Mystery: The Last Shepherd

Chapter 491 Leonard's Investigation

Chapter 491 Leonard's Investigation
"This way, we can temporarily distract 'Aquaman'."

After sitting down again, Klein said, "But I'm not sure how long I can hold him off."

"enough."

Lu Ze said, after assessing his own strength, "Our goal is to find someone, and once we find them, we can leave. The worst-case scenario is that a conflict breaks out. Even so, I should be able to handle two Sequence 4s in a short time."

The other two remained silent for a moment.

For anyone else, saying this would be incredibly arrogant. A Sequence 4 taking on two Sequence 4s, and speaking so casually—but Luze has concrete achievements to prove it—and when he stormed the Rune Palace alone, he was only a Sequence 5!
If it weren't for the "Sea King" on the island, he would have even planned to just storm the governor's mansion and kill one or two Sequence 4s who were herding livestock.

"Because of the church's mission, I have recently been monitoring MI9 in Bayam and have also figured out the military's deployment map, as well as their internal passwords, personnel movements and other intelligence."

"The Hanged Man," Alger said calmly, regaining his composure.

After receiving help from Mr. Fool, he materialized the relevant information and passed it on to Luze.

"Thank you, that's a great help."

Lu Ze took the documents, examined them, and confirmed that they were quite valuable. He nodded, indicating that he had noted this favor.

"Notify me before the operation so I can prepare accordingly."

"The Hanged Man" took a deep breath and said.

Since this matter is unavoidable, all he can do is use it to maximize his own interests. If the plans of [Moderation] and [The World] proceed smoothly, all is well; however, if something unexpected happens, it will inevitably trigger a chaotic war among demigods.

Chaos, however, presents the best opportunity to profit.

"I remember."

Lu Zedao.

The three men looked at each other for a moment, and feeling that there was nothing more to talk about, they bowed to the empty seat at the head of the table and said, "Mr. Fool, our business here is finished."

Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.

Backlund, Church of St. Samuel.

"Finally, the aurora borealis has reappeared."

Red Gloves squad leader Soster put down the telegram, sighed, and said, "Blood sacrifice, fanatical believers, dangerous descent rituals... From now on, these kinds of cases will increase."

For a moment, he even missed the days when the Blood Cultivator was still in Backlund. At least that guy's malice towards the Aurora Society was so intense; he was always at the forefront of the fight. At one point, the Aurora Society in Backlund even completely disappeared, making people wonder if he had wiped them all out.

Upon hearing this, the people in the red gloves gathered around.

"Aurora Conference?"

In a corner of the lounge, Leonard tucked his leg back onto the table and asked curiously.

"Yes, a new underground gathering of extraordinary individuals has recently appeared in Backlund. The organizer calls himself 'Mr. X' and is trying to proselytize some of the attendees."

Someone read the contents of the telegram and relayed it.

"Mr. X sounds like a divine messenger."

Leonard chuckled, "It's also possible that some daring guy is impersonating him on purpose to intimidate the participants."

"It shouldn't be. This 'divine messenger' is quite powerful."

Soster shook his head. "'The Punisher' once sent a small team to raid the meeting place. But Mr. X not only blocked the attack, but also calmly teleported away before the church's aid arrived. Not long after, he organized another meeting in another place."

With such power, he truly seems like a divine messenger.

Leonard's expression turned serious. "Then we'll have one more enemy to face from now on." "Goddess above, may She bless us and help us defeat the enemy soon."

Soster drew a red moon on his chest, and everyone else followed suit, and they began to discuss how to deal with the aurora borealis in the future.

Leonard listened for a while, then gradually lost interest. After greeting everyone, he left the lounge. He wasn't on duty today; he just needed to sign in at headquarters and then go home.

In the center of his solitary house, a whiteboard stood in the living room, covered with various bulletins listing numerous factions and names. A quick glance revealed the Aurora Society, the Witch Cult, Prince Edsack, and others.

Leonard is also still investigating the truth behind the smog incident.

On either side of the whiteboard, two names were written: "Blood Monk" and "Sherlock Moriarty," connected by several black lines to names such as the Aurora Society and the Prince. Below "Blood Monk" were briefings and photos of cases such as the "Lanius Case" and the "Kapin Case."

Leonard pasted a wanted poster below "Blood Monk" and then stared at the photo on it for a long time.

He gradually frowned.

"Old man."

Leonard spoke up, "Do you recognize this person? I feel like I've seen him somewhere before."

Although I wasn't familiar with the person's features, their overall demeanor seemed vaguely familiar.

How would I know?

In his mind, an old voice said irritably, "And don't disturb the elderly's rest."

"cut."

Leonard shook his head in disgust, feeling that the parasite inside his body was quite useless. "Didn't you get replenished from that person's grave? How come you're getting weaker and weaker?"

Some time ago, the entity within his mind participated in an adventure to explore a Quaternary noble tomb.

"It's precisely because there's something to supplement that we need to digest it slowly, do you understand?"

The aged voice retorted.

"Alright, alright, say whatever you want."

Leonard gave a few perfunctory replies and ignored the other person, focusing his attention on the whiteboard in front of him.

With little progress on the leads regarding the Witch Cult and the Aurora Society, it might be time to pursue another line of inquiry. He reviewed the list of those involved and ultimately pinpointed the breakthrough to the detective who had gained fame in a short period of time.

"People connected to Sherlock Moriarty: his landlord, the missing girl he once tried to find, and other detectives with whom he had dealings."

Leonard muttered to himself as he made a list, deciding whose dreams he would explore that night.

At this moment, he had no idea what he was about to discover that night.

Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.

In the captain's cabin of the SS Nikolai, in the remote waters off Bayam, the "City of Generosity," in the Middle Sudan Sea.

"Wow."

Luze spread the map of Bayam on the table and looked up at the people in front of him. First Mate Anderson, Boatswain Walter, Helmsman Rupert, and Ship's Doctor Darkwell—all the human extraordinary beings on board were here.

"For some reason, I need to infiltrate the governor's mansion in Bayam. Ideally, I'll achieve my goal without being discovered, but if something unexpected happens, I'll need your help."

He ordered his men to create chaos in the port in order to change the course of the situation.
