Mystery: The Last Shepherd

Chapter 436 The Non-Existent Ship

Chapter 436 The Non-Existent Ship

After careful analysis, Lu Ze roughly figured out the cause and effect of the whole incident.

Leomaster, the "Black Saint," led a group of pilgrims through the ruins of the Divine War to the deeper reaches of the Sunia Sea, attempting to meet the true Creator. However, their fleet encountered disaster on that misty island. Leomaster, the leader, suffered a personality split, giving rise to a benevolent one. He then went mad and began a massacre of the pilgrims.

The remaining members escaped in a ship, but due to the split personality that had also developed within them, they eventually went insane and died.

At this point, the entire pilgrimage group completely collapsed, leaving only Leomaster on the island. In his occasional moments of lucidity, he would create distress signals with his fingers, which the fish would then eat, until Luze followed the fingers and came to him.

"Everything makes sense now."

Lu Ze took a deep breath and thought to himself.

So, how can we safely get to the island?

He pondered for a few minutes, pacing around the square, and came up with several solutions.

First, he could utilize his cheat system, the illusory ocean current within his mind. That ocean current could protect his spirit from the corruption of evil gods, and perhaps it could also resist the dangers posed by this island. However, this was merely wishful thinking on his part, and he had not verified it.

Second, seek help from the Queen. Her methods are complex and varied; she was the one who brought him here in the first place, so she should know the situation and already have a prepared plan. The problem is that the Queen is currently entangled with the King of the Black Throne and may not be able to contact him.

Third, let Leomaster come out on his own. Since he was able to send out a distress signal, he should still have some ability to move when he is conscious. We can use him as bait to lure him onto the ship.

As for how to deal with the "Black Saint" after encountering him, he also had some ideas.

Use dreams!

Lu Ze planned to cooperate with the benevolent personality in his dream to fight the Black Knight's true form. Once the Black Knight's true form was dead, the benevolent personality would be no threat and could be easily betrayed. Although it was cruel, he had never shown mercy to the Aurora Society.

When Lu Ze woke up from his dream, the midday sun was shining into the cabin. He stroked the purring black cat beside him and went up to the deck alone.

"Oh, Captain."

Anderson had pulled up a deck chair for himself and was lounging in it, basking in the sun. He was peeling an apple with a small knife when he saw him come up and asked, "Want an apple?"

There was a bruise on his face.

The bruise wasn't inflicted by Luze, but rather by the "Bad Luck" talisman. Every two or three days, Luze would create one for Anderson to use. Using the talisman would subject him to predetermined misfortune, thus preventing unforeseen tragedies from occurring.

This "misfortune" made him unsteady on his feet, causing him to fall repeatedly on the deck and resulting in bruises on his face.

"Eat it yourself."

Lu Ze answered calmly, walked to the ship's side, and gazed at the island in the distance.

The "Black Knight" potion was approaching him step by step, but each step was extremely heavy.

"I think this island must be our final destination, right?"

Anderson lay in the chair for a while, then couldn't help but get up, walk over to him and ask, "Judging from how eager you are for it, is there something important inside that's important to you?"

"You want to know?"

Lu Ze glanced at him.

"Do not want to."

Anderson smiled knowingly. "I just hope you achieve your goal soon, so you can set sail and leave this dangerous sea as soon as possible."

As he spoke, he peeled the apple, then flicked the knife and plunged it into Lu Ze's chest and ribs.

"Pfft!" Anderson's movements were fluid and natural, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

When Lu Ze felt the pain and looked at him, his face first showed confusion, then fear.

"not me!"

Anderson shouted, immediately raising his hands and backing away, as if to show how innocent he was. But just as the two created distance, more than a dozen blazing fireballs formed around him, compressed and gathered, and then shot towards Luze!

"Boom boom boom!"

Fireballs hurtled towards Lu Ze one after another, exploding as he clutched the wound between his ribs. Crimson flames engulfed him, attempting to claim his life.

"how is this possible?"

Anderson was horrified. He felt as if his body didn't belong to him, and he was doing so many strange things without his knowledge. He wanted to go and put out the fire, but he was afraid that going there would cause further harm to Luze, so he froze on the spot.

"brush!"

But just then, the shadow beneath his feet suddenly gained its own will, wriggling and spreading upwards, quickly wrapping around his limbs and rendering him immobile. Anderson struggled and collapsed onto the deck. He saw the flames dissipate, and there was no sign of Luzer—the latter had appeared before him at some unknown time.

"What do you want to do?"

Lu Ze's wounds had healed, but he looked at him and asked coldly.

"Would you believe me if I said I didn't do it on purpose?"

Anderson smiled bitterly.

Oh no, so incredibly unlucky! I already triggered all the bad luck, why did this still happen?!
"."

Lu Ze didn't answer immediately. He also found it strange; from any standpoint, Anderson shouldn't have ambushed him—it was clearly disadvantageous for him. Yet he did it anyway, and with an innocent look on his face, as if he truly didn't know what was going on.

He was facing the Sequence 5 hunter and was about to examine him carefully when he suddenly froze.

Anderson's eyes, like mirrors, reflected a scene: the sea he was facing, and in the distance, a massive ship was slowly approaching. It was a large, dark vessel, and its appearance seemed somewhat familiar.

—The flagship of the Black King!

Lu Ze abruptly turned around to look behind him. However, the sea was completely empty; he couldn't see the ship with his naked eye!

He turned his head again and found that the reflection in Anderson's eyes was getting bigger, and the features of the ship were becoming more and more obvious!

How can it be!

Did this ship use some strange ability to conceal its form?
But if that's the case, why are Anderson's eyes able to reflect?
Lu Ze took a mirror from his pocket, but saw nothing on its surface. The ship was eerily approaching them, yet it did not manifest itself in reality.

Could it be that it is traveling in another dimension?
"Did you see a large black ship?"

Lu Ze asked seriously.

"Boat?"

Anderson looked puzzled, then, as if remembering something, said, "I saw the big black ship. I didn't see it, but I felt like I did."

There was no need for him to repeat his self-contradictory words, because the ship in his eyes grew larger and larger, and finally, in the next instant, the ship appeared in the real world without warning.

At the bow of the ship, the Black King, seated in a wheelchair, was smiling at them.
