Mystery: The Last Shepherd

Chapter 424 The Prison in the Dream

Chapter 424 The Prison in the Dream
"You can sail a boat, right?"

While flipping through the manual sent by the Hanged Man, Lu Ze asked Anderson, who had climbed onto the ship.

"I know a little bit. After all, I have to make a living at sea."

Anderson replied in a low mood.

He inspected the vessel, checking the condition of the masts and sails, and the sealing of the interior walls of each cabin. During the inspection, he became increasingly convinced that the ship could not be sailed away by just two men.

"That's fine. I have the theoretical support, and you have the practical foundation. If we cooperate, getting this ship out will be no problem."

Lu Ze laughed.

"We don't have enough people."

Anderson glanced at him and couldn't help but speak.

How many are missing?

"It will take at least ten days!"

Anderson was seriously answering the academic question when he turned around and was so shocked that he jumped up.

Then, Alexander Gascoigne, who claimed to be a missionary, grabbed his left wrist with his right hand and ripped off his entire arm!

"What are you going to do?"

He said with a hint of doubt, "I'm ready to jump ship and escape at any moment."

It's because they're from the "Secret Prayer" path that they're so crazy, even if they're not true believers in the Creator!
"Prepare the crew."

Lu Ze said calmly, throwing the arm in his hand away.

"Boom, boom."

The bloodied arm rolled down to the middle of the cabin and dissolved into a pool of blood. Then, ripples began to appear on the surface of the blood.

To Anderson's astonishment, a blood-red hand emerged from the blood, followed by an arm, a head, and a complete human body. Aside from its crimson color, it appeared to be about the same size as a normal human!
"."

Anderson's expression became quite interesting.

Blood continued to be produced, creating a second, a third, and finally a total of ten flesh and blood puppets.

"See, now we have all the necessary personnel."

Lu Ze smiled and told him that the missing left arm was slowly repairing itself. First, bone grew, then muscles and blood vessels intertwined, and finally skin was wrapped around it, creating a bizarre and terrifying scene.

"Yes, yes."

Anderson's forehead was sweating, and he managed a forced smile.

Although he had obtained the ship, Luze did not set off immediately, but instead familiarized himself with operating it. Anderson—visibly very reluctantly—led his created flesh golems to experiment with sailing.

The learning process took about an afternoon, and Luze had basically mastered the basic operations. Most people would need much more time for further practice to handle the various unexpected events that could occur at sea. But Luze could compensate with his extraordinary abilities, such as using his "Wind-Centered" ability to create wind and directly propel the sails.

"That's about enough, let's prepare to leave the island."

Lu Ze said from the bow.

"Where to?"

Anderson felt uneasy.

"Go deeper."

"Um, aren't you planning to leave this area?"

Anderson asked tentatively.

To be honest, he was terrified and genuinely wanted to leave. All his companions who had come in with him were dead, and he didn't want to follow in their footsteps.

Unfortunately, the ship's owner didn't think so.

"It's only going to be more dangerous inside."

He tried his best to persuade him.

"I know."

Lu Ze responded simply, "I have my own purpose in coming to this area, and I will not leave until it is accomplished."

"Alright then." Seeing this, Anderson was helpless and could only nod, praying in his heart that he could return safely.

"That's it."

Before he could finish speaking, darkness suddenly enveloped the surroundings.

Night fell once again.

The nights here are extremely dangerous; if you don't sleep, you'll face a crisis!
The two exchanged a glance and then went into the cabin.

Luze lay down on his bed and casually pulled Luna to the headboard. He closed his eyes, preparing to drift off to sleep.

To be honest, he was still a little uneasy about this dream encounter, unsure how to explain it to the mysterious queen. After all, she and the King of the Black Throne had fought tooth and nail for nothing more than the key that belonged to her father, yet he had ended up binding her to it.

I hope she can forgive me.
Lu Ze thought to himself, his emotions fluctuating, making it difficult for him to fall asleep.

Fortunately, he quickly adjusted his mindset, cleared his mind through meditation, and successfully fell asleep.

Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.

Luze returned to the black monastery in his dream, and what came into view was the library where the queen had been before.

However, the library has now changed drastically.

Flames leaped and burned between the bookshelves; the corpse of a large rabbit in a tuxedo, riddled with bullet holes, lay scattered on the floor alongside a squad of torn toy soldiers. The Queen still stood on the spiral staircase.

Opposite her, Baros remained seated in his wheelchair. Several venomous snakes, spitting fire, coiled around him, while illusory figures slowly emerged behind him.

They fought within the dream!
Lu Ze's appearance immediately attracted the attention of both sides.

Before Baros could react, the Queen had already looked at him.

"brush!"

Her eyes sparkled, and a strange tremor ran through Lu Ze's body.

It's teleportation within a dream!
Luze had been drawn in this way before, so he immediately understood. The Queen was sending him away, away from Baros's influence!
He did not resist, but let the force carry him away from here.

"boom!"

The fire serpent beside Baros immediately spewed flames, but it was too late; the flames landed on the floor, and Luze had already disappeared.

The surrounding scenery instantly turned pitch black, almost making Lu Ze think he had returned to the real night. But after a moment's observation, he realized he hadn't woken up and was still in a dream.

Where did the Dark Queen send me?
"boom!"

Lu Ze opened his palm and created a crimson fireball.

The firelight instantly illuminated his surroundings, and he realized that he seemed to be in a prison. Layers of iron bars separated the cells from the corridor. Through the gaps, he could see rows of similar single cells on the opposite side.

What the hell is this place?

Lu Ze muttered to himself.

He guessed that he was still inside the Black Monastery, but he didn't know his exact location or why the Queen had sent him there.

"Let's escape first and get out of here."

Lu Ze thought to himself as he walked to the iron fence.

"brush!"

Lava instantly spewed from his palm, creating a longsword gleaming with eerie blue flames, which sliced through the fence.

"laugh"

The railing vaporized instantly, leaving a smooth cut and creating a huge void.

Lu Ze stepped out of the cell.

He planned to explore the area and find out why the Queen had sent him here.

The eerie blue flames illuminated the corridor, adding a strange hue to the already dark environment. Luze walked along the corridor and found that the cells were all empty and tightly locked, impossible to open.

However, one of the cells was open, the room was messy, and a key was stuck in the lock.
