Chapter 44 Remarks on the launch
Chapter 44 Remarks on the launch
Thank you all for your support. This book will be available tomorrow, around 11 p.m.
Because I'm writing too slowly, I should be able to post three chapters tomorrow night at 11 PM to wrap up this part of the story so everyone can read it all at once.
As a newcomer, the book's success far exceeded my expectations, which inevitably made me feel a bit anxious. I would spend an entire night writing each chapter, then send it to my other author friend, Ji Yuanli, for review. We would then discuss the issues with each chapter, revise it, and only release it when we were both satisfied.
For example, it took the two of us two two days to revise Chapter 43 before we were satisfied.
Because this is most likely my first book, and probably my last, I hope to do my best to write it well. No matter how it turns out in the future, I can say without regret that I did my best. It's just that I'm really not suited for this job, not suited to writing novels.
As you can probably guess, the inspiration for this book is actually the Eternal Illya, which is an old trope that was popular for a while last year. But at the time, I wasn't thinking of writing a novel about it. I was waiting for someone else to write it, but after a year, I didn't see anyone write it. So I thought this idea probably wasn't suitable for starting a book, and I didn't think much of it.
Then, in April of this year, a friend of mine suddenly saw that video clip on Bilibili and came over to recite quotes to me in a really cringey way. It made me laugh, and I thought it was quite interesting. So we talked about how to expand the idea into a novel, and that's how the prototype of this book came about.
Around June, I wrote about ten chapters and showed the first three chapters to another friend, Ji Yuanli, who now helps me revise the manuscript every day. He was amazed and said that this book was very interesting and should be published quickly.
I wasn't very confident at the time, so I went to an editor to submit my manuscript. The editor said that since I had a wild way of doing things, I could give it a try. After reading the second chapter, they approved it for me. I was planning to save up some manuscripts in June and then publish them, but then something came up at home and I was busy looking for a job, so I gave up. At the time, I thought that no one would read it anyway, so I just let it go.
As a result, my job fell through in August, I had a fight with my family, and I was feeling desperate and didn't know what to do. I found more than ten chapters of my draft and went back to the editor. I shamelessly asked the editor if I still wanted it, and the editor just said to publish it.
I thought that getting full attendance bonus would be enough, but I never expected to get into Sanjiang.
I'm truly grateful to my two friends, the editor, and especially the readers who have supported me all this time. Regarding the protagonist's personality, it was conceived from the very beginning of the book, and the subsequent plot is largely intertwined with it. I already had over ten chapters in reserve when I published the book, so changing it was impossible. Personally, I really like this personality, and I know some readers might not accept it, but there's nothing I can do about that.
After all, this book only exists because of the protagonist's personality.
There's a lot more content about the protagonist's personality to come. I think I can reveal the title of one chapter now: "Teaching Father a Lesson at the Funeral Hall." As for the content, you'll find out later, so I won't spoil it here.
I've completed the detailed outline up to the end of the main character's storyline, and I have a rough outline with several ending scenarios in my mind. I've also already decided on the title for the last chapter.
Final Chapter: The Great Emperor Ziyuan Returns to the Mortal Realm!
Anyway, the whole book has this kind of tone: serious nonsense, a bit of childish magical girl, and a bit of seemingly serious but actually authoritative and timeless ideas, with both sides interspersed.
I think the main reason so many readers are willing to accept this book is its novelty. After all, even the editors think it's rare and unconventional. So, magical girl and eternal monopoly will be presented simultaneously. I hope everyone will like it.
Please help me with first-day subscriptions, follow-up reading, and monthly tickets. I asked other authors, and they said 500 monthly tickets would require an extra chapter. Although I write slowly, I will try my best to add more chapters. If all else fails, I can write some side stories for individual characters.
Thank you all for your support! I'm bowing down to you all! *bang bang bang*
There will be three chapters tomorrow at 11 AM, so remember to check them out!
