I'm modifying myself into the ultimate demon.

Chapter 176 Major Twist: Resurrection, Red Light Robbery!

Chapter 176 Major Twist: Resurrection, Red Light Robbery! (Must Read!!!)
Chen Mo looked in the direction Nangong Ye was pointing and saw that the coffin board beneath Jiang Hongyue's body was covered with countless scarlet runes and patterns.

Chen Mo immediately rushed to the riverbanks on both sides to search, only to find the Wangchuan River flowing swiftly, shrouded in red mist... Apart from the pervasive aura of death, there were no other objects.

He turned back to Nangong Ye and said, “Although I never expected that the altar for the human-dragon sacrifice would be a coffin, this should be the place.”

After saying that, Chen Mo sat down on the ground and stared blankly at the thirty-six great dragon-snake demons in the River of Oblivion and the red coffin they were protecting.

Previously, Chen Mo had been filled with apprehension and worry throughout his exploration. But now that he had arrived at the final destination, his mind was much calmer.

Even disguised as an old woman, Nangong Ye still exuded a serene air, standing alone among the spider lilies on the riverbank. The cold wind blew through Nangong Ye's clothes and long hair, and her clear eyes held a deep worry.

A cold wind rises from the river and passes over the red mist.

With each gust of cold wind, the two could clearly feel their life force slipping away.

Upon seeing the hunchbacked Chen Mo, Nangong Ye showed a hint of pity: "Young Master, this is the River of Oblivion. Our lives are slipping away every moment. Please make a decision soon."

Chen Mo did not answer, but simply stared at the mist over the River of Oblivion, as if trying to see through the mist and spot the entity on the other side of the River of Oblivion.

After a long silence, Chen Mo finally spoke: "Xiao Ye, what do you think is on the other side of the River of Oblivion?"

Nangong Ye said, "Folk legend has it that the other side of the River of Oblivion is the Gate of Hell, and beyond the Gate of Hell lies the Underworld. As for what it is... I have no idea."

Chen Mo murmured, "Yes. The Underworld is just across the River of Oblivion. You said... did Jiang Hongyue ever go to the Underworld?"

Nangong Ye pondered for a moment and said, "It is said that once you go to the Underworld, you can never come back. You will fall into the Avici Hell or be reincarnated. That is already part of the underworld, and you can never return to the living world. I suspect... Jiang Hongyue has never been there. But when she got here, she suddenly didn't want to die, so she made a poisonous vow, transformed into the Other Shore Flower Spell, and used the Other Shore Flower to cut off the road to the Yellow Springs. Then she used the power of the great dragon-serpent demon to protect her from going to the other side of the River of Oblivion."

Chen Mo didn't speak, but just hunched over and stared intently at the opposite bank.

All alone, like a venomous wolf.

Nangong Ye stopped urging him and slowly walked over to Chen Mo and sat down. "Young Master, would you perhaps like to go and take a look at the other side of the River of Oblivion?"

Chen Mo shook his head with utmost calmness: "I'm thinking about something."

Nangong Ye: "What?"

"Xiao Ye, do you remember the question I once asked you? Since Jiang Hongyue took that demonic fetus to the Yellow Springs Road a hundred years ago, clearly prepared to perish together with it, why did she later return to life?"

Nangong Ye: "I remember... Could it be..."

brush.

Chen Mo suddenly turned around, his bright eyes staring straight at Nangong Ye: "That's right. I suspect that Jiang Hongyue really did cross the River of Oblivion, went to the Underworld, and sent that demonic fetus there. Only then did she think of returning to life."

hiss!
Nangong Ye took a deep breath: "Jiang Hongyue has been to the Underworld... but the Underworld is the netherworld. It's completely separated from the mortal world. Someone who has been to the Underworld must be reincarnated. How can she return to the mortal world on the spot? I'm afraid you're overthinking it, young master..."

Chen Mo said, "Xiao Ye, carefully recall what Jiang Hongyue said before she died."

Nangong Ye carefully recalled the last words Jiang Hongyue had said before she died:
Hahaha, my son, do you really want to complete your thirty-sixth reincarnation and ascend to immortality through corpse liberation?
But Mother won't allow you to come out. Even though the person I love most betrayed me and poisoned me several times. Even though my mother died of anger because of me, even though I hate this world to the core. But... this land is, after all, where I once lived. The people on this land deserve to die, but... their lives should be ended by me, not yours!
I will use my own sword to cut down this world.

You've survived thirty-five lifetimes. You shouldn't have provoked me, Jiang Hongyue. But I'm determined to stop you in your final lifetime. After thirty-six lifetimes, you'll be a true demon. I won't let you emerge. If I can't stop you, then... let's go to the Yellow Springs together.

My dear son, I am right above you, using the power of my mirror to carve my own path to the underworld. I will watch over you every moment, for all eternity, ha ha ha!

Chen Mo asked, "Do you know which sentence is the most crucial?"

Nangong Ye said, "This land is, after all, where I once lived. Although the people of this land deserve to die, their lives should be ended by me, not by you! I will use my own sword to cut down this world!"

Chen Mo: "That's right... Their lives should have been ended by me, not by you. It's clear that Jiang Hongyue intended to take the demonic fetus to the underworld with her, and then return to life herself."

Nangong Ye fell silent.

Although all of this is very bizarre and unbelievable.

But upon closer examination, it seems quite reasonable.

It is said that a person's words are true when they are about to die.

It's reasonable to assume that Jiang Hongyue's words at the end of her life must have had some significance.

"If that's the case, then Jiang Hongyue's mirror power is simply too astonishing. The magic artifact of the number one demon-suppressing family in the Great Qian Dynasty is truly unbelievable. If Jiang Hongyue were to be resurrected, I'm afraid she would have become a super demon who would want to wipe out this world."

Chen Mo said, "That's right. We previously experienced Jiang Hongyue's entire life, and what we saw was the human part of Jiang Hongyue. After that, Jiang Hongyue became a demon. She left this world with soaring resentment, and if she were to return to life, she would surely be a demon returning."

Nangong Ye twitched his lips, feeling quite uncomfortable.

She was, after all, the head of the Great Qian Demon Suppression Division, yet at this moment she was out of control, unable to even decide her own fate.

It's not entirely Nangong Ye's fault. On one hand, she was facing Jiang Hongyue, a once-peerless figure in the Great Qian Dynasty. On the other hand... this Jiang Hongyue was far more terrifying than outsiders imagined.

"What solution does the young master have?"

Chen Mo said, "If I don't perform the human-dragon sacrifice, I will die. If I do perform the human-dragon sacrifice, Jiang Hongyue will probably be resurrected. So, I'm thinking about something."

Nangong Ye asked, "What?"

Chen Mo suddenly grabbed Nangong Ye's hand, "Xiao Ye, we're both confused. Tell me, where are we now?"

Nangong Ye: "The River of Oblivion."

"No, no, no." Chen Mo shook his head repeatedly: "We are... in a dream."

hiss!
Nangong Ye gasped in shock, then suddenly realized what was happening.

Yes. They had witnessed Jiang Hongyue's entire life, a very, very long time. So long that Nangong Ye felt he had spent over forty years with Chen Mo. So long that Nangong Ye believed it was all reality.

After Chen Mo's reminder, Nangong Ye suddenly realized, "Then what does Young Master intend to do?"

Chen Mo said, "Since the child who appeared in my dream is dead, only the two of us remain in this dream. Moreover, this dream was created for me by the child. Therefore, I am the master of this dream. Perhaps I can do many things in my dream that I cannot do in reality."

After saying that, Chen Mo pointed to a giant serpent demon and said, "Xiao Ye, could you help me kill a giant serpent demon?"

Nangong Ye was unaware of Chen Mo's plans. "In reality, it wouldn't be easy for me to kill such a powerful serpent demon. But in a dream... I can give it a try. I just wonder what your plans are, young master?"

Chen Mo said, "If Xiao Ye trusts me, then do as I say."

Nangong Ye gazed at Chen Mo for a long time before finally saying, "I naturally trust you, young master."

"Thank you."

“My life and death are already intertwined with yours, sir. You need not stand on ceremony.” Nangong Ye said as he stood up and took off the silver bell hanging from his chest.

next moment.

Nangong Ye ran to the riverbank and threw the bell ball at the nearest serpent demon. He clasped his hands together and chanted, "I have practiced swordsmanship for twenty years and created the Great River Sword Technique. I have forged a sword called the Great River Sword Ball. It is sharp enough to cut iron like mud, and soft enough to wrap around a finger."

Together we are a blazing fire, scattered we are countless stars. Sword of the Great River, go!

Boom!

In an instant, the silver bell-shaped ball scattered like a ball of yarn, transforming into countless solid sword threads. These threads erupted like a tidal wave, multiplying into tens of thousands of sword threads that fiercely slashed towards the serpent.

brush!
Upon seeing this, Chen Mo was so shocked that he stood up abruptly. He saw the woman in flowing purple robes, and the thousands of sword threads surging forward like ocean waves, slashing towards the great serpent demon.

Is this Xiaoye's true strength?
A tiny bell-shaped ball had actually become a sword pellet, incorporating tens of thousands of sword threads. This swordsmanship was extraordinary, far exceeding Chen Mo's expectations.

Just what kind of monster is this Xiaoye?
Hey!
The great serpent demon felt greatly threatened and let out a desperate roar. It immediately swung its massive body, unleashing an astonishingly terrifying demonic aura, and fiercely bit at Xiaoye.

Boom boom boom!
The human and the demon then engaged in an astonishing duel on the riverbank.

Fortunately, the other great serpent demons continued to protect Jiang Hongyue's coffin and did not make any move.

Even so, it still caused quite a stir.

Chen Mo immediately ran towards Xiao Ye's direction, but unfortunately, he was hunchbacked and walking was very inconvenient for him.

Several times Chen Mo tried to stand up, but found his back hunched so badly that it seemed to be crushed by something. When he got closer, Chen Mo wanted to help, but found he couldn't.

This level of combat is beyond the scope of the Transcendent Realm.

Chen Mo could only watch, saying, "Xiao Ye, be careful."

"knew."

Although the great serpent demon wasn't instantly killed, it was still wounded by the Great River Sword. Xiaoye, on the other hand, was also severely injured, covered in blood.

Seeing that Xiao Ye's fighting spirit wasn't strong enough and that she was holding back, Chen Mo shouted, "Xiao Ye, kill it at all costs. You must kill it. Trust me, if you kill it, I might have a way to deal with it."

puff!

During the battle, Nangong Ye coughed up blood, sent flying by the overwhelming power of the serpent, crashing heavily to the ground. In that critical moment, Nangong Ye turned and looked at Chen Mo.

Nangong Ye coughed up blood again, then struggled to his feet: "I am old and my cultivation and health are not what they used to be, but I believe in you, young master."

brush!
Nangong Ye took another step forward, transforming into a blur, and charged towards the great serpent demon with thousands of sword threads.

"Since the Great River Sword cannot defeat you, then let's go to the next level. The Azure Sea Rises!"

boom!
The sword threads split again, multiplying several times over, transforming everything around them into a sea of swords. The surging tide of sword threads, even taller than the great serpent demon, swept towards it.

Boom boom boom!

Endless sword threads, like ocean waves, devoured the serpent, frantically slicing through the serpent demon's body.

"Ouch!"

The great serpent demon couldn't withstand the sheer number of sword threads cutting it; it was eventually sliced into several pieces and collapsed to the ground, dead.

The other great dragon and serpent demons, seeing that the great demon had died, were all furious, but as if suppressed by some kind of mission, they still did not leave the River of Oblivion and continued to protect the coffin.

puff!
Nangong Ye squatted on the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood, her body swaying precariously. Just before she collapsed, Chen Mo stepped forward and caught her in his arms.

At this moment, Nangong Ye was on his deathbed, almost at the end of his life.

The two walked the road to the underworld, their lives already fading away quickly; one became an old woman, and the other an old man.

After this decisive battle, Nangong Ye was on the verge of death.

Chen Mo gripped Xiao Ye's hand tightly. "Xiao Ye is amazing. You really killed that great serpent demon. Leave the rest to me."

Nangong Ye nodded weakly: "Mm."

Chen Mo sat on the ground, placing Xiao Ye's head on his lap.

Then, Chen Mo stared at the corpse of the serpent in front of him. He opened the control panel.

[Original Solution Essence +400000]

[Currently available original solution essence: 500000]

'It really works. Even in my dreams, my cheat system works perfectly. Moreover, I can use it within my clone. That clone isn't actually a clone, but another, fully realized version of myself.'

With this in mind, Chen Mo no longer hesitated and immediately stared at the red coffin on the River of Oblivion and the sacrificial altar.

"I remember previously deducing the human-dragon sacrifice. At that time, the cheat code gave me the information that to deduce the complete cause and effect of the human-dragon sacrifice, you need to complete all the movements of the shamanic ritual, consuming 100000 original solution essences, to fully deduce it."

'Now, let's begin the deduction.'

Deduction!

Chen Mo had an idea.

hum!
The 500,000 original essence points on the panel in his mind immediately dropped to 400,000. Immediately afterward, an unimaginable pain swept through Chen Mo's head, forcing his brain to operate at full capacity, as if he were being pricked by needles.

It's simply unbearable.

His body began to tremble, and large beads of sweat streamed down Chen Mo's forehead, dripping onto Nangong Ye's face.

Before long, the pain began to subside, and lines of subtitles appeared before my eyes.

Human-Dragon Sacrifice

[Type: Human Sacrifice Ritual]

[Function: A forbidden technique for reviving the dead and reversing life and death.]

[Introduction: A complete human-dragon sacrifice ritual requires thirty-six great serpent demons, corresponding to the extreme numbers of the thirty-six states of the Great Qian Dynasty. This represents the national fortune of the entire Great Qian. In addition, there is a serpent-walker who serves as the chief priest. The human-dragon sacrifice ritual will be performed by this chief priest.]

[Logic: The chief priest arrives at the sacrificial altar with thirty-six great serpent demons. The one who leads the serpents descends, and the priest ascends the altar. After completing three thousand six hundred movements and reciting three thousand six hundred incantations, the ritual is declared initially complete. Afterwards, the thirty-six great serpent demons will sacrifice their demonic power, which the priest will then channel into the sacrificial altar. The altar can then use this power to revive the demons and reverse life and death.]

[Origin: This is a forbidden technique created by a top-tier demon-suppressing family in the Great Qian Dynasty to combat the cycle of life and death. It is an unfinished product, originally intended to fight against life and death. Now it is being used to revive Jiang Hongyue. Once chosen, it is irresistible.]

[Weakness: This ritual can only be performed by a priest in a sleepwalking state; once completed, the priest will die. Your only chance is through your avatar. The deduction information is complete, allowing for a full calculation. Your avatar can survive.]

Seeing this, Chen Mo breathed a sigh of relief.

He vaguely remembered that during the last simulation of the human-dragon sacrifice, the final hint was: "However, this simulation lacks information, making a complete simulation impossible. Therefore, we cannot guarantee whether your avatar will survive."

Now the deduction is complete.

Put your mind at ease and keep reading:

[Deduction 1: Jiang Hongyue went to the underworld because she had planted the Red Spider Lily on the banks of the River of Oblivion beforehand, and the power of the curse allowed her soul to avoid reincarnation.]

[Deduction 2: No living being can return after crossing the River of Oblivion, but Jiang Hongyue, relying on the power of the mirror, created a dream. Through this connection between the dream and the River of Oblivion, she has a chance of being resurrected.]

[Deduction 3: The power of the Mirror originates from the Blood Moon. Jiang Hongyue's physical body is now dead and cannot be revived. However, she has merged her soul with the power of the Mirror, becoming one with the Blood Moon. Since the Blood Moon resides in the mortal realm, her soul possesses the potential for resurrection.]

[Deduction 4: Before her death, Jiang Hongyue was filled with resentment, and her soul had transformed into an extremely powerful ghost. The so-called resurrection is actually the resurrection of this terrifying ghost.]

[Deduction 5: You were chosen by Jiang Hongyue a very, very early time, and this is related to the ghost bone within you.]

[Deduction 6: A very small portion of information is still missing; it is currently unknown whether the demonic fetus has been completely sent to the underworld by Jiang Hongyue.]

[Deduction 7: Your external avatar is a completely identical, perfect version of yourself. Anything that is bestowed upon your avatar will appear on your true self.]

[Scenario 8: You killed a powerful serpent demon, which in principle could change the course of the human sacrifice ritual, increasing your chances of survival. However, this doesn't seem to be very useful.]

[Summary: You can survive by using an avatar.]

[Note: An additional 100000 Original Essence can be used to unlock the true meaning of the curse for the Human-Dragon Sacrifice.]

call!
After reading all the information, Chen Mo breathed a sigh of relief.

It was only the second-to-last sentence that piqued Chen Mo's curiosity.

In principle, it can increase the probability of survival... What does "in principle" mean?
Chen Mo, being a transmigrator, knew very well... what was permissible in principle was actually not permissible. What was not permissible in principle was actually permissible.

?

The next moment, Chen Mo found out...

Wow.

Countless spider lily blossoms flew out, transforming into spider lily incantations that flowed into the corpse of the great serpent demon. In a short while, the great serpent demon actually… revived. Then, it darted into the River of Oblivion, returning to its original position to protect Jiang Hongyue's coffin.

OK OK.

So this is what it means in principle...

Nangong Ye was so startled by the resurrected giant snake that he suddenly sat up.

Chen Mo, however, remained much calmer.

never mind.

Anyway, I've already got the original solution.

However, the last sentence made Chen Mo uneasy: "To live a life of mere survival?"

Why add the character "苟" (gǒu)?

Could it be that after the human-dragon sacrifice, my main body died, and my avatar also suffered severe damage? Like a ghostly figure dying?
After thinking it over, this is the only explanation.

Wow!

The wind on the River of Oblivion continued to blow, causing Chen Mo and Nangong Ye's life force to continue to ebb away.

Chen Mo knew he couldn't wait any longer.

"Xiaoye, I'm going to begin the human-dragon sacrifice."

Chen Mo patted his bottom and stood up, then walked step by step to the bank of the River of Oblivion. When he arrived at the coffin, he didn't hesitate and jumped into it.

Looking closely at Jiang Hongyue's corpse in the coffin, Chen Mo felt a chill.

The woman in the Xiuhe dress was still alive and quite beautiful. Only her abdomen was swollen.

She placed her hands folded on her lower abdomen, looking very peaceful.

"This River of Oblivion is constantly devouring my life, but never mind. Let's begin!"

The golden finger had said it would complete the sacrificial ritual while the character was sleepwalking, but Chen Mo was currently in a dream. This seemed quite fitting.

Before starting to chant the incantation, Chen Mo thought: "I will spend 100000 original essences to unravel the true meaning of the incantation for the human-dragon sacrifice."

As Chen Mo recited the first incantation, the subsequent incantations spontaneously emerged.

So Chen Mo stood inside the coffin and began to perform a shamanistic ritual, chanting incantations.

The thirty-six great dragon-snake demons in front of the coffin immediately became very solemn, slowly bowing down in a gesture of worship.

Gradually, Chen Mo realized something was wrong.

Originally, Chen Mo was merely performing shamanistic rituals and chanting incantations while sleepwalking. He had no idea what these incantations meant or what the shamanistic postures represented. But now, with the help of the original essence, Chen Mo understands.

As the incantation was chanted continuously.

I found myself entering a dream again.

A dream within a dream.

It was Jiang Hongyue's dream.

This dream is the story after Jiang Hongyue entered the Yellow Springs Road with the demonic fetus.

Sending the child to the underworld.

Meanwhile, Jiang Hongyue arrived in the Mirror World with the demonic fetus, and then used her resentment to create the Red Moon Palace. The Red Moon Palace was Jiang Hongyue's own root; she first established her roots in the Mirror World, and then went to the Road to the Underworld, all so that she could return to her roots in the future.

From the very beginning, Jiang Hongyue's only thought was to be brought back to life.

Later, Jiang Hongyue brought the demonic fetus to the River of Oblivion. She left the body there, and then her soul, carrying the demonic fetus's soul, crossed the River of Oblivion and went to the Gates of Hell. She even entered the Gates of Hell.

Sending the child to the underworld.

Chen Mo did not see the scene in the underworld.

We now know that Jiang Hongyue took the soul of the demonic fetus to the underworld. Then, Jiang Hongyue wants to return to the living world… The question is:
Souls that enter the underworld cannot leave; the separation between the living and the dead is an ironclad rule that cannot be broken.

Even Jiang Hongyue couldn't get out.

So, how did Jiang Hongyue regain her life?
As the incantation continued to be chanted.

Chen Mo knew the answer:
Jiang Hongyue's soul has been in the underworld ever since. However, before she went to the underworld, she left behind the dream messenger, instructing the messenger to choose the dragon-riding person and also sending the dream to the Red Lantern Goddess.

They were just waiting for a chief priest to appear.

The priest who presides over the ceremony not only needs to be a dragon walker, but also needs to be able to use the Red Spider Lily Spell.

The dragon-walking technique is relatively simple, but the difficult one is the Other Shore Flower Mantra!
After all, the Curse of the Other Shore Flower was formed from Jiang Hongyue's resentment and used to sever the path to the underworld. This shows how powerful the curse is.

Because Chen Mo has a cheat-like ability, both of these conditions are met.

Therefore, Chen Mo became the sole chief officiant.

Jiang Hongyue waited for this high priest for over a hundred years.

Now, thanks to Chen Mo's appearance, they finally got what they wanted.

The method of resurrection is also very direct: the chief priest activates the human-dragon sacrifice, gathers the power of the thirty-six great dragon-snake demons, and pushes the curse of the Other Shore Flower Curse to its peak... At this point, the curse power of the Other Shore Flower Curse will penetrate the River of Oblivion, reach the Underworld, and communicate with Jiang Hongyue's soul in the Underworld.

Then... they teleported, swapped souls!

Once the ceremony is complete.

The high priest will die immediately, but his soul will be exchanged with Jiang Hongyue in the underworld through the Red Spider Lily Curse...

Thus, the High Priest's soul returned to the Underworld, while Jiang Hongyue's soul... came out.

The incantation was nearing its end.

hiss!
Chen Mo gasped.

The principles and mysteries of human-dragon sacrifice are all contained in this incantation.

The so-called human-dragon sacrifice is nothing more than a forbidden technique that defies the heavens by exchanging souls with the underworld.

Jiang Hongyue set up an incredible scheme.

This ferocious creature dares to openly break the rules of the underworld. Isn't it afraid of being hunted down and punished by the underworld?
But Chen Mo couldn't stop; he could only continue his shamanistic rituals and chanting incantations.

Standing on the shore, Nangong Ye stared intently at Chen Mo's every move, muttering to himself, "Three thousand four hundred movements and incantations have already been performed. The human-dragon sacrifice ritual is about to be completed. I wonder what will happen next."

Just then——

Boom!

The thirty-six giant serpents suddenly screamed madly, each sacrificing themselves. The demonic power transformed into thirty-six beams of red light, which poured into Chen Mo inside the coffin.

Rumble!
The power of a single serpent demon is terrifying.

Moreover, the combined power of the thirty-six great serpent demons was simply heaven-defying. The entire River of Oblivion was shaking and turbulent, its waters surging and raging.

"what!!"

Chen Mo suddenly let out a bloodcurdling scream, his hair began to burn on its own, his clothes crumbled inch by inch, and his skin began to crack!

This force is too powerful.

It was so powerful that Chen Mo couldn't withstand it at all.

"Ahhhh!!!"

On the empty River of Oblivion, Chen Mo's mad screams echoed.

The skin began to burn and crack, revealing the flesh and blood inside.

The sight made Nangong Ye on the shore's eyes redden; even from dozens of meters away, she could feel the pain.

"Young master has truly suffered. I had long heard that this human-dragon sacrifice was a forbidden technique, but I never imagined it would be so terrifying even before it was over. I wonder if your avatar will be of any use and if it can help you escape this calamity."

Perhaps it was because he had spent too much time with Chen Mo, sharing life and death with him, that Nangong Ye felt a pang of unease seeing Chen Mo in such pain, as if he were living a life worse than death.

Not long after -

Boom boom boom!
The power of the thirty-six-headed serpent demon continued to flow into Chen Mo's body, burning his skin and causing his flesh to ignite.

"Ahhh!"

The lonely boy screamed in agony.

Nangong Ye knew that Chen Mo was no longer a human being at this moment.

Instead, it became a vessel for some kind of power and curse.

The next moment, the banks of the River of Oblivion began to change, and one by one, scarlet spider lilies fell off... Thousands of scarlet spider lilies flew out of the flower bushes, turning into torrents of red flowers that rushed into Chen Mo's body.

Each red spider lily carries a powerful red spider lily curse.

The power of countless curse seals was frantically injected into Chen Mo's body.

"what!!!!"

Chen Mo roared, performed a shamanistic dance, and chanted incantations.

The flesh and blood had been burned and rotted away, falling off inch by inch.

Its entire body was enveloped in red flowers.

Nangong Ye's eyes welled up with tears. "Jiang Hongyue, you bitch, if you want to be resurrected, then be resurrected. Why torture the young master like this?"

After an unknown amount of time, all the power of the great serpent demons was poured into Chen Mo's body. One by one, the serpents turned into corpses, shattered into powder, and merged into the River of Oblivion, completely disappearing from sight.

The spider lilies that once grew along the riverbank all withered. All the spider lilies were injected into Chen Mo's body.

Chen Mo's body was completely devoid of skin, with only a few pieces of flesh remaining, making him look extremely pitiful.

The next moment, Chen Mo knelt before Jiang Hongyue's corpse and weakly uttered four words:

"Mom, Mom, come back."

Bang!
As soon as he finished speaking, Chen Mo also lost all life and lay motionless on the ground.

"Son!"

Nangong Ye ran quickly toward the coffin. However, when he was only ten meters away from the coffin, he was thrown back by an invisible force.

"Young Master!!!"

Nangong Ye tried with all his might to break down the barrier, calling out loudly for his young master. But Chen Mo did not respond.

next moment--

Jingle Bell.

A bell rang out from the endless red mist ahead.

Jingle bell bell~
The distant sound of bells grew closer and closer.

brush!
Nangong Ye suddenly looked up, staring intently at the endless red mist across the River of Oblivion. As the sound of the bell grew closer, Nangong Ye saw a red lantern appear in the distance.

Scarlet, like the moon.

The red lantern was initially very blurry, but then became clearer and clearer.

Da da da.

Nangong Ye also heard footsteps.

From far to near.

Nangong Ye wanted to look around more, but found her body beginning to blur. She realized it was because this dream belonged to Chen Mo; Nangong Ye had been able to enter this dream because Chen Mo had pulled her along.

Now that Chen Mo is dead, Nangong Ye can no longer linger in this dream alone.

Even so, Nangong Ye stared wide-eyed, intently at the direction from which the footsteps were coming.

Da da da.

The footsteps were getting closer.

Gradually, Nangong Ye saw a woman dressed in a red Xiuhe dress, carrying a red lantern, emerge from the dense red mist.

She was still wearing a red veil, so her face and features were not clearly visible.

"Hehehe~"

"A century has passed, the world has changed, and I, Jiang Hongyue... have finally returned."

"I hate this world so much, I want to kill everyone in this world, everyone!"

"Hee hee~"

hiss!
Nangong Ye gasped, feeling as if he had fallen into an ice cellar, experiencing an unprecedented chill down his spine.

Jiang Hongyue has really come back to life!!!
The next moment, Nangong Ye's body completely disappeared.

Only the sound of the bell remained...

Jingle Bell……

……

"Jie Jie Jie~"

"I survived! I finally survived! Hehehe~"

Inside the main burial chamber, Chen Mo knelt on the ground, letting out incredibly maniacal laughter.

"Hahaha... I survived!"

Chen Mo felt his mind was going a little crazy. He glanced at the sacrificial altar where corpses were supposed to ascend to immortality, looked at the row of eternal lamps for infants in front of him, and the corpses in the thirty-five coffins, and laughed heartily, as if he had survived a catastrophe.

Nobody knows...

When he fell asleep leaning on Nangong Ye's shoulder, he secretly released his second brother and left him in the real world.

Everything that happened afterward was part of the original body.

The one who dies in the human-dragon sacrifice is also the original body.

However, the second brother is exactly the same as the original body.

With the end of the human-dragon sacrifice, the dragon-walking ritual is no longer mandatory. There's no need to worry about turning into a snake.

The second brother is Chen Mo himself.

That's amazing!

Chen Mo knew everything that happened in his dream in real time, as if he were experiencing it himself. He even had himself die in his place once.

bump!
a voice sounded.

Chen Mo turned around after leaving and saw that the original body that had been leaning on Nangong Ye was now lying on the ground and had disappeared.

puff!
Chen Mo coughed up a mouthful of blood.

I felt extreme pain all over my body.

The death of the physical body must also have an impact on oneself. The cheat system had previously mentioned that if the avatar dies, it will reduce one's lifespan by ten years.

wrong……

The avatar provided by this cheat is actually one's own true form.

There is no difference.

When he first created his avatar, he copied his own zombie markings and ghost life incense into the avatar, and even copied his cultivation level and the ghost bone.

"Even if it costs me ten years of my lifespan, it's still a worthwhile trade. From now on, I've completely rid myself of that vile Jiang Hongyue. I no longer have to live in her shadow. I can finally live a peaceful life."

Chen Mo touched his face, and it was no different from before; he was still a handsome sixteen-year-old boy.

Then I looked at Xiaoye next to me and found that she was as beautiful as ever, but she hadn't woken up from her dream yet.

"As I die in my dream, I suppose Saya won't stay long."

Thinking this, Chen Mo went over and carried the mirror on his back. Then he laid Nangong Ye down on the rock, saying, "Xiao Ye has suffered a lot following me this time. I hope Xiao Ye recovers from Jiang Hongyue's dream soon. I hope nothing bad happens to him."

Having completed all this, Chen Mo sat down cross-legged to the side, clasped his hands together, and experienced his own cultivation level.

It is still the Taoist practice of six incense sticks and six patterns.

The fusion rate of the ghost bone reached 70%, and there were no changes in any aspect of the body.

"The cultivation level of the Six-Striped Black Shadow Corpse Demon is sufficient for Nanyang Prefecture. After I leave this place, I'll find a place to get a good night's sleep. Then I'll go back to the Green Wolf Gang and live a proper life. Since transmigrating, things have finally become more stable. As for whether Jiang Hongyue has returned to life, and what she will do after that, what does it have to do with me?"

"This success is all thanks to Xiaoye. Hehe!"

As Chen Mo was laughing, he realized something was wrong. He looked up abruptly and saw that Nangong Ye had woken up at some point and was staring blankly at him, her clear, beautiful eyes filled with glistening tears.

Chen Mo suddenly stood up and laughed, "Xiao Ye, you're awake. Perfect, let's leave here."

Nangong Ye stood up without saying a word, simply walked to Chen Mo, and threw herself into his arms, holding him tightly.

amount……

Chen Mo was stunned for a moment, unsure of what to do with his hands, but finally politely patted Xiao Ye on the shoulder.

After a long while, Nangong Ye finally released Chen Mo and smiled, "Young master is very lucky. I thought you were dead. Is it because of your incarnation?"

Chen Mo said, "Hmm. What died was just one of my avatars. I'm unharmed. By the way, has your ghost curse disappeared?"

"Hmm. I can't sense the presence of the Ghost Curse anymore."

bump.

Nangong Ye punched Chen Mo's chest with her fist: "Young master is so heartless. You clearly used a clone to go in at first, but you didn't tell me beforehand. I was worried for a long time."

Chen Mo was taken aback and said, "At first, I wasn't sure if the clone would be useful. I might actually die inside, so I didn't say much. I didn't want to be disappointed. But I was able to escape thanks to Xiao Ye."

Nangong Ye smiled faintly, like a blooming snow lotus, "I will not hold this against you this time, but if you dare to deceive me again next time, it will not end so well."

Chen Mo still had a smile on his lips. "Shall we leave here first?"

Nangong Ye looked around and said, "Let's burn all the coffins here. That way, the resentment of these twin demons won't continue to wreak havoc and harm the surrounding people."

Chen Mo wasn't opposed to the good things that came along as a bonus.

Although this place is in a cave and there is no wood, the coffin can still be burned.

The two men set a huge fire, burning the coffin and the corpse inside to ashes.

Only after completing all this did the two breathe a sigh of relief.

"gone."

Chen Mo turned and left. Perhaps because he had spent forty years with Xiao Ye in his dream, he not only felt a deep empathy for her but it also became a subconscious impulse. He instinctively reached out to take Nangong Ye's hand. Nangong Ye stiffened slightly for a moment, but did not refuse. He gripped Chen Mo's hand tightly and walked back the way they had come.

Before long, the two emerged from the cave.

Nangong Ye struck back with his palm, causing the cave entrance to collapse.

Once outside, the two saw the sunlight streaming down from above, warming them comfortably.

Chen Mo felt a long-lost sense of comfort.

He looked up at the warm sun overhead, raising his hand to shield his eyes from the sunlight, peering through his fingers at the rising sun. "It's been so long since I've basked in the sun like this. Xiao Ye, let's go to Honghe County and find an inn to stay for a couple of days before we talk about anything else."

Nangong Ye nodded: "Mm."

……

Fulai Inn, Honghe County.

A separate residence in a villa.

Chen Mo fell asleep as soon as he got to his room.

After what happened before, he was really exhausted.

I slept for a day and a night, and didn't wake up until dusk.

"I'm still so tired... My neck even aches." Chen Mo opened his eyes, feeling incredibly exhausted.

After stretching his limbs, Chen Mo finally got out of bed, only to find his back unusually heavy.

Chen Mo then shrugged his back, reached out and touched something, but found nothing.

"I used to dream that I was hunched over because I was old, but now I'm a sixteen-year-old boy, so why does my back still hurt so much?"

Chen Mo figured that his experience at Da Yin Mountain was too bizarre and terrifying, so he didn't think much of it. He got up, washed up, and then walked out of the living room. He saw Nangong Ye standing in the pavilion in the courtyard, wearing a purple dress, looking up at the fiery clouds in the sky.

Chen Mo walked up to Xiao Ye and stood beside her: "Do you still think this world is good?"

Nangong Ye nodded: "Mm."

Chen Mo asked, "By the way, Xiao Ye, what happened after I made the sacrifice? Did Jiang Hongyue really come back to life?"

Nangong Ye recounted what he had seen and heard back then.

Chen Mo was shocked: "This Jiang Hongyue is truly a terrifying evil spirit. She actually came out of the underworld carrying a red lantern... This fiend has broken the rules of the underworld, and who knows what kind of punishment she will suffer. I'm afraid the world will not be peaceful from now on."

Nangong Ye was also under immense pressure.

Chen Mo can be a hands-off manager.

However, Nangong Ye, as the head of the Great Qian Demon Suppression Division, could not remain uninvolved.

“By the way, young master, I plan to set off for the capital tomorrow. Would you like to come with me to the capital…” Nangong Ye said, turning back to look at Chen Mo. When she saw Chen Mo’s back, Nangong Ye suddenly gasped!

P.S.: The "Red Lantern Robbery" volume is finally finished. It should be logically sound overall; if there are any plot holes, please point them out! This volume is quite expansive and serves as a crucial transition throughout the entire story. I've read everyone's comments, and some feedback wasn't very positive. It was indeed difficult to write. I originally wanted to expand on Jiang Hongyue's life, but since it's not from the protagonist's perspective, writing too much would have been considered filler, resulting in Jiang Hongyue's life not having that grand, sweeping feel. Also, I gave Xiao Ye a lot of screen time, clearly making her the female lead. I don't know if everyone likes Xiao Ye. I'm not very good at writing romance, so I'll just have to do it.
