Chapter 176 What does Logan know about military affairs?
To outsiders, the “heroic” demise of the five hundred European heroes was probably only due to the defeat of the Prohibition Board.

However, the Prohibition Board also felt that it had won.

Imagine if it were Prohibition Bureau officers themselves who faced this massacre... Commissioner Robert immediately shuddered. Thank goodness.

As for the other law enforcement agency, the Bureau of Investigation, there is no doubt that it is still winning!
As the smoke cleared and the media's focus remained on commemorating the "warriors" or criticizing the "cruelty," the Bureau of Investigation's most professional on-site investigation team and technical analysis department had already quietly entered the scene, meticulously analyzing the entire battlefield and every detail revealed by the opponent.

Under Hoover's personal supervision, the Bureau of Investigation's analysis report was on his desk in a very short time.

The report first focused on analyzing the shocking "heartless cannon" that stunned the outside world.

By precisely measuring the diameter and depth of the crater, as well as collecting measurement data from the gun emplacement and the remains of incompletely burned propellant charges, analysts have reverse-engineered the basic principles and performance parameters of this weapon.

"...This weapon is essentially a super-large caliber mortar or projectile. Its only advantage is its simple structure, ease of mass production and concealment, and ability to cause area damage in open areas in a short time."

Aside from its advantages, it's all disadvantages—

Extremely poor accuracy, relying entirely on sheer numbers for coverage; extremely short range, with ballistic analysis suggesting an effective range of only 200-400 meters and significant dispersion; slow rate of fire, with time-consuming and labor-intensive reloading; and considerable safety hazards for operators…

The analysis team characterized this weapon in one sentence: "This is a typical example of a rudimentary artillery piece made with limited technological capabilities!"

The mighty United States naturally looks down on such crude and inferior weapons.

However, combining this with the two previous incidents of precision-guided explosives ambushes encountered by law enforcement teams, we can draw a conclusion:
"It is certain that we are facing an armed force with extensive experience and considerable technical expertise in the use of explosives. They are adept at using simple materials to manufacture high-powered explosive devices."

Based on this, the analysis report began to outline the overall image of Black armed forces—

"Based on battlefield evidence and intelligence analysis of their battles with the KKK, the members possessed basic to highly skilled infantry tactics, and their training level was higher than that of ordinary bandits, approaching that of militia members who had undergone basic training."

"They are equipped with relatively standardized light weapons, including light machine guns, but so far there is no indication of them being equipped with standard heavy weapons. Therefore, they have to rely on their expertise in the use of explosives to manufacture makeshift cannons to compensate for their lack of firepower."

"Their tactical execution is alarming, but their equipment limits their capabilities. Therefore, the assessment concludes that they cannot compete with any organized regular army unit of the United States. A battalion-sized National Guard unit, with accurate intelligence support, can easily handle them!"

Hoover, who didn't know much about military affairs, didn't just listen to one person's internal analysis.

Just as the investigation bureau reached its initial conclusions, major newspapers, with their keen sense of opportunity, also sought out military experts to create special columns in their newspapers, providing professional analysis of this "ambush."

"...The key to the success of this ambush lay in the element of surprise and the use of terrain. The defenders' use of a low-tech projectile weapon exposed their absolute weakness in long-range firepower..."

"...Perhaps this gang can be regarded as a somewhat organized guerrilla force, which explains why they were able to resist law enforcement, but that's about it."

These analyses, though from different perspectives, share the same core viewpoint as the Bureau of Investigation's internal assessment.

Well, there's probably only one report that doesn't fit in.

Hoover didn't forget his role as a journalist; Logan, who witnessed the "criminal group's" armed performance up close, also wrote an analysis report from a media perspective.

Upon receiving Hoover's message, Logan felt his double life was truly a professional ethical challenge. Was there anyone in the world who knew Wakanda better than him?
As is well known, Logan has always been dedicated to his work and loves what he does.

And now that he's an "informant agent" for the Bureau of Investigation, then... of course he has to tell the truth!

Logan then wrote a lengthy evaluation report of several thousand words.

"...Based on observation and speculation, the militants acted swiftly and with strict discipline when withdrawing from the battlefield after the shelling, suggesting they may have undergone long-term and rigorous military training;"

"...Given their expertise in explosives and their creative use of simple projectile weapons, it is hard not to suspect that they have access to and the ability to acquire and operate more advanced weapons, and may even have secretly stockpiled some heavy weapons to deal with larger-scale conflicts."

"...Based on the overall assessment, this armed group seems to have grand ambitions and its displayed strength is likely just the tip of the iceberg. Its potential threat level is probably comparable to that of a regular army?"

The entire report was filled with vague words like "seems," "maybe," "perhaps," "based on observation and speculation," "cannot be ruled out," and "it's hard not to be suspicious," which made Hoover's brain ache!

He read a third of it, then skipped to the conclusion and was so angry he laughed!

The final "?" is quite clever; you're even making assumptions about the conclusion?!
In Hoover's view, this report was clearly Logan using all the storytelling skills he had when he was at the newspaper; it wasn't intelligence analysis, it was clearly writing a fantasy novel.

"This Logan is a master at running newspapers and stirring up emotions. But military affairs... sigh, what does he know about military affairs?"

Uh, it seems Logan himself said something like that.

Looking at it this way, in some ways Logan is actually quite an honest person!
As Hoover deepened his impression of Logan, he threw his "literary analysis" into the trash.

Ultimately, he naturally leaned towards the consensus reached by professional analysts and authoritative military experts: Black armed groups posed a threat, but not many, and could be dealt with by deploying regular troops.

Just then, the agents who were tracking the Black armed ambush force successfully located a camp deep in the forest that they had infiltrated after their retreat, after going through many twists and turns.

Based on preliminary reconnaissance, the camp is quite large, capable of accommodating at least several hundred people, and is heavily guarded. It is highly likely to be an important stronghold of the organization, or even its command center!

Indeed, while the Black armed groups' brutal beating of the European heroes was, to some extent, in line with public opinion.

But what does public opinion have to do with the Investigation Bureau? The Investigation Bureau's first thought is to follow the clues and then remove the melon!

The federal government has never had the concept of "gratitude," only "settling scores after the fact" and "discarding the bridge after crossing the river"!
One moment European heroes are defeated, and the public's emotions are vented; the next moment, it's time for your "criminal group" to be uprooted!
It's time to end this!

In short, this intelligence, like the final piece of the puzzle, was embedded in Hoover's plan.

Without further hesitation, he applied to higher authorities to push forward the military crackdown plan against the "Southern criminal group"!
