Chapter 524, Section 522: The Guardian Curse

Let me explain.

Professor Lu Ping spoke slowly,

"The Patronus Charm is the most famous known spell and one of the most powerful defensive spells..."

This is an extremely complex and difficult-to-cast spell that can evoke a semi-tangible positive force, namely a guardian deity.

It can repel Dementors and Groundbats, creatures that have no other means of defense.

Lupin clearly had a deep understanding of the Patronus Charm, and he explained it gently.

"However, the vast majority of wizards and witches are unable to summon any form of guardian spirit..."

"So what do they do when they face Dementors?"

Ron asked.

Lupin remained silent for a moment, then gently shook his head.

The young wizards suddenly felt a chill run down their spines.

If it weren't for Sheen's Patronus, what would the Dementors have done to them?

What's most terrifying is that they are completely powerless to resist.

Can I learn it?

Hermione suddenly asked,

"Professor Lupin?"

After Hermione ate a piece of chocolate, she had clearly begun to accept the professor, who came from a bookstore background.

"The Patronus Charm is widely considered a highly advanced form of magic, far exceeding the level of ordinary wizards. Miss Granger."

This spell is particularly profound and complex, and many experienced wizards and witches encounter difficulties when using it.

Therefore, even summoning an unseen guardian deity is considered a sign of possessing superior magical power.

Lupin did not answer Hermione's question directly, but instead introduced her in a way that made Hermione lower her head slightly.

"And what about Sheen? I just saw... a cat?"

Ron scratched his head and asked.

“Mr. Green… I’m sorry, everyone, Mr. Green is the most talented wizard I have ever met.”

I find it hard to imagine that a wizard could summon a physical guardian spirit at this age.

Of all the wizards I've ever met, not a single one has accomplished such a feat.

Lupin said with a touch of emotion.

“Oh, of course. That’s Sheen…”

Ron nodded in agreement.

Lupin glanced around and noticed that almost all the young wizards had expressions of affirmation on their faces.

This surprised him somewhat.

"Anything you think is impossible, just add Sheen's name in front of it, and it becomes a fact."

Ron said quietly, with a hint of emotion in his voice, and shrugged.

"Is that right?"

Lupin smiled.

"You'll find out later, Lu..."

"Lupin."

"Professor Lu Ping."

Ron had such an old-fashioned look that it was somewhat amusing.

With a rumbling whistle, the train finally stopped at Hogsmeade Station.

Everyone got off the bus, and the scene became chaotic.

The owl was hooting, the cat was meowing, and Neville's pet toad was croaking under his hat.

The small platform was chilled to the bone, and a torrential downpour was freezing cold.

"First-year students, this way!"

A familiar voice called out.

Sheen had just gotten off the train when he saw Hagrid's massive figure at the other end of the platform, beckoning the panicked first-year students to come and cross the lake in the traditional way. "Hey! Sheen!"

Hagrid waved at Sheen and mouthed something.

Sheehan knew that it was to remind him to go to Hagrid's hut to discuss the first class of the new semester.

Sheehan was, after all, Hagrid's teaching assistant, even though he was still in school...

But no matter what, Hagrid felt he had to discuss the details of the class with Sheen before he could feel at ease.

Naturally, Sheen didn't want Buckbeak to be sent to the execution platform again, so he gladly accepted Hagrid's invitation.

With a few crisp clicks, Harry and the others got out of the car.

Just like Harry, a drawn-out, gloating voice came from near Harry's ear to Sheehan.

"You fainted, Potter? Is Longbottom telling the truth? You really fainted?"

Malfoy shoved the new student aside with his elbow, blocking Harry on the platform leading to the carriage, his face beaming with a wicked glint in his grey eyes.

"Get out of the way, Malfoy."

Ron said his jaw was clenched tightly.

"You fainted too, Weasley?"

Malfoy said loudly,

"That horrible old Dementor scared you too, didn't it, Weasley?"

Is there a problem?

A gentle voice said.

Professor Lu Ping got out of the car.

Malfoy glared arrogantly at Professor Lupin, taking in the patches on his robes and his tattered trunk.

他 说:

“Oh, no—uh—Professor.”

There was a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

Before he could say anything more, he saw those straight, green pupils.

Sheehan was slightly moved, thinking that Malfoy was practically Harry's shadow. Whenever Harry was in trouble or embarrassed, Malfoy would appear, and he would want to bring a hundred cameras to take pictures.

As Malfoy left dejectedly and they arrived outside the castle in a carriage, Sheehan would realize that the whole thing stemmed from Harry's rejection of Malfoy's arrogant offer in the hall.

But none of that matters.

Sheehan thought that the Malfoy family had never accomplished anything for Voldemort.

Outside the castle.

The young wizards followed the crowd up the stone steps, through the majestic oak gate, and into the spacious and deep foyer.

There were burning torches there, and a magnificent marble staircase led upstairs.

To the right, the auditorium door was open. Sheen walked towards it, glancing at the enchanted ceiling—

Tonight, the sky was overcast and dark with heavy clouds when a voice shouted:
"Sheen—you brat—and Potter! I need to see both of you!"

Sheen felt himself inexplicably shrink, and he and a surprised Harry turned around together.

Professor McGonagall, the Head of Gryffindor House and Hogwarts' Transfiguration teacher, was shouting at them over their heads.

She was a stern-looking witch with her hair tied in a tight bun and square glasses over her sharp eyes.

“There’s no need to be so tense—I just want to talk to you in my office, Potter—”

She spoke to Harry, then turned to look at Sheehan.
"As for you, you child—you should be more nervous—"

Finally, she turned around and gave instructions.
“Go over there, Weasley, Granger, Longbottom, and you, Finley.”

The young wizards stared wide-eyed as Professor McGonagall led Harry and Sheehan away from the chatting and laughing crowd.

They walked with Professor McGonagall through the foyer, up the marble staircase, and then down a corridor.

Professor McGonagall's office was small, but a warm fire burned brightly in it.

As soon as they entered, Professor McGonagall gestured for them to sit down, and she herself stopped next to Sheehan, then suddenly said:

"Professor Lupin sent an owl ahead of time to say that you've encountered something not so pleasant—"
