Chapter 56 Our troops have captured the side room and are launching an assault on the toilet!

Under the cover of fire from the Sixth Squad, the members of the Fifth Squad skillfully operated their tools, clearing away the barbed wire and landmines at the entrance to the residential area. The entire process was carried out openly and even carried a hint of defiance, while the gene stealers inside the residential area, under the strong restraint of the purebloods, did not dare to show their faces.

After clearing the area, the players from both classes met up and swaggered to the main entrance of the residential area. The class leader was about to signal the other players to set up their guns so he could kick the door open, but JK stopped him.

“We can’t go through the main gate,” JK said. “If the other side isn’t stupid, they’ll definitely have guns set up behind the door, and maybe even a bunch of bombs, just waiting for you to open it. If we open the door, we’re no match for those cunning guys who are already prepared, and we’ll all be sent back to the company commander.”

The squad leader scratched his head and asked, "But there are no windows here. Where can we go if we don't go through the main gate?"

“Feel the material of this wall,” JK gestured for the squad leader to touch the wall next to him. “Although I don’t understand Warhammer’s materials science, I can still tell the difference between good and bad. Just by looking at it and touching it, you can tell that this wall wasn’t made with care. At least it’s not as blast-resistant as the materials used to build the hive.”

JK didn't keep anyone in suspense and directly proposed her plan: "Let's just blow up the wall and break in through it! At least we can catch them off guard!"

"You're a fucking genius!" The squad leader's eyes lit up, and he slapped his thigh. "After this battle, I'll give you my squad leader position!"

"We'll talk about the squad leader's transfer later. You go and stay somewhere safe first—if you die by accident, we'll all have to go back to the company commander's side anyway."

Meanwhile, in Residential Unit 3 on the first floor of the residential area, several gene-stealers were aiming crude automatic guns at the door. A four-armed gene-stealer lay sprawled on the ceiling in a bizarre posture, ready to ambush any enemy. Their nerves were taut; after the sounds outside the residential area subsided, their focus shifted even further to the door, using almost all their senses to perceive the corridor beyond, to the point that they ignored the rustling sounds behind them.

With a deafening roar, the wall behind them suddenly exploded, and the shattered concrete and steel fragments, along with the shockwave, instantly claimed the lives of all the gene stealers in the living room.

Just as the players stormed into the living room of this room, the wall of the adjacent [Residential Unit 5] suddenly exploded, and the flames of automatic guns gushed out from the blasted opening, spraying wildly towards the living room of Unit 3.

Clearly, the gene-stealers weren't fools. The enemies in the next room quickly realized the players could breach walls and immediately retaliated with their heavy firepower. The players were instantly suppressed, but they didn't hesitate to fight back, using some of the living room's facilities as cover.

The battle reached a fever pitch the moment it began. The players displayed astonishing resilience when facing the gene stealers, refusing to back down and determined to deliver a fatal blow even with their last breath.

Taking advantage of the smoke and dust kicked up by the exploding wall, a gene-stealer slipped like a ghost into the living room of Residential Unit 3. With a swift swing of its claws, it disemboweled a player who couldn't react in time, spilling bloody intestines onto the floor. The gene-stealer, assuming its victim was incapacitated, shifted its attention to its next target.

The player struggled, using his last ounce of strength to plunge a dagger deep into its head, even twisting it viciously halfway around. The Genestealer, writhing in agony, let out a piercing scream, furiously tearing the player to shreds with its four arms.

Because of its severe brain injury, it was unable to dodge and was instantly torn apart by the concentrated fire of the other players. In fact, even if it had escaped immediately, it wouldn't have survived long with its brain damaged.

Meanwhile, a gene stealer cunningly hid in the toilet of Residential Unit 3. It held its breath until it heard a player walk by, then seized the opportunity to pounce out, killing the unsuspecting player and throwing the severed limbs at other players, attempting to intimidate them, block their view, and use this as a pretext to quickly move away and leave the area.

The other players didn't care at all. Facing the flying limbs, they didn't even blink, showing no hesitation whatsoever. The player at the front, wielding a blood-stained machete, hacked at the gene-stealer's leg three or four times, leaving it a bloody mess. The gene-stealer, in excruciating pain, tried to retaliate, but was instantly killed by the other players rushing in, swallowed up in a flurry of blades. The first player to kill the gene-stealer wiped the splattered intestines from his face and couldn't help but mutter, "Damn, that brat's guts are all over my face. This game is really bloody and violent."

"To be honest, apart from vomiting a couple of times when I first encountered this situation, I actually adapted very quickly afterwards. Am I just born to be a top soldier?"

"Come on, it's probably just that the game put some kind of mental filter on you."

The player had just finished wiping the intestines off his face during the chat and was preparing to rejoin the battle when a stray bullet, flying from an unknown direction with a whistling sound, struck him precisely in the head. With a muffled "pop," his head exploded instantly, splattering red and white matter, and his body collapsed limply to the ground.

After an average of one and a half deaths per person, totaling more than thirty lives, the side where the suicide bombers rushed in was no longer rife with cunning. Naturally, the players rushed to the next room without hesitation—the [Central Meeting Room] located in the center of the first floor.

Meanwhile, in the factory manager's room on the top floor, the pure-blooded gene-stealer listened anxiously to the continuous explosions and gunshots. Through a telepathic link, it asked the fourth-generation hybrid gene-stealer stationed on the first floor, "What's the situation?"

"We've held off the attack for now, confining the enemy to the side room of the central reception hall!" the fourth-generation hybrid gene stealer roared, his voice filled with the intensity and exhaustion of battle. "Now they're attacking the restrooms! Sir, we're suffering heavy casualties, at least a hundred first-generation and fifty second-generation soldiers have been wiped out. I need reinforcements! Give me another squad of mutants, and I can not only launch a counterattack and push them out of the toilets, but also retake the main room and the side room, and hold out for an hour!"

The pureblood gene stealer paced anxiously, its massive body moving back and forth in the cramped room. It pondered, finally replying, "No, that team of mutants in the control room on the second floor can inflict massive damage on the enemy. I can't move them there."

Upon hearing this, the fourth-generation hybrid gene stealer's voice was filled with grief and indignation: "But the only load-bearing wall on the first floor is the reception room wall. They can't blow it through, so they can only charge head-on. This is our only advantage on the first floor! If the reception room falls, the first floor can only hold out for another hour at most!"

"Show me the courage to serve the Lord of the Void!" The pureblood gene stealer abruptly stopped and roared, "You've only been holding out on the first floor for thirty minutes! If you utter another word of such a failure, I won't even need the Astral Army; I'll kill you right now!"

The two squad leaders, who were in the safe zone outside, were not slow to receive information, even without a mental link—the dead players were resurrected around them, so they could just ask directly.

"How's the battle going?" Just then, a player respawned next to them and was stopped by them as he tried to move forward.

The player paused in his tracks and replied, "We've taken over the side room of the reception room and are now launching an assault on the toilets!"

"You said you'd taken down the concubine when you were resurrected for the third time, and now this is your seventh resurrection!" the squad leader of Class Four couldn't help but complain.

"We were locked in a tug-of-war before, but this time we've really taken it! We've almost exhausted the enemy's manpower on the first floor!" the player argued.
