Hogwarts Study Panel
Chapter 513, Section 511: A Chapter of Astonishment
Chapter 513, Section 511: Surprised Words
Hogwarts remained as quiet as ever.
Apart from Sheehan, who had returned, Hogwarts did not allow any other young wizards to remain at the school.
The professors here rarely leave, so Sheen can receive one-on-one guidance from all of them if he can leave the cellar.
Upon returning from the Leaky Cauldron, Sheen began his Fiendish Curse practice that morning.
A gentle breeze swept by, and the roaring flames gradually filled half of the underground classroom.
As Sheen listened to the panel rate his control this time as "Expert," he pondered how to reshape dark magic.
Yes, reinventing dark magic.
Magic is born from the inner order of a wizard, and Sheen can imagine that cruelty and murder have always existed in the wizard's beliefs.
After all, the ancient wizards faced a dangerous magical world with brutal and wild magic. To survive in that dangerous magical world, wizards had to possess such violent power.
This shows that in their pursuit of greater power, ancient sorcerers distorted their own hearts and forged their own cruel beliefs.
But if ancient wizards could create powerful but mind-corrupting black magic, then now, Sheen can also re-examine the source of black magic, reshape [order] for a different purpose, and seek [wisdom].
This is a truly outlandish plan, and so far it has only existed in Sheen's thoughts.
But if it can be completed, the entire magical world will undergo a true transformation.
Dark wizards are known for their cruelty and power, and when they embrace dark magic, they also sacrifice their conscience.
But what if one day, black magic no longer needed the vengeful hearts of the benevolent and the furious rage of the pure-hearted—
Does this mean that black magic has become a power that wizards can control, like a spell?
Sheen knew that cruelty would never end.
But will cruelty no longer be a shortcut, attracting fallen wizards?
Today at Hogwarts is a truly splendid morning.
The sky was a clear, hazy pinkish-blue.
Even through the small window, Sheen could see the tall beech tree.
The green branches, fuzzy and edged with gold, watched over the wizards of Hogwarts throughout the ages.
Sheehan knew that Professor Snape had once studied the exam questions down there, his brow furrowed, just as he was now.
"You're lost in thought..."
Now Professor Snape's sinister voice appeared.
"I'm sorry, Professor."
Sheen immediately came to his senses.
"Oh--"
Snape stared at him for a while, his expression unchanged.
“Control, Green. Unless you want to end up like my foolish students, burned to ashes by your own inner fire, you’d better control yourself at all times, even when it’s about to go out…”
As he spoke, he stepped down from the podium and approached the young wizard who was already somewhat tired from practicing the Fiendfyre spell for a long time.
"Now……"
He stared at Sheehan.
"I'm going to teach you how to resist the Imperius Curse. You'd better memorize every single word..."
Upon hearing this, Sheen looked up and deftly put away his wand.
"Listen carefully—Dumbledore doesn't want you to make contact with him—"
But for Green, accidents never choose their time or the person—
If you're willing to learn in a more brutal way—waiting for someone else to recite the spell for you and completely control you—that's fine.
But I disagree.
After Snape finished speaking, he gripped his wand tightly.
"I'm going to teach you how to resist it, how to fight it—watch me!"
Snape turned his gaze to the living creatures in the shop window and cast the Imperius Curse on them.
Sheen saw that, under the influence of the spell, the animals were doing one unusual thing after another.
The mouse hopped and skipped around in front of the cat three times, but didn't resist when the cat bit it.
A toad is mimicking a squirrel, trying to climb an oak tree outside the window; a venomous snake is performing a series of amazing maneuvers that it could never do under normal circumstances.
Their bodies were no longer under their own control, and they only returned to normal after Professor Snape removed the spell.
“Green,”
Snape said in a low voice,
"Your turn. Remember—resist me—"
Sheen paused slightly and walked to the center of the underground classroom.
In the classroom, many crucibles were standing between the wooden tables, and copper balances and jars of ingredients were placed on the tables.
Snape drew closer amidst the swirling smoke.
He raised his wand, pointed it at Sheen, and said:
"Soul leaving the body!"
Sheen felt a strange sensation.
He seemed lightheaded, all thoughts and worries swept away, leaving only a hazy, intangible joy.
He stood there, feeling particularly relaxed and carefree.
Then he heard Professor Snape's voice echoing in some distant corner of his empty mind:
Come here... come here...
But why? Another voice awoke behind his head.
"Why did he go there?" the second voice asked.
Come here... The first voice appeared again;
Why… the second voice said, its tone more resolute;
"Come here!" The first voice was louder.
As the argument reached a stalemate, the two voices suddenly paused, only to be quickly drowned out by other sounds:
“Sheen Green, my student, don’t sleep.”
A voice said.
“Sheen Green, my friend, wake up.”
Another sound repeated.
So Sheen regained his body, and Snape was surprised to see some mist emanating from the amulet on the young wizard's chest.
This fog was white and misty, unlike normal fog; it seemed more like something yet to manifest.
Snape examined them closely and was stunned.
"professor?"
At this moment, Sheen walked over and asked with a hint of curiosity.
"Not bad—"
Snape said quickly.
"You held on, no, it wasn't you who held on..."
As he spoke, he fell into deep thought.
Sheehan could see Professor Snape's brow furrowed; he would look at his chest one moment and then squint his eyes the next.
What are you still hiding from me?
He paced back and forth, finally bending down in front of Sheen, his face utterly gloomy.
……
Sheen explained the border situation without much effort.
Snape stared at him coldly, and his first words took Sheehan by surprise:
"The Void Rune, a sacred artifact of Vargadu, has never produced a legendary creation of Vargadu..."
The power to grant wizards the ability to walk in legendary lands, the magic to traverse the dreams of souls… since it’s not just a rumor—
Tell me, Sheehan Green, what about mine? What about my dreams?
