Chapter 256 We're at war, be serious!
"For the Emperor!"

Reinhard's roar, like a war drum, pounded in the hearts of every dying warrior. He led the charge, his chainsword flashing silver in his hand, tearing apart an oncoming Bladebug and a Terran warrior behind it the instant he plunged into the swarm. The splattered, bloody green blood left mottled marks on the power armor.

Although he charged straight at the swarm, he wasn't acting blindly. His battle-hardened eyes precisely spotted a relatively weak point in the chaotic battlefield, a section of defense on the verge of collapse, where fresh reinforcements were desperately needed. Reinhard's judgment was correct; their arrival was undoubtedly a shot in the arm.

BUG and his fifty players, along with the members of the Lemanrus crew, followed closely behind. Armed with laser guns and bomb guns, they surged into the Tyranid wave under Reinhard's leadership.

The battlefield instantly became even more chaotic and bloody. Laser beams and explosive bombs flew wildly, while Zerg claws and bone scythes swept across the battlefield. Although the players were facing a hellish scene, their unique frenzy drove them to frantically pull the triggers. Gunshots, explosions, alien screech, and human roars intertwined, creating a symphony of death.

After a short, precise shot, Bug's laser gun began to charge, its muzzle glowing a dazzling orange-red. He aimed at a massive, hard-shelled Tyrannosaurus Beetle and yanked the trigger. A high-energy laser beam roared out, striking the beetle precisely in the head.

"boom!"

With a muffled explosion, the Samurai Insect's head instantly shattered, splattering foul-smelling brain matter and bone fragments everywhere. The terrifying alien twitched a few times from the force of the impact before collapsing to the ground. However, the laser gun in BUG's hand also emitted a puff of white smoke due to overload, its body scorching hot, clearly indicating it was operating beyond its limits.

He quickly removed the smoking energy magazine and was preparing to replace it with a new one. Just then, a strong sense of crisis suddenly struck!
"hiss--!"

A swift, dark shadow, accompanied by a foul stench, suddenly pounced out from the thick fog on the side! It was a Licat, its razor-sharp claws whistling through the air as it aimed straight for BUG's throat.

BUG, with his extensive experience with death, reacted instinctively. He jerked backward and rolled to the side, barely dodging Ricard's first deadly attack. Ricard's sharp claws grazed his helmet, sending a chill down his spine.

However, Licat was incredibly fast. Missing his first attack, he immediately adjusted his stance, preparing for a second strike. Just at that critical moment, a figure charged towards them like a large truck.

"Da da da!"

As Reinhard charged, the explosive pistol in his left hand was already raised, spitting fire as a burst of explosive shells accurately rained down on Ricard. Although Ricard reacted quickly, twisting to avoid most of the fatal blows, several shells still grazed its armor and exploded, tearing off parts of its outer skin. Green blood splattered, causing it to freeze briefly.

Reinhard gave it no chance. Taking advantage of the brief moment of imbalance after being hit by the bomb, he lunged forward, his thick, power-armored arm gripping the Licat's attacking forelimbs with pincer-like precision. The once ferocious Licat was rendered immobile by the Space Marine's immense strength, as if frozen in place!

Ricard let out an angry hiss, its other claw attempting to retaliate, but Reinhard reacted faster. He twisted violently, lifting Ricard's entire body and slamming it heavily to the ground.

"boom!"

The hard shell struck the ground with a dull thud, and Ricard twitched in pain. Reinhard gave it no chance to catch its breath; he bent down, gripping Ricard's body tightly with his other hand, pinning it firmly to the ground.

In a mere ten seconds of exchange, the terrifying alien, which had been capable of tearing apart the Imperial Guard's defenses, was completely subdued by the Space Marines and rendered immobile. Reinhard's cold eyes were fixed on the struggling Ricard, his voice low and menacing: "You're not the first Ricard I've killed." With that, he prepared to use force to snap the alien's neck, ending its life.

However, at that very moment, a slightly hurried voice came from the side: "Spare the worm!"

BUG instinctively turned around and saw an empty-handed, dying man running towards him, panting heavily. His name ID above his head was very conspicuous: 【The Little White Who Beats Up Licardo Barehanded】.

"Are you the player who's trying to take down Licat bare-handed?" BUG asked in surprise.

"Yes, yes, yes!" The other person nodded repeatedly like a chicken pecking at rice, a hint of flattery and excitement on their face. "So, can I have this Licat? Although I've died more than thirty times, failure is the mother of success. I think I can definitely win this time..."

Before the words were finished, a close-range explosion of a bomb shattered their eardrums.

"boom!"

Likat's head exploded instantly, his foul-smelling brains and bone fragments splattering everywhere with green blood. But this fatal blow did not stop Reinhard. With a sudden burst of strength, he gripped Likat's mangled body and ripped the bloodied, mangled head off his neck.

He tossed aside Ricard's mangled head, then turned and glanced at [BUG] and [the newbie who beat Ricard up with his bare hands]: "We're at war, be serious!"

BUG touched his helmet, somewhat awkwardly holding the laser gun with its magazine just changed, while [Little White Who Beats Ricard Barehanded] looked at Ricard's corpse on the ground with a dejected expression, as if he had missed out on some huge prize.

"Follow me!" Reinhard said no more, brandishing his chainsaw sword once more as he charged toward the new swarm of insects.

The suicide bombers followed closely behind, surrounding Reinhard and unleashing their firepower on the breach he had created. The roar of bomb guns and the howl of laser guns mingled together, forcefully halting the swarm's advance.

With each swing of Reinhard's chainsword, several aliens were taken, clearing a path for the players behind him. The players, in turn, proved their worth: heavy weapon users unleashed grenades deep into the swarm, tearing apart the Terran warriors' formation; while light weapon users precisely targeted the smaller Terran creatures attempting to bypass Astartes.

Led by Reinhard, this fresh force of Space Marines and Suicide Bombers, like a sharp wedge, forcefully cleaved through the Tyranid tide. They advanced step by step, mountains of corpses piling up, the stench of blood soaking the scorched earth. Finally, after paying a heavy price, they reached the defensive line formed by the wreckage of several Lemanrus and Chimera transports. This steel wall, though broken, was a crucial position they had previously lost.

"Take cover! Suppress fire!" Reinhard gave the order, and the players immediately spread out, quickly taking up advantageous positions behind the tank wreckage. A barrage of laser guns and grenade launchers was once again established, firmly suppressing the Zerg's attempt to counterattack outside the defensive line. At this moment, they successfully recaptured the first line of defense, buying a precious respite for this blood-soaked battlefield.
