Trench Bolts and Magic

Chapter 156 Oh my god, it's Lord MG14!

Chapter 156 Oh my god, it's Lord MG14!
In that instant, Morin realized that their disguise was about to be exposed.

He did not hesitate at all, nor did he make any unnecessary movements.

Almost at the same moment the captain opened his mouth to question him, the hand on his thigh had already silently released the safety of his MP14 submachine gun.

He opened the car door and got out, simultaneously activating the [Mage Shield] with a gesture and a simple incantation.

A light blue, semi-transparent shield appeared on his body and then disappeared in an instant.

"Da da da da da!"

The next second, a piercing gunshot shattered the silence of the night.

The MP14 submachine gun in Morin's hand spat out deadly fire, a long burst of 9mm bullets sweeping towards the people at the door.

Captain Flander, who had just been questioning Manstein, froze on the spot with disbelief, his expression turning into one of utter terror.

Before he could even react, a burst of blood erupted from his chest, and he fell backward like a tattered sack.

His two guards were also riddled with bullets at almost the same time, falling into pools of blood without uttering a sound.

The sudden gunfire was the clearest signal of attack!
Manstein and the other commandos in the vehicle reacted extremely quickly.

The instant Morin fired, they all pushed open their car doors, used the vehicles as cover, raised their weapons, and opened fire on the stunned Flanders soldiers around them.

"Da da da da da!"

"Da da da da da!"

A single MG14 light machine gun, along with six MP14 submachine guns, unleashed terrifying firepower at that moment.

The dense hail of bullets, like the scythe of death, ruthlessly reaped the lives of those in the square in front of the command post.

Those Flanders soldiers, who were chatting on guard duty one second, were torn to shreds by a sudden hail of bullets the next.

Before they even figured out where the enemy had come from, they fell to the ground, filled with bewilderment and resentment.

Within a mere ten seconds, not a single enemy remained standing at the command post entrance.

"Quickly put on your chest armor! Get ready to storm in!"

As Morin spoke, he deftly took out his bra from the car and put it on.

The Type 56 chest sling was easy to put on, allowing everyone to quickly complete the task. Morin also took out two spherical grenades from his carrying bag.

He pulled the fuse, didn't even look, and threw it directly into the open gate of the main fortress building.

One of the assault team members followed suit and threw in several grenades.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

A series of violent explosions came from inside the fortress.

The agonizing screams of the Flanders soldiers inside were completely drowned out by the explosion.

"Come at me!"

Without pausing for a moment, Morin took the still-hot MG14 light machine gun from the machine gunner beside him.

Then, with his left hand holding the handle and the constantly rippled [Mage Shield] in front of him, he charged into the command building while suppressing fire.

His fearless charging posture was deeply imprinted in the eyes of every assault team member behind him.

"Keep up with the officer!"

Manstein roared, grabbed his submachine gun, and was the first to follow.

The other assault team members followed closely behind, forming a standard assault formation, and stormed into the command building.

Upon entering the gate, a strong smell of gunpowder and blood hit you.

The hall was a mess, littered with mangled corpses and burning debris.

Several guards and officers who had miraculously survived the grenade explosion were struggling to get up.

They were met with the cold, furious roar of the light machine gun in Morin's hand.

"Fire! Fire! Suppress them!"

"Ta-ta-ta! Ta-ta-ta!"

A short, precise shot instantly ended their suffering.

Its powerful automatic firepower proved incomparably effective in the confined indoor space.

The guards and officers in the command post were completely unable to organize any effective resistance.

Their single-shot rifles and pistols seemed utterly powerless against the hail of bullets from submachine guns and light machine guns.

Often, before they even had a chance to aim, they were riddled with bullets. Occasionally, a few bullets would come at them, but they were blocked by Morin's [Mage Armor].

"The first floor is safe!"

"Second floor is safe!"

The assault team worked in small groups, clearing the rooms one by one.

They cooperated seamlessly, their tactics were skillful, and the whole process was smooth and efficient, without the slightest hesitation.

Before long, they had completely taken control of the entire fortress building.

Morin led Manstein back to the communications room located at the innermost part of the command center hall on the first floor.

The door was closed when they rushed in.

Just as Morin was about to kick the door open, it opened from the inside.

Several Flemish soldiers in signal corps uniforms walked out with their hands raised and their faces pale.

"Don't shoot! We surrender! We surrender!"

One of the men, who looked like an officer, shouted in a trembling voice.

Morin pointed his gun at them, signaling them to stand against the wall.

At the same time, two assault team members covered each other as they rushed to the top of the main building.

The magic technicians stationed inside the large anti-aircraft magic device were terrified when they heard the intense gunfire and explosions downstairs.

They didn't even have the thought of resisting; they obediently raised their hands in surrender and were taken down by the commandos at gunpoint.

Morin handed the light machine gun back to the shooter, then simultaneously gave him the order:

"Have the light machine gun team and two other members stand guard at the door to let the people outside in."

"Yes, sir!"

The machine gunner accepted the order and left.

Morin walked into the command hall and his gaze fell on the corpses in officers' uniforms on the ground.

He crouched down and began to identify the ranks on their collar insignia one by one, and searched for their identification documents.

"One major general, two colonels, and one lieutenant colonel."

As Morin turned the body over, he muttered to himself.

His fingers were covered in warm blood, but he didn't care and just casually wiped them on the uniforms of the corpses.

Soon, he found a familiar name on the major general's officer's ID.

Gerald Lyman was the commander of the 3rd Infantry Division of the United Kingdom of Flanders and the commander of the entire garrison of Liège Fortress.

Maureen looked up and exchanged a glance with Manstein, who was searching with him.

Both of them saw an indescribable shock and ecstasy in each other's eyes.

They knew what that meant.

The headquarters of the 3rd Infantry Division of the United Kingdom of Flanders, the core force stationed in the Liège fortress complex, was wiped out by just a few people!
Major General Lyman, the division commander, along with a group of his senior officers, were all killed in the brief but intense firefight just now.

This victory was so brilliant that even they themselves felt it was somewhat unreal.

"Sir, did we...we succeeded?"

Manstein's voice trembled slightly with excitement.

"Success."

Morin stood up and let out a long sigh of relief.

“We uprooted their command post.”

Just then, a burst of intense gunfire and shouts of battle erupted outside the command post.

The twelve assault team members who had been left on the perimeter began attacking from the outside after hearing the signal to move in.

Because they were also wearing Flanders uniforms, most of the enemies they encountered would hesitate for a moment at first.

That brief moment of hesitation was enough for these assault team members armed with automatic weapons to seize the initiative and unleash their terrifying firepower advantage.

Before long, under the cover of a light machine gun team waiting outside, the twelve assault team members fought their way through and stormed into the command post building.
