Mystery: The Last Shepherd

Chapter 449 Adventurers' Mutual Aid Association

Chapter 449 Adventurers' Mutual Aid Association
After watching the Dawn disappear into the depths of the sea, Luzer and Anderson sailed the sailboat they had bought from the Hanged Man to the port of Toscart Island.

"God, we're finally out of that hellhole!"

Watching the ships come and go in the harbor and feeling the long-lost human presence, Anderson breathed a sigh of relief. After several nightmarish weeks, he finally saw a glimmer of hope.

I really want to find a place to have a drink, but before that...
He glanced furtively at Lu Ze at the bow of the ship.

Gascoigne is already a Sequence 4 demigod; he needs to change his attitude when speaking from now on.

What do we do next?

Anderson took the initiative and asked Luze's opinion first, "How about we go to the bars on the island? My treat!"

"."

Lu Ze did not reply immediately; his gaze swept over the ships in the harbor.

The "Mystic's" unique heightened senses allowed him to see anomalies on several ships. These ships were shrouded in a strong stench of blood, and the sailors on board were similarly enveloped by the resentment of the many dead.

It's obvious these are pirates.

This is the border of Loen, a lawless land beyond the reach of national power, a paradise for pirates. With a little disguise, they can swagger onto the island and spend their money at the Moulin Rouge, casinos, or bars.

At that moment, a group of menacing-looking men disembarked from the ship, each clutching their newly acquired gold pounds, clearly preparing to squander them. The man surrounded in the middle exhibited a spiritual response; his rank wasn't high, only around Sequence 8 or 9—but compared to ordinary people, he was already quite powerful.

Luzer stared at them for a moment, then turned to face Anderson.

Do you know where I can redeem the bounty?

he asks.

"The Slaughterer" Gilchias and his two henchmen are still in the bottom of the cargo hold. Their bodies have been "preserved" for some time by flesh magic, so it's best to dispose of them as soon as possible.

"know."

Anderson chuckled, “On Toscart Island, there’s the official administration office of the Rune government, as well as a church of the Storm Church, where you can exchange items. However, dealing with the officials there would be troublesome. On the Sunia Sea side, it’s usually done through the local Adventurers’ Mutual Aid Association.”

The official redemption process is quite cumbersome, requiring verification of the body, waiting through procedures, and confirmation of the redeemer's identity. Basically, no one would choose this method.

"Adventurers' Mutual Aid Association?"

"Yes, it's a rather loose alliance, with the aim of mutual assistance and resource exchange. The organizer is a retired adventurer who has achieved great success and hopes to unite adventurers to fight against pirates."

Anderson shrugged and chuckled, seemingly disagreeing. "They have outposts on all the major islands of the Sunia Sea, providing convenience for adventurers. I have a feeling that this organization must be backed by some powerful force."

This is only natural. Such a large organization, even if it didn't exist at the beginning, would eventually be noticed and taken in as it expands.

However, Lu Ze didn't care about these things. For him, knowing that there was a place to exchange money was enough.

He then manipulated the flesh golems on the ship to lift the three corpses from the hold onto the deck. There, Gilchias and the others were encased in a layer of blood-red crystal, through which the gruesome corpses inside could be seen.

—It resembles some kind of terrifying version of "amber".

"hiss"

Upon seeing this, Anderson's eyelids twitched.

"You're not going to just take them there and exchange them for money, are you?"

He couldn't help but ask.

The thought of someone carrying three bizarre corpses through the streets is insane!

"of course not."

Before Anderson could even relax, Lu Zedao added, "What I mean is, I'm going to find a hotel to stay in, and you take them to exchange."

Anderson's face immediately turned extremely ugly. But no matter what, he didn't dare to voice any objections, nor did he dare to trouble Luzer to do it. He could only find rope himself, tie the three "Amber" together, and drag them off the ship.

"Stab it."

The unusual cargo immediately attracted attention, but as more and more people saw what Anderson was dragging, their expressions turned to horror. The port quickly fell silent, with only the sound of the heavy corpse scraping against the ground and the whispers of the people.

"Could that be... the fifth boatswain of the 'Undying King,' 'The Butcher' Damian?"

"The other one looks like 'Mad Dog' Bennett."

"Both of them are Agarito's men, so who is that demon-like guy?"

Those who made a living in the port were discerning; they quickly recognized the corpses and confirmed that they were all wanted pirates. Therefore, they looked at Lu Ze and his men with even greater awe.

"I suddenly realized that coming here like this once in a while isn't so bad."

Feeling the gazes of the crowd, Anderson smiled.

Lu Ze ignored him.

The two parted ways at the intersection; Luze went to find a hotel, while Anderson walked in the other direction. Followed and watched by the crowd, he dragged the three corpses forward until he entered a two-story building on the side of the street.

A sign, crookedly nailed to the small building, read "Adventurers' Mutual Aid Association".

The first floor of the small building was structured like a bar, with a few adventurers scattered around. Behind the bar, a middle-aged bald man with a huge, thick nose was half-reclining, and the bottle of Lironchi in his hand was more than half empty.

Welcome to the Adventurers' Aid Guild

Noticing someone enter, the man with the red nose blew out a welcome, reeking of alcohol.

"It's Anderson."

He glanced at the newcomer with his puffy eyes and recognized him. "You actually came back alive! Where are 'Sea Dog' and 'Crippled'?"

"They're all dead. I'm the only one who came back alive."

Anderson smiled broadly. "Jant, come and see what good stuff I brought you!"

He pulled the three corpses a little closer to the bar.

"Good stuff? You're making your fortune in those waters. Storm on the horizon! Anderson, what are you up to!"

The contact, named Jante, leaned out from behind the bar, glanced drunkenly at the floor, then his eyes widened and he let out a terrified scream.

"Haha, are you surprised?"

Anderson anticipated this reaction and said with a smile, "Come here and take a good look with your alcohol-induced eyes. Who are these guys?"

So the drunkard Jant quickly jumped over the bar and ran to the body to examine it. The other adventurers in the hall also noticed the unusual atmosphere and gathered around.

"Butcher Damian, Mad Dog Bennett—these are all henchmen of the Undying King! Then who is this corpse?"

They recognized two of them, but could not identify the demonized Gilchias.

“'The Slaughter' Gilchias.”

Anderson revealed the answer with a smile.

"!"

He was pleased to see that the atmosphere around him instantly became quiet, and everyone looked like they had seen a ghost.
