Chapter 109 Minor Evils Must Be Punished, Major Evils Must Not Be Tolerated (Happy National Day, 24th, Please Vote!)

"Ah Sheng, come with me, Henry Sir wants to see you." Huang Ye received a call from his boss, pushed open the door to the office area, and called out loudly to Lin Tiansheng, who was eating.

The men all turned to look at him, some gloating, others shaking their heads in pity. Lin Tiansheng threw down his chopsticks and lazily stood up: "Understood, sir."

"Let's go." Huang Ye said expressionlessly, and walked away.

Ah Du had no appetite and stood up, saying, "Inspector Lin, will something happen?"

More than 200 gangsters blocked the entrance to the police station. The uniformed police set up a 100-meter cordon, and TVB's press van rushed outside.

"No, it won't happen," Lin Tiansheng reassured his subordinate. After he left, Old Zhang sighed, "Something's bound to happen. We handled the case, got no credit, and are still being held accountable. It's a real pain in the ass."

Xinji's strong performance was not excessive. The method of having two hundred gangsters block the door was something that even without Four-Eyed Dragon and Lin Jiang's permission, Wen Biao could do.

The key issue is that the police leadership doesn't support him. Otherwise, they would have sealed off the factory, arrested and prosecuted him long ago, and nipped the flames of trouble in the bud. How could things have escalated so much?

Before the afternoon, if the Pan family didn't make a move, he would ask Inspector Qiao to cover for him. He would start by sweeping through the other districts, targeting the Sun Kee's territories, in order to facilitate negotiations.

Although there is a possibility of being held accountable, it will not affect the position.

When you're out in the world, if you want to be powerful, you have to take on a little risk. That's only fair.
"What's going on? So many people?" Dickson Poon arrived at Argyle Street in Kowloon City in his extended Mercedes-Benz. Through the car window, he saw more than two hundred gangsters blocking the entrance to the West Kowloon Police Station. His young face showed deep confusion.

If this scene were in London, Scotland Yard's riot police would have rushed in long ago, using tear gas and smoke grenades first, followed by stun guns, rubber bullets, and water cannons, shooting them all in the head.

When did the Royal Canadian Mounted Police become a bunch of useless trash?

After waiting in traffic for a while, the driver in front ran back and said in front of the car door, "Fourth Young Master (who is female in the family), the police have blocked the road."

"Those gangsters were protesting the police's arrest of pirates."

Pan Disheng said with a gloomy face, "I'm not deaf. What the hell do you mean by 'there's no difference between genuine and pirated versions'? Damn it, let me call the assistant director to report this to the police."

The head of the Kowloon region is the Senior Assistant Commissioner. There are two Assistant Commissioners, one in charge of operations and the other in charge of personnel.

The internal structure of the four regional headquarters is benchmarked against that of the General Administration.

Even the West Kowloon Police Chief is only a Chief Superintendent.

Operations Section, Inspector General's Office.

Henry tightened his coat hem, dressed in uniform, his face stern, and stood up to reprimand: "Inspector Lin, you handled the case too recklessly, with insufficient evidence. What right do you have to live as a person?"

Lin Tiansheng stood ramrod straight, saluted, and replied, "Sir, we have enough evidence to prosecute Wen Biao and shut down the counterfeit clothing factory."

Henry grabbed Lin Tiansheng by the collar, his expression displeased, and gritted his teeth, saying, "Release him, tell the thugs outside to disperse, and investigate the case thoroughly within a month."

Lin Tiansheng declared loudly, "Those who are guilty must be punished; they cannot be let go!"

Henry, his face contorted with rage, pulled Lin Tiansheng in front of him and snarled, "If I hadn't protected you in front of the director, you would have been transferred long ago."

"Are you dissatisfied with me?"

Huang Ye's gaze shifted upwards, drifting towards the ceiling, waiting to see what would happen.

Director Mark already had reservations about Lin Tiansheng, and if Henry hadn't vouched for him, Mark would have really transferred Lin Tiansheng away.

Henry Sir's left ear constantly heard Pi Zhibang's slanderous remarks, leading him to believe that having capable subordinates was essential, and even if they went too far, it was all proof of their dedication. His right ear, however, was filled with Huang Ye's malicious gossip, sometimes making him suspect Lin Tiansheng's ulterior motives and untrustworthy nature. Over time, he realized that both men were imposters; only Lin Tiansheng was real. By controlling "Lin Tiansheng," he could instigate conflict between the two groups of Chinese, better consolidate power, solve cases, accumulate merit, and build his reputation.

Lin Tiansheng wasn't going to fight Henry head-on; he was trying to maintain the bottom line of not closing the case so that it would be easier for Inspector Qiao to intervene in the investigation. If he gave in now, it would be admitting defeat, and then there would be no going back.

Just as he was about to make another explanation, Pan Disheng's clear cheers came from behind the door.

"Inspector Lin speaks well. Crimes should be punished. Isn't producing counterfeit goods a crime?"

The door opened, and the first person to enter was none other than the Director Mark, followed by Dickson Poon, a young, successful, and shrewd-looking man in a suit.

Henry's eyes held a hint of doubt, but after realizing what was happening, he immediately raised his hand in salute. Huang Ye moved even faster, nimbly and powerfully, stomping his heels and standing tall with his chest puffed out. Lin Tiansheng also performed the proper salute, joining his two superiors in a shout.

"Hello, sir!"

Mark, the foreigner, nodded slowly and got straight to the point, introducing the family background of Dickson Poon beside him: "This Mr. Poon is the eldest son of Justice of the Peace Poon Kam-hei. He came to the police station specifically to report a case of selling counterfeit handbags. Henry, you're in charge of the Operations Division, expedite this."

Upon hearing the title of Justice of the Peace, Huang Ye's expression changed drastically. Pan Jinxi, a famous jewelry merchant, was a very influential and powerful boss.

Henry understood even better that the person led by the commissioner must have extremely high connections, so he quickly assured him, "Yes, sir! We, the Royal Police, have always punished even the smallest evils and tolerated no major ones. Mr. Pan, please rest assured."

Pan Disheng smiled gently and said to Lin Tiansheng, "Last night, I actually called the police. I remember it was Inspector Lin who answered the phone, right?"

Lin Tiansheng understood immediately and took the initiative to shake hands: "It's me, Mr. Pan."

"Are those guys outside troublemakers, pirates?" Pan Disheng asked knowingly. Under the watchful eye of his superior, Lin Tiansheng replied, "Not really, just a bunch of thugs."

"That's good. I have faith in Inspector Lin's abilities."

"That's what Dickson Poon said."

Mark nodded in agreement: "Inspector Lin's abilities are evident to all. In yesterday's operation, he identified the source of the counterfeit goods on the street and arrested the main culprit."

"Henry, you are in charge of this case. Submit a report as soon as possible."

Henry stood at attention and saluted: "Yes, sir!"

Pan Dickson gave Lin Tiansheng a familiar look, then turned and left with Commissioner Mark, seemingly just to take a quick look around the Operations Section. But everyone present knew perfectly well that they were there to support Lin Tiansheng.

"Inspector Lin, you didn't tell me about the emergency call you received yesterday. Don't you trust me?" Huang Ye asked in a low voice, his expression displeased. Lin Tiansheng shrugged: "That big boss was just joking. It's just a random case in Mong Kok that suits his tastes. A Justice of the Peace's son calling a lowly inspector like me?"

Henry glanced at his two feuding subordinates, a smile playing on his lips. He put his arm around Lin Tiansheng's shoulder and said, "You're helping the big boss with a case and you're hiding it? Just say so next time, so as not to waste time."

"Sir, what do we do now?" Lin Tiansheng asked.

Henry sneered, "Take the O-Team guys to the door, arrest all the troublemakers and bring them back to jail with Wenbiao. Then shut down Xinji's factory and close the case for prosecution."

“Inspector Huang’s words are not enough evidence, and he’s not going to support me.” Lin Tiansheng immediately tried to sow discord, and Huang Ye’s face turned ashen with anger. He retorted, “You have so many big bosses backing you, you don’t need me.”

Henry smiled and waved his hand, saying, "Arrest them first, then gather evidence. Counterfeiting designer goods, what a serious crime!"
