Chapter 185 "We Will Fight to the End (Black Version)"

The funding to support Wakanda is easy to understand.

As the unrest in the south intensifies, the bootlegging business, which was originally an important source of revenue for Wakanda, will inevitably suffer a major blow.

Maintaining an ever-growing armed force consumes enormous sums of money every single day.

A steady stream of funding will effectively alleviate Wakanda's financial crisis and provide a solid material foundation for their next actions.

Supporting European military personnel is also understandable.

The core force, composed mainly of veterans of the French Black Legion, proved its value in this campaign. Faced with an almost inevitable and larger-scale counterattack from the federal government, Wakanda urgently needs to replenish its ranks with more experienced soldiers to cope with the increasingly brutal fighting.

But what the heck is a support engineer?

Well, actually, it was influenced by Ethan Hunt's fame as the "King of Escape" that more and more engineers eager to make a name for themselves came to Arkham Heroes Academy, especially those who loved "explosive engineering".

Arkham Academy is almost running out of suitable, spacious places for them to "create" to their heart's content.

Fortunately, the vast lands of the South provided them with the ideal stage to showcase their talents and carry out "large-scale engineering practices".

The only problem is, under what pretext should we persuade or invite these "heroes" with their diverse personalities and extraordinary abilities to come south and serve us?
"Black gangsters" won't attract heroes who might value the legitimacy or historical significance of their "cause" more!
Therefore, it's time for Wakanda to raise its banner!
So, after a short "rest", Logan boarded a plane again and headed south.

Everyone at the Sun newspaper office couldn't help but sigh: for the sake of gossip, no, for the sake of news, the boss is so dedicated that it puts all the workers to shame!

Little did anyone know that shortly after Logan landed, he donned the alias "Han Solo" and contacted Hughie, who had rushed to Jackson.

The support from his “northern friends” that His Holiness brought him greatly boosted Hughie’s spirits.

To be honest, the rapid changes in the situation have left Hughie bewildered.

The original plan was just a fierce counterattack, aimed at crushing the whites' encirclement and inflicting pain on them; however, Leo's "gentle" counterattack turned into the capture of a state capital!
This has completely exceeded any of his initial expectations.

There was excitement and joy, but more than that, there was a sense of bewilderment and immense pressure as we were swept along by the tide of history.

The situation escalated to the point that Wakanda was in a state of confusion, unsure of what to do next.

Just when Hughie himself was in a period of strategic confusion, His Holiness's reappearance was like a lighthouse in the fog, bringing not only substantial support from the North, but more importantly, guidance in the right direction.

"Children of Darkness, the times are changing, and the winds of change are blowing! This is the responsibility bestowed upon you by the era, and the mission you cannot avoid. You must shoulder even greater burdens!"

"First, you need to raise the banner of Wakanda! Let America, let the whole world, hear your voice and understand the meaning of your fight! This is not just a declaration, but a banner that unites people and wins support!"

As he spoke, "Han Solo" solemnly took out a manuscript, his tone carrying a hint of melancholy.
“My old friend, the black Jedi Knight, once left behind a manifesto that, as if by fate, perfectly reflects your current situation and the voice you need to make!”

Hughie accepted the not-so-heavy manuscript with profound respect. The title immediately caught his eye—"We Will Fight to the End!"

The following day, Wakanda officially announced its existence to the world through broadcasts from the Jackson Radio Station, which it had forcibly taken over, and through some media outlets that expressed friendliness or at least neutrality.

"To all my oppressed American compatriots, and to all people around the world who care about justice and freedom:"
We are not the 'gang' or 'criminal group' that the federal government has smeared us for.

We are Wakanda!
A revolutionary organization dedicated to liberating all oppressed Black people, and uniting with all other minorities and progressive forces suffering similar injustice and oppression, to fight for our rightful rights to survival, development, dignity, and freedom through armed struggle!

Their manifesto first and foremost clearly defined their political nature—a revolutionary organization aiming to achieve the liberation of the Black people through armed struggle.

Following this was a manifesto demonstrating Wakanda's indomitable will and fighting spirit—

"We Black people buried the bones of our youth in every cotton field, and left our mark on every railroad track. We gave three hundred years of blood and tears for the prosperity of America, only to be rewarded with heavier chains."

They decorated oak branches with the ropes of lynching, turning living Black people into charred remains; they built walls with laws, trapping our children forever in barren wastelands; they made us sweat to build this nation, yet forbade us to sleep peacefully under the eaves we built.

Today, we stand at a crossroads soaked in blood, and swear to the heavens and the earth: the era of forbearance is over!
We no longer believe in the lies of gradualism, nor do we expect handouts of pity. When the law becomes an accomplice to violence, when the courtroom turns into a stage for humiliation, our only choice is to take up arms and fight!
We will fight in the fields.

The roar of the cotton gins carried the secret messages of resistance;

We will fight in the city streets.

Use your bricklaying hands to build a barrier of freedom;
We will fight at every dawn.
Awaken the dormant conscience with the melody of the freedom anthem.

We will fight in the steel mill, we will fight in the laundry room, we will fight at the fences of the quarantined school, we will fight at the lunch counters that won't let us sit down. We will fight everywhere, and we will never surrender!

The darkness before dawn is the deepest, but we can already see the first rays of light seeping from the horizon.

Today, we swear by the bones of our ancestors: no matter the cost, no matter how treacherous the road ahead, we will fight to the very end! We will fight in the skies, we will fight on the ground, we will fight in the fields and streets, we will fight on the hills; we will never surrender!

Until the Mississippi River flows backward, until the Appalachian Mountains crumble, until the bells of freedom toll in every black hut—this fight will not end, will not falter, will not waver!

In the name of stolen dignity,
In the name of trampled dreams,
In the name of the future of our children and grandchildren—

We swear to fight to the death!

From the first city to fall in the war after the American Civil War, the roar of the rebels echoed through Mississippi via radio and newspapers, reaching the whole of America, and even crossing the ocean to begin to resonate in more distant places...
