging a charade. But that's pointless.

"...You really aren't with them?"

"Heh." Yu Zhiwei let out a contemptuous laugh typical of a white-faced character. "Professor, I suggest we save some time and use a more efficient method to solve the problem... I can't stand being in India for another second."

"Wait! I'll talk, I'll talk!" The hotel owner finally looked anxious and quickly raised his hand. "But this isn't the place to tell secrets... Take me away! You must escort me to a safe place before I tell you everything I know!"

well.

But one can't just back down so easily while putting on an act. Yu Zhiwei crossed her arms and spoke with even more contempt.

"Professor, in my experience, cooperating with Indians often only yields a pile of sacred cow dung. I suggest you be careful. Or, hand him over to me—"

The sound stopped.

The reincarnators all turned their gazes away.

The Indian police officers who had been lured to the rooftop by the commotion caused by the reincarnators did not reappear. However, at the end of the destroyed gate, the reincarnators still saw two figures.

One is tall, one is short. One is thin, one is fat.

One was a scarred ascetic monk, the other a glamorous temple priest.

They possessed extraordinary abilities, allowing them to see through the mind-stealers' distortions of ordinary people's perceptions. The ascetic monks among them remained silent with their eyes closed. The temple priests, however, clasped their hands together, offering a deep salute to the reincarnators.

“Ah… Venerable Aditya… Master Krishran…” Rava, standing behind the reincarnators, was pale. Clearly, he recognized these two religious figures.

Siming's eyes flickered, and the group suggestion released by Duo Tou Si was canceled, replaced by an invisible shield separating the area behind Lava. Both of these uninvited guests possessed traces of gathered energy, and their visit was not within the surveillance network hacked by Valentina.

Is this some kind of hidden insurance? It seems the locals are really determined to get it.

“You should not be here. Please leave. This is an internal matter for India.”

The temple priest wore a broad smile, every curve of his plump face contorted in a smile. He appeared gentle, yet a powerful sense of danger lurked beneath the surface.

"Aditiya means sun, and Krishnan means darkness. Both of them were high-caste Brahmins, but their information cannot be found on the public internet."

Valentina's voice rang out from the nanosuit's built-in communication system.

"Do you know us?" Si Ming looked them over, his tone unhurried.

"Of course, you are heroes who have saved tens of millions of people... nameless and unknown dark powerhouses, your names have long been known throughout the entire hidden world."

The priest's gaze swept over the reincarnators.

"A powerful swordsman..."

"A ranger as swift as lightning, as sharp as a hawk..."

"A bishop who wields divine power and can use it without restraint..."

"A traveler who is unpredictable and can kill his enemies without warning..."

"And you, the professor who can wield rocks and steel and unite all of these people..." His gaze swept over Luo Yinglong and Almalia, who had no information to offer, and lingered briefly on Tuotou Si. "But now it seems that your true strength lies in manipulating death."

The temple priest sighed softly.

"...You should live in myths and epic tales, not in this decadent and insane age... Please leave, powerful dark beings. We do not wish to be your enemies, and please do not force India to be your enemy."

Si Ming looked at them and suddenly let out a soft laugh.

"You know who we are and how powerful we are. But your first thought is to expel us instead of cooperating and winning us over. It seems you are very certain that we can't cooperate with you."

The reincarnators have only done one thing in this world that is famous worldwide—to eliminate evil spirits.

The ascetic monk suddenly opened his eyes, and the priest's expression changed drastically.

"Your legs are shaking, you two."

"Move—" Before they could even utter a sound, a golden aura exploded from their bodies. The protective barrier they had obtained from the Hindu gods shattered before Yu Zhiwei's eyes. And along with it, the observation glass outside the office also shattered!
That was a sniper bullet.

The sniper bullet was aimed at the back of the hotel owner's head.

It was successfully resisted by the telekinetic barrier that Si Ming had set up beforehand. The two religious figures then retreated rapidly outwards amidst the exploding halo of light.

"Kill them!" they shouted sharply.

"Kill India's enemies!"
