Chapter 63 The Hot-Melt Plug Pillow
Chapter 63 The Hot-Melt Plug Pillow Section
"Could you please give me a live demonstration?" Radito's voice carried an unprecedented urgency as his optical eyepiece was fixed on Nguyen Van Bo.
On a whim, Ruan Wenbo purchased a standard laser gun from the system store.
Redito then saw Nguyen Van Bo make a grasping motion in the air, and then a brand-new Imperial standard laser gun with factory markings appeared out of thin air in his hand, the gun body still carrying a faint, as if newly formed, glowing light.
Redito held his head with his mechanical hand, emitting a low hum. He felt all the logical circuits within him, used for thinking, begin to scream and burn; the hydraulic pressure in the pipes rapidly reached its limit, emitting a piercing hiss. This was beyond the scope of all his known knowledge; it was simply… a miracle!
Redito exerted all his strength to suppress his abnormal state, bringing his body, which had been trembling due to overload, back to normal. After barely returning to normal, what followed was a tsunami-like surge of thirst for knowledge, possessiveness, and a hint of ambition hidden deep within his heart.
This secret, the principles behind it… only he will know, only he will be able to study! Radiator made up his mind. As for whether it's related to the warp? What in this universe is unrelated to the warp… even if it really is related to taboos, Radiator's thirst for knowledge at this moment will still lead him to choose to ignore it.
Rediton's synthesized voice carried an unprecedented seriousness: "From now on, if you're going to do this kind of thing, you'll all have to go inside." As he spoke, he pointed to the magnificent Trinity foundry behind him.
Redito emphasized, "Especially after that Holy Hammer Inquisitor arrived with the Ministry of Justice."
"Inquisitors of the Holy Hammer Order?" Ruan Wenbo immediately became serious and pressed on, "Inquisitors still exist on this planet?!"
“No,” Redito shook his head, his mechanical face expressionless, but his tone was firm, “No.”
"The subspace storm has dissipated. Have you made contact with him?" Ruan Wenbo asked again.
“While the subspace storm is indeed gradually weakening, it’s not yet at the point where it can transmit information,” Redito replied.
Ruan Wenbo was puzzled: "Then how can you be so sure that a judge is on his way with the Ministry of Justice?"
“Because Peditia is a major taxpayer in the Aktray system,” Redito said matter-of-factly. “Now that it has lost contact due to the warp storm and has not paid taxes for thirty years, the Imperial Ministry of State Affairs must be frantic. As soon as the warp storm dissipates, the Inquisitors will be there immediately.”
Ruan Wenbo choked; this reason… was indeed irrefutable. Thirty years without paying taxes—given the Empire's obsession with tithes, a judge seemed quite reasonable. He thought for a moment, then asked, “Then why was it determined to be the Holy Hammer, and not a campaign against rebellion or foreign aggression?”
“It’s a very simple logical deduction,” Redito explained. “What severed Perditia’s connection with the Empire was a warp storm, and before that, there was no news of the Orks or Genestealers, nor any news of a mutiny by the Imperial army. So, the only ones who would come would be the Inquisitors of the Holy Hammer Order.”
“I see,” Nguyen Van Bo understood. He nodded and said, “I will tell the soldiers about this, and we will try our best to avoid any conflict with that judge.”
Redito could tell, of course, that Nguyen Van Bo didn't really care about the matter. He probably thought that if the judge intended to cause trouble, he could simply learn from the excellent experience of the Katachan jungle warriors and stuff a thermobaric bomb into a pillow—that would be the end of it. Redito's attitude towards this was…
“Remember to prepare the tithes you owe,” Redito reminded her.
Ruan Wenbo sighed, "Let's take it one step at a time." Neither of them was worried about whether the Empire would hold them accountable later. In Redito's view, as long as the taxes were paid, the death of an inquisitor would immediately be pushed to the lowest priority in the Empire's mountain of documents. By the time a new inquisitor was assigned to investigate, it would probably be hundreds of years later, and these mortals would have all died of old age if they hadn't died in battle.
Ruan Wenbo thought so too. Anyway, players can be resurrected, and after being resurrected, they will be seen as complete newbies by others. What's there to be afraid of? Just use a hot-melt plug pillow and that's it.
After speaking, Redito's mechanical body turned slightly to the side, gesturing for Ruan Wenbo to follow. With another muffled rumble, the giant gate slowly closed, leading the players into the Trinity Forge.
This is an unimaginable industrial behemoth, where countless enormous robotic arms swing through the air, sparks fly, scorching metal vapors fill the air, and deafening hammer blows and chainsaw roars rise and fall, forming the most sacred hymn for mechanical enthusiasts.
The well-trained Skitali of the Guardians guided the ordinary players to designated rest areas. The players looked around excitedly, filled with curiosity about everything before them. Some players even began to scrutinize the Skitali, wondering when they could get their own set of mechanical prosthetics.
Ruan Wenbo was led in another direction by Radit. They walked through corridors filled with pipes and cables, occasionally passing mechanical servants or lower-ranking Mechanicus who cast respectful glances at Radit. Finally, they arrived at a relatively quiet room.
The room wasn't luxurious; rather, it was filled with a utilitarian style. In the center of the room, a huge holographic projection device emitted a faint blue light. Redito lightly touched the control panel with his fingertips, and an incredibly detailed sand table instantly unfolded before Ruan Wenxi.
It was a three-dimensional and detailed map of the Middle Nest, with every pipe, every ruin, and every eroded building clearly visible. Even more alarming was the countless red dots and areas densely marked on the sand table, spreading like malignant tumors—these were the lair and outposts of the Genestealer cult.
“The matter of the Inquisitors can be discussed later,” Rediton’s synthesized voice echoed in the hall, “but the matter of the Genestealer Cult cannot be delayed. Its threat must be eliminated as soon as possible, even if it is temporary.”
Ruan Wenbo's gaze swept across the sand table, and the dense red markings made him frown.
“At this density, a frontal attack would take at least a year,” Nguyen Van Bo analyzed in a deep voice. “The best way is to decapitate them.”
He raised his hand and pointed to several red dots on the sand table that were highlighted and located in the core area of the sect: "Directly destroy their high-ranking members, so that they lose command and fall into chaos."
He then helplessly spread his hands: "Unfortunately, as you can see, our company's current situation is far from adequate. Our firepower is far from sufficient."
Radito stared directly at Nguyen Van Bo through his optical eyepiece, the cold red light seeming to penetrate any disguise. He asked, "What do you want?"
“I hope you can take charge of supplying us with the military equipment we need…” It’s so easy to talk to smart people. Nguyen Van Bo’s tone became serious as he said, word by word, “and to mechanically modify those who are going to their deaths.”
