Chapter 4 The Outer Gate Attendant's Register of the Mountain and Sea Immortal Palace

"And there are treasures?"

Fang Shu was taken aback. He was about to reach out and grab the card, but at the last moment, he picked up a piece of gravel and poked it with the stone.

After checking it and confirming that there was no poison on the sign, he picked it up with a surprised expression.

Fang Shu stroked the plaque and discovered that it was about the size of a palm, with strange characters engraved on both sides, one in relief and the other in intaglio.

Its shape resembles that of snakes, insects, and tadpoles, twisting and wriggling, much like the "secret script" in magic.

He had only glanced at those few words a few times, and hadn't even visualized them in his mind, when he felt dizzy and lightheaded.

He quickly closed his eyes, calmed himself down, and held back for a while before he finally managed not to vomit.

Even so, when Fang Shu opened his eyes again, his face was still deathly pale, and he had not fully recovered.

But his eyes were surprisingly bright; he showed no fear whatsoever. Instead, he stared intently at the wooden plaque in his hand, experiencing that dizzying sensation once again.

Having learned from this experience, Fang Shu closed his eyes in time and stopped thinking about it, which did not have a significant impact on him.

This brand is so strange.

However, Fang Shu's face showed joy, even more so than when he had acquired a new spell.

He leaped to his feet, clutching the strangely inscribed token, and paced around the cave, muttering to himself:

"An opportunity! This is our opportunity."

"Is it a magic weapon? Or a profound spell? Where did that old fox get it from?" His mind was filled with all sorts of thoughts.

His feelings at this moment were just like when he had just woken up from a dream and gained some of his innate wisdom, and realized that there were immortals in this world, and that his second uncle was an immortal who had come to guide him.
After all, such an object, capable of captivating one's soul with a single glance, is no ordinary thing. It might even help him enter the path of cultivation, refine essence, or even refine qi, or perhaps even establish his foundation!
However, he remained calm and did not become complacent.

After calming himself down, Fang Shu hid in a corner of the cave and began to figure out how to use the item.

"According to my second uncle, when you encounter a celestial treasure, you must not, as in the novels, directly bind it to your owner with your blood."

Otherwise, if one encounters an evil spirit or an overly precious treasure, a moment of carelessness could drain all one's vital essence, costing them their life.

He pondered for a moment, hesitated several times, then stuck out his tongue, wiped his mouth with his hand, and removed the long tongue sword that he had painstakingly forged.

Fang Shu slashed open the long tongue-sword, letting it bleed, and then moved it towards the plaque that was neither metal nor wood, attempting to nourish it with the essence of the tongue-sword's blood.

In this way, even if the cards are abnormal, at most they will only drain the tongue sword, ruining this hard-earned spell, but will not cause Fang Shu's physical body to die.

But the next moment, as soon as Paipai touched the essence blood on the tongue sword, it floated into the air with a buzzing sound, and yellow spiritual light surged around its body, which was extremely mysterious.

Fortunately, Fang Shu was at a corner of the cave, so the spiritual light did not dissipate.

Then, in his eyes, twisted and strange characters suddenly flowed across the card, some large and some small, resembling snakes, insects, or tadpoles, incredibly mysterious.

Even more chillingly, he didn't recognize a single word, yet inexplicably understood the text:

"The Outer Gate Attendant Register of the Mountain and Sea Immortal Palace: Transmitting skills for personal use, recognizing a master and receiving registration... Bloodline... Soul..."

Fang Shu looked expectant.

He saw his long tongue sword, which was swiftly snatched away.

Even though the Long Tongue Sword struggled due to the leakage of its essence and blood, it was easily suppressed by that "Boy's Talisman".

“The ordination was not completed, and the person was neither human nor righteous, so the ordination was refused… The blood vessel was suspected, so the scope was expanded.”

Before Fang Shu could react, the card suddenly lunged at him. It landed heavily in front of him, and a terrifying suction force pulled him in, making him dizzy, as if his soul was about to be pulled away and crushed.

In that instant, Fang Shu didn't have time to think too much; his heart was filled with both anticipation and fear, and only one thought remained:
"My second uncle was right, those magical treasures are indeed dangerous!"

At this moment, twisted characters flowed across the yellow sign:

"The outer gate attendant register of the Mountain and Sea Immortal Palace, imparts skills for personal use, recognizes a master and is granted a title."

Bloodline...pure!
The soul... is pure!
Once the investiture ceremony was completed, the certificate was put into use.

Note: The master of the talisman is a mortal soul of pure lineage and noble birth. The transmission of power is granted through the three powers, and all are activated according to the law…

Zheng!
The yellow sign spun around in front of Fang Shu.

It transformed from reality into abstraction, becoming mysterious characters that swirled around Fang Shu like a waterfall before disappearing into his mind.

In an instant, all the spiritual light in the cave came to an abrupt end, as if the scene just now was merely an illusion.

But at the same time, a storm was brewing in Fang Shu's mind.

Slowly, Fang Shu opened his eyes, his expression strange for a moment, but his eyes were filled with a deep sense of surprise.

He first touched his body and, finding himself completely unharmed, reached out and picked up the long-tongued sword that lay on the ground like a dead snake, then put it back into his mouth.

With a whoosh, the moment the long-tongued sword entered his mouth, the "Bodhisattva's Register" appeared in his mind, with distorted characters flowing across it:
“There is a blood-stained weapon outside, which, according to what the scribe has seen and heard, is named ‘Long Tongue Sword’.”

The power to ward off evil has been activated... No evil influences, no lingering spirits, no impurities, all are permitted.

Unlike usual, the Long Tongue Sword did not return to Fang Shu's body in a hurry; instead, it paused for a moment.

When the character '允' appeared in the Child's Register, the Long Tongue Sword successfully connected with Fang Shu's physical body.

Fang Shu belatedly realized, through this incident, that what he had just witnessed was not a hoax.

He has indeed successfully recognized the strange inscription on the plaque as his own and made it his own!
This item, whose full name is "Outer Gate Child's Talisman of the Immortal Palace of Mountains and Seas," has already entered his body, is connected to his life, and is quite useful.

Based on the information conveyed by the "Children's Register," it is suspected to belong to a force called "Mountain and Sea Immortal Palace." It is an artifact used to cultivate its disciples and impart skills and resolve doubts. It belongs to the most basic "Children's Use" category among the "Taoist Registers."

The Child's Talisman has only three main functions, all of which are now activated for Fang Shu:
Firstly, it wards off evil spirits, connects with the dragon's energy, monitors the physical body and soul of the talisman owner, drives away evil spirits, and prevents possession and soul searching.

Secondly, it records information, stores and archives data, and monitors the talisman owner's cultivation level, techniques, physical condition, and so on, making it convenient for the talisman owner to access information.

Thirdly, it can analyze the languages and scripts of all races, making it easier for the talisman master to understand the principles, learn from all things, and grow into a Taoist who can nourish all things.

Just as Fang Shu was pondering the benefits these three functions would bring him, the "Bodhisattva's Talisman" in his mind buzzed again, and a series of runes flashed through his mind:
"Signature: The dragon's aura has vanished without a trace!"
"By order of the expedition across mountains and seas, and with the power to ward off evil, the true essence and vital energy of the talisman's owner will be diverted to prevent possession, soul searching, and enslavement. Those who submit will rather die than comply."

"It is revealed that the person who made the talisman does not know the Yellow Heaven, does not understand the mountains and seas, and has not received the dragon's energy. He suspects that they are descendants of the people of the mountains and seas, or descendants of the Yellow Heaven!"

According to the decree of the Mountain and Sea Dao, the power of the Supreme Dao Register is fully activated and transferred. From this day forward, it will automatically change its order, and none of the myriad heavens and myriad paths can take it away.

"The outer gate attendant's register of the Immortal Palace of Mountains and Seas, wishing only:"
Mountains and seas endure forever, the path of immortality is eternal. The master of the register is without calamity, his cultivation of the Dao is accomplished.

Goodbye. "

*Smack!*
After the last rune flashed through Fang Shu's mind, the "Boy's Talisman" remained unchanged, as silent as if it had died.

Fang Shu was recalling the information in his mind, unable to come back to his senses for a long time.
