Chapter 36 Extraordinary Dog
Chapter 36 Extraordinary Dog
From the day Cillian arrived in this strange world, he understood that life was absurd.
In the days that followed, whether it was learning of the existence of demons, embarking on the path of the extraordinary, or the destruction of White Cliff Town, all these events repeatedly proved this statement true.
As for now?
Cillian found it more absurd than absurd.
The big white dog was throwing a tantrum on the ground, looking like it had been neutered by the vet.
"What's going on?! Why am I a dog?!"
Amidst these ghostly screams, Cillian's serious expression crumbled.
"Be quiet."
Cillian kicked the big white dog again, rendering it weak.
The big white dog lay belly up on the yellow earth, looking like it had eaten rat poison and was about to die.
Seeing this, Cillian wanted to laugh, but the sadness surging in his heart prevented him from making any expression.
After confirming that the big white dog posed no threat, Cillian walked away expressionlessly, pushed the motorcycle up, checked the malfunction, and saw if it could be repaired.
The big white dog tilted its head and asked again, "So, friend, where is this?"
"Outer Flames Frontier".
Without turning his head, Cillian said, "As for exactly where on the outer frontier, I'm not quite sure, but it's very close to the Dark World."
"Oh...no wonder this land is so barren."
The big white dog looked up at this land where life was forbidden and nodded repeatedly.
Ciri opened the lid; the metal parts shattered into iron filings, mixed with oil stains, and the inner wall was covered with messy scratches.
Given Cillian's current situation and the tools he has, there is no possibility of repairing the motorcycle.
Cillian sighed helplessly, patted his old friend who had been with him for so long, picked up the rest of his luggage, and turned to leave.
"Hey! Where are you going?"
Seeing Cillian leave, the big white dog hurriedly followed.
Cillian ignored it and strode forward under the scorching sun.
"Pause!"
The big white dog stood up on its hind legs, wobbling slightly.
Cillian then stopped and began to examine the large white dog.
The big white dog was similar in size to a large breed, with long white fur all over its body. The fur on its head had been shaved off, and there were surgical scars on its exposed skin, with congealed scabs in the gaps.
It appears to have undergone some kind of inhumane brain surgery, and the surgery has only recently ended.
Based on these clues, Cillian was certain that the big white dog had smuggled itself from the spirit world into the real world following the anomalies of the previous night.
"Where are you going?"
"This has nothing to do with you."
"Then why are you in such a hurry?"
Cillian glanced at the blazing sun overhead, then looked around at the desolate wilderness.
"As far as I know, the nearest city-state is several days away, and my only means of transportation, as you can see, is broken, and my supplies are running low."
Cillian said patiently, "I must hurry on my way, or I will become one of the withered bones in the wilderness."
The big white dog circled around Ciri, sniffed the area, and then trotted over to the motorcycle to smell the strong smell of engine oil.
It turned its head and said, "It's broken? I can fix it."
"you?"
Cillian doubted he had misheard; it was questionable whether its paws could even grip a wrench.
The big white dog proved itself through its actions, a glimmer of light appearing in its eyes, its inner energy surging.
"Can you use source energy?"
While looking shocked, Cillian raised the Boiling Sword.
"You're a superhuman... a superhuman dog?"
Cillian knew that extraordinary beings were not uncommon in the outside world, but he never expected that even a dog could wield source energy.
"I told you, I'm a human being, I'm just... never mind, let's fix this thing first."
The big white dog didn't argue with Cillian. "Not only do you need to travel, but I do too. Otherwise, in a few days, there might be another dog skeleton next to yours." "Okay... alright."
Cillian was at a loss for words.
Fortunately, the big white dog seemed to be a good dog; it showed no hostility towards me and had no air of unease.
Ciri still cautiously approached the big white dog, lest the dog suddenly turn against him and attack him.
After a moment, Cillian realized he was overthinking it; the big white dog was indeed repairing the motorcycle.
In a way I've never seen before.
A deep blue energy gushed from the white dog's body, like glowing tentacles, slowly sinking into the earth beneath its feet.
The ground trembled slightly, and patches of gray-black dust emerged from the loess, gathered together, and gradually merged into a gray-black mass.
"First, extract the metal from the environment, then... smelt it."
The big white dog muttered incantations, and the energy flowed according to its will, heating, melting, and forging the lump.
Only then did Cillian realize that the grayish-black dust was actually a pile of fine iron slag.
The big white dog is using its energy source to remelt them back into metal blocks.
The metal block continued to deform, gradually taking on the shape of the damaged parts, and hovered steadily in the air.
"Disassemble and reassemble".
At the command of the big white dog, the motorcycle engine automatically disintegrated, the parts floated up, changed their positions, and then reassembled into one.
In the void, the clanging and hammering continued, and sparks flickered in the gaps between the metal joints.
"Okay, try twisting it."
The big white dog wagged its tail excitedly.
Cillian walked over with a skeptical look. "So what if it's fixed? I checked, the fuel tank is leaking too, and inside..."
"It's alright, I've modified its engine. It can now be powered by source energy, although it's the most basic type of source energy engine, it's enough."
The big white dog immediately explained.
Cillian straddled the motorcycle with a puzzled expression. Several metal wires appeared on the handlebars. He clenched his fist and activated his Origin Energy.
Suddenly, an inexplicable attraction rose from the metal wire, and Cillian involuntarily injected his source energy into it. Beneath the thick metal shell, the roar of an engine resounded.
"You actually fixed it...and even modified it?"
Cillian stared in shock at the big white dog, feeling that his life was becoming increasingly absurd.
This big white dog can not only talk, but also repair motorcycles, and can even convert an internal combustion engine into a power engine.
What a hell.
The big white dog said in a nonchalant tone, "What's so difficult about that?"
"you……"
"Let's stop for a moment and think about it."
The big white dog raised its front paw, interrupting Cillian's question, then closed its eyes, looked up at the sky, and entered into deep thought.
A few minutes later, the big white dog said in a serious tone.
“I have no hostility towards you. You can put your sword away now.”
Cillian cooperated by sheathing the Boiling Sword. "I can also be sure that you have no hostility towards me."
"Not only that, we will also be cooperating in the future."
The big white dog analyzed, "I need your fighting ability, and you need me to make sure your motorcycle doesn't break down on the journey ahead."
"I can accept cooperation, but before that, I need to know who you are, where you come from, and why you suddenly appeared here?"
When the last question was raised, the terrifying sound of the hammer echoed in Cillian's ears, and the rusty red metal behemoth appeared before his eyes, along with the mysterious craftsman who existed between reality and illusion.
The big white dog answered honestly, "To be honest, I don't know either."
Then it added.
"Can we discuss these things later?"
The big white dog glanced at the blazing sun overhead, then stuck out its tongue and panted heavily.
"I think I'm about to get heatstroke."
