Chapter 429, Section 427: Course Selection

Chapter 429, Section 427: Course Selection
The sky is bright.

The ward was still quiet.

Sheen's hospital bed was completely surrounded by candy.

It's unclear when it started, but it seems that all the wizards at Hogwarts knew he had a sweet tooth.

Therefore, these chocolate frog boxes and drinks could no longer be piled up on the table and had to be placed on the floor.

Sheehan tidied them up well, so they didn't block the passageway, and Mrs. Pomfrey let them be.

Now, through the chocolate frog's cardboard, awakened along with Sheen by the faint morning mist is a peculiar photograph.

This is a photograph that Sheehan always carried with him. It was originally a group photo taken by Justin in the Christmas chapel, but now it seems to have been imbued with some magical power.

When other wizards looked at the photograph, there was nothing unusual about it, but when Sheen stared at it, some of the once vibrant figures lost their color.

Headmaster Dumbledore's grey eyes still held a kind expression, while Professor Snape's grey robes remained imposing.

Every now and then, some gray-white figures would appear. No one knew what this meant, nor what the purpose of casting this spell was.

On this bright morning, a squirrel darted out of Professor Quirrell's colorful body. Sheehan watched quietly as it sniffed around, eventually running back into the photograph.

Learning the Guardian Charm gave him some insight, especially when the sunlight climbed onto the stone wall of the school hospital and illuminated the photo in his hand.

He paid special attention to the extra people in the photograph.

The handsome yet weathered Sirius Black was drinking red wine heartily, while Lupin, dressed in new clothes, held a wine glass, the red liquid swirling around...

The only odd thing is that, compared to Sheen in the photo, their figures appear as a dilapidated grayish-white.

The Hogwarts bells rang, and Sheen put away the photos.

The Guardian Charm revealed some of his thoughts, thoughts that were originally hidden but are now partially revealed.

This is exactly what he's worried about...

Did these wizards meet a fate worthy of the suffering they had endured?
As for him, he has already received enough from Hogwarts.

As dawn broke, Sheen walked out of the school hospital.

Mrs. Pomfrey informed him that it was time for him to be discharged from the hospital.

……

In the corridor, Sheen was still practicing his staffless spellcasting, manipulating books to float in the air and sensing the techniques of using magic within them.

After all, magic without the support of a wand is "barbaric".

This term is Sheen's summary. After rigorous comparative experiments, he discovered that magic released without a wand is more destructive, but also more prone to getting out of control.

Just like the magic displayed by the young wizard during a period of magical upheaval and out of control, it is volatile and unruly.

However, if magic goes out of control, it may not operate according to the wizard's will.

Therefore, this requires wizards to have stronger mental power and more mature skills.

Under Sheen's tutelage, or rather, under Ravenclaw's guidance, Sheen only managed to grasp the basics of two spells.

One is a levitation spell, and the other is a cleansing spell.

It is one of the spells that Sheen is most familiar with.

Early in the morning, the corridor was quiet because it was so early. Sheen's notebook floated out, and there were more words on the top page.

[Raise the proficiency of the four spells to Master level], [Verify whether Legilimency can be stacked].

This is Sheen's recent plan, and it is a necessary one.

After all, in the magical world, the most important thing for wizards is to constantly improve their magical abilities.

He looked with slight satisfaction as his proficiency in the Levitation Charm increased by another three hundred points. Then, he subconsciously looked up and bumped into two familiar wizards at the entrance of the Transfiguration office.

"Professor McGonagall, is this true? Can I choose all the courses now?"

Hermione couldn't suppress the smile on her lips.

“Miss Granger, you are a model student at Hogwarts, and you deserve this.”

Professor McGonagall's lips formed a taut line, her expression a mixture of seriousness and gentleness.

“Oh, model student, professor, I…” Hermione seemed about to say a name, but then suddenly stopped.

What is she thinking? The magical items she could have requested, the other party has probably already obtained...

"what?"

Professor McGonagall asked.

"Nothing, Professor, I just mean this is absolutely fantastic!"

Hermione let out a soft gasp of excitement.

“I agree, Miss Granger, and I hope you will make good use of it.”

Professor McGonagall turned and left.

Hermione watched the professor's retreating figure, then glanced at the snow-covered grass outside the window, blew warm air into her face, and left with her face red from the last snowstorm.

Sheen glanced at it thoughtfully, then left the corridor.

When we arrived at the auditorium, it was already in an uproar.

Sheen looked at the notice board, which said that Hogsmeade Week was approaching.

No wonder the wizards have become increasingly active...

As he was thinking, he noticed some new information added—course selection was coming up soon.

Sheen was taken aback.

As is well known, Hogwarts' curriculum is divided into compulsory and elective courses. Sheehan has been studying compulsory courses for nearly two years, but elective courses will not be officially open to young wizards until their third year.

This is partly due to the limited energy of the young wizards, and partly because Hogwarts School is waiting for the young wizards' magical abilities to mature.

"Okay, everyone. Listen to me."

In the third year of Hogwarts, there are five elective courses to choose from: Protection of Magical Creatures, Ancient Rune Studies, Muggle Studies, Arithmetic Divination, and Divination.

I consulted with a senior student from Hufflepuff to get a general idea of these elective courses and compiled it into notes.

After Sheehan took his seat, Justin quickly produced several notebooks as if by magic.

“That’s great, Justin! I have to say, we need to be careful, this will affect our entire future.”

After praising her with a hint of excitement, she spoke to Harry, Ron, and the others.

They were all carefully studying the new course list and making marks on it.

"Thank you, Justin, you're always so thoughtful. But I just want to give up Potions class."

Harry said.

"impossible,"

Ron said dejectedly,

"I still have to take all the original subjects, otherwise I would have dropped Defense Against the Dark Arts class a long time ago."

"But that course is very important!"

Hermione said in surprise.

“I don’t think Lockhart’s teaching method is necessarily suitable.”

Ron said,
"I didn't learn anything from him except for not letting the sprites out."

Do you remember? What indispensable role did Mr. Green's guidance play in Lockhart's development?

After he finished speaking, the others couldn't help but smile.

Justin and Hermione even exchanged a quick glance with Sheehan.

Hermione's eyes gleamed with smugness as they exposed Lockhart's crimes.

Justin, on the other hand, was mild-mannered; he did the right thing.
