Mystery: The Last Shepherd
Chapter 282 Shaping Gods
Chapter 282 Shaping Gods
Unbeknownst to Audrey, while she was communicating with the members of the Psychological Alchemy Society, above the gray fog, the Fool she had mentioned was receiving a sacrifice from [Temperance] Luzer.
Seated in a high-backed chair, Klein extended his spirituality, touching the hazy door in front of him.
"Bang!"
The gate suddenly swung open, revealing the real world inside.
Klein's gaze passed over the doorway, and he saw a simple altar and the person presiding behind it—not Luzer, but a strange man. The man's eyes gleamed with golden light as he held two spiritually rich documents and a stack of pages in his hands.
Not Lu Ze?
Yes, he can't call me by my name directly.
Klein pondered for a moment, and with a thought, an invisible force passed through the gate, carrying the offerings to the gray mist. One item possessed the Sequence 7 Psychiatrist trait, and the other the Sequence 6 Judge trait. Luze couldn't fully trust Alger the Hanged Man yet, so he gave him a small portion to test the waters; if it sold, they'd see.
This one is £1500, and this one is £3000.
Klein felt that the two attributes were practically radiating the glow of gold coins.
He looked at the stack of pages again and realized it was Russell's diary, and the handwriting looked familiar, as if it were his own.
These are the diaries I gave him!
After going around in circles, we're back again!
Klein was both amused and exasperated.
"Dear Mr. Fool, please pass on these two special items to the Hanged Man. As for these ten pages of Russell's diary, they are my thanks for rescuing me back then."
Standing behind the man was Lu Ze. As Lu Ze opened and closed his mouth, the man also spoke, "Furthermore, in order to digest the magic potion, I will be performing a missionary role-playing. Would you like me to spread your glory to the believers?"
Since he was going to preach, he definitely needed a deity to believe in. Lu Ze didn't intend to pray to the Seven Gods, and besides, he was now somewhat connected to Mr. Fool. So he thought that perhaps he could play the role of the Fool.
Help me spread my faith?
Klein paused for a moment, and then the following scene involuntarily appeared before his eyes: his familiar colleague, solemnly introducing the Great Fool to everyone, leading everyone to praise Mr. Fool.
hiss--
He felt a chill run down his spine, and a mix of embarrassment and shame welled up inside him.
"Maybe not," Klein thought, "besides, the Aurora Society is still looking for me, and it would be easy to expose me." Maintaining his composed demeanor, he smiled slightly and said:
"No need, it's not the right time yet."
Having said that, he didn't give Lu Ze a chance to ask any more questions and immediately closed the door to the sacrifice.
On the long table were three items offered as a sacrifice by Luze. Klein first threw his own diary into the pile of junk at the back, covered it with gray mist, and then took the two extraordinary attributes, immediately communicating with the star corresponding to Alger the Hanged Man:
"[Temperance] The transaction is complete; prepare to receive the goods."
These actions were swift and rapid, almost as if they were meant to put some embarrassing situation behind them.
I need to get these things done quickly. Detective Essinger Stanton invited me to his house to discuss the case, and I can't be late.
As if making an excuse, Klein said to himself,
Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.
"Mr. Fool actually refused."
After the sacrificial ceremony ended, Lu Ze frowned and murmured to himself.
He had originally planned to preach in the name of Mr. Fool, hoping to both oppose the true Creator and please this deity. However, to his surprise, He rejected him, giving the reason that "the time is not right."
"What opportunity is Mr. Fool waiting for? Will the world undergo tremendous changes in the future?"
Lu Ze pondered, but quickly gave up because the question was too advanced.
After all, he had more pressing matters to consider. "Not spreading the faith of the Seven Gods and instead having them worship evil gods is purely harmful, and the most suitable candidate, Mr. Fool, wouldn't accept that."
Lu Ze pondered, "Using neutral, mysterious beings as a pretext... that doesn't seem feasible either. They're merely neutral, not harmless. If we provoke them, we'll be in trouble."
After much deliberation, he decided to forge a false god!
In the world before his transmigration, gods were created by humans themselves, and now he was prepared to learn from this old tradition. The advantage of this was that he could create sacred words according to his own will without worrying about disobeying the will of the gods.
Let's just call the deity "Lord" directly; there's no need to make up a name. This way, we can still compete with the true Creator for the title, and we can annoy Him as much as we can.
As Lu Ze thought about it, he gradually made up his mind.
With a wave of his hand, the golden light in the eyes of the gang member presiding over the sacrificial ceremony immediately dimmed, and he regained his senses.
"Huh? What am I doing?"
He looked at the altar in front of him and felt the mental exhaustion brought on by the depletion of his spiritual energy, and said in confusion.
"Clean things up and then forget everything that just happened."
Lu Ze spoke to him, and he immediately put aside his previous question and began to diligently tidy up the altar.
The ability to manipulate people's minds is so convenient, it's almost frighteningly convenient.
He thought to himself with some emotion as he walked out of the warehouse.
Outside the door stood a group of about a hundred people. Most were middle-aged or elderly men, with a few children and women. They all appeared ragged, weak, and exhausted. Several Lehman Brothers thugs were maintaining order on the perimeter, keeping them in line while also making them extremely nervous.
These are the herds that Luze has just created, which are not only insufficient in number but also of poor quality.
In short, you should first have a rough draft, and then gradually refine it based on the feedback from the actors.
He thought to himself, his gaze lingering for a moment on the uneasy and timid group of people.
“I have received the Lord’s will.”
Luze spoke to them, his voice not loud, but it resonated in everyone's ears, "The Lord saw the suffering of the lost sheep and sent me to save you."
The crowd didn't react much. For them, struggling to survive, faith was no longer a particularly important thing.
Seeing this, Lu Ze couldn't help but smile to himself.
"Of course, the Lord is gentle and forgiving. He doesn't mind that the lambs live first and then listen to His teachings."
As he spoke, he gave a slight nod to the gang members, and several of them carried two large barrels out of the back warehouse. The two barrels were steaming in the cold outdoor air, emitting an enticing aroma.
Inside was a steaming bowl of turnip and potato stew, with a few scattered slices of meat, freshly made. Then someone brought over several baskets of black bread; this bread was coarse and hard, its only purpose being to stave off hunger.
The crowd's attention was immediately drawn to the food; their throats bobbed and their eyes widened. Had it not been for the menacing-looking men standing nearby, they might have pounced on it.
“Line up and come over to receive your food. After you’ve eaten your fill, we’ll talk about the glory of the Lord.”
Lu Ze laughed.
Under the command of the gang members, the crowd obediently lined up in a row, like docile lambs.
Seeing this, Lu Ze immediately sensed that the "Shepherd" potion within his body was showing signs of weakening.
