Chapter 99 Assassin's Creed Eric

Chapter 99 Assassin's Creed Eric

The quest 'Hellfire Club' has been completed.

[Rewards: 2000 EXP, Anchor Point Fragment *1]

Du Mu carried Mora out of the Hellfire Club, threw her into the car, and then started the engine and sped away.

Fortunately, Sebastian and the others did not pursue them, and the two left the Hellfire Club safely.

"Thank you, Du Mu, you saved my life," Mora said gratefully, still shaken.

"Easy to do."

"Oh right, I need to report this to headquarters!"

Mora quickly dialed her boss's number and reported all the intelligence she had obtained.

However, the other party did not believe these bizarre claims at all, and even suspected that she had taken drugs.

No matter how Mora explained, her superiors refused to believe her, and she had no choice but to ask Du Mu to testify for her.

As a result, their boss suspected that the two of them had used drugs together.

Mora: "."

After the call was disconnected, Mora's chest heaved with anger. The intelligence she had risked her life to obtain had been ignored like this.

She gritted her teeth and said, "Du Mu, we need to find an expert in gene mutations to prove that what we're saying is true!"

Du Mu chuckled and said, “What a coincidence! I happen to know a top expert in this field.”

"That's great! Let's set off now!"

"No problem, hold on tight!"

Du Mu slammed the accelerator to the floor, and the luxury car shot off like an arrow amidst Mora's exclamation, speeding towards Charles's estate.

Before long, the familiar, magnificent manor came into view at the edge of the horizon.

Du Mu did not slow down at all, driving straight through the front yard, and with a stylish drift, came to a steady stop in front of the main house.

Hearing the commotion, Charles pushed open the door and saw Du Mu getting out of a very familiar luxury car.

Before he could think further, he saw a woman dressed in unusually revealing clothing stagger out of the car, her face pale as she held onto the door.

"Who is this?"

Charles looked at Du Mu with a bewildered expression.

Du Mu introduced, "This is Mora, my colleague at the CIA. We were just carrying out a mission."

Charles was shocked when he heard this. "Do you CIA agents always dress like this when you're on missions?"
I should have signed up to join the CIA back then.

Despite her discomfort, Mora said to Charles, "You must be Dr. Charles Xavier?"

"Yes, may I help you?"

"I have some questions about genetic mutations that I need to ask you. Do you know anything about mutants?"

When Sebastian threatened Colonel Hendry, Mora overheard him mentioning genetic mutations and mutants, suggesting that those people's special abilities originated from this.

Upon hearing this, Charles turned his gaze to Du Mu.

Seeing that Du Mu shrugged to indicate that he hadn't revealed it, Charles became curious and directly used his telepathy to read Mora's memories.

Soon, he saw from Mora's memories everything Mora had encountered at the Hellfire Club, including Sebastian and other mutants, and their threats against Colonel Hendry to agree to the deployment of ballistic missiles.

After reading Mora's memories, Charles's expression suddenly turned serious.

"Let's go inside and talk."

Once inside the house, Mora couldn't wait to ask Charles about mutants.

Charles did not shy away from the question, recounting his years of research on mutants and stating that mutants are real.

Raven had just woken up from a nap when she saw Charles chatting happily with a woman who wasn't wearing an outer garment, and she was completely stunned.

"Who is this woman?"

"If nothing unexpected happens, she should be your future sister-in-law."

Raven: "?"

So Charles likes this type of woman?
After chatting for a while, Mora put her coat back on.

It wasn't out of shyness; as an elite agent who was completely dedicated to her work, the word "shy" simply didn't exist in her vocabulary.

The main problem was that Charles's gaze kept unconsciously glancing downwards during the conversation, which really disrupted the flow of the conversation.

Charles was immediately embarrassed upon realizing Mora's thoughts.

But it can't be entirely his fault. After all, auto-aim is an innate passive skill that's hard to turn off at will.

Charles looked at Du Mu, trying to prove that he wasn't an isolated case, only to find that the other man had already put on a pair of sunglasses and was sitting motionless to the side, with no one able to see his eyes.

I never thought of that!

After some conversation, Mora formally invited Charles to CIA headquarters to explain the existence of mutants to her superiors in person, so that the CIA would take the matter seriously.

After a moment's thought, Charles accepted the invitation.

He had always hoped to gradually let society understand mutants, and this was a rare opportunity.

So Charles took Raven with him, and the group walked together to the door to get in their car.

Seeing Du Mu walk back to the driver's seat, Mora quickly stepped forward to stop him: "Wait, Du Mu, you've had a hard journey just now, let me drive this time."

It's no wonder Mora was so nervous; Du Mu's driving skills were simply too terrifying. He floored the accelerator and left the rest to fate!
Even more outrageous, this guy would even drive his car onto the sidewalk!

His reasoning was quite simple.

There are many cars on the road, but the sidewalks are wider!

Now Mora dares not hand the steering wheel to Du Mu again, no matter what.

Riding in his car is more thrilling than storming the Hellfire Club!

Without much thought, Du Mu handed the driver's seat to Mora and sat in the back seat with Charles.

After the vehicle started smoothly, Charles lowered his voice and said to Du Mu, "I checked Mora's memories. The Hellfire Club members are mutants just like us. Their leader is a man named Sebastian Shaw."

Du Mu nodded: "I know, their abilities are not simple, especially Sebastian's. His ability is to absorb all energy and release it, and his upper limit is at least at the level of absorbing a nuclear bomb."

"Absorb a nuclear bomb!?"

Charles was incredulous; this ability was simply too powerful!

He didn't ask Du Mu how he knew about the other person's abilities; perhaps it was one of Du Mu's 'magic' techniques.

Charles said with a grave expression, "From Mora's memories, I see that Sebastian was threatening senior NATO officials to push forward with the ballistic missile deployment plan, deliberately escalating tensions between the two countries. What exactly is he trying to do?"

He knew very well that although Sebastian and the others were mutants, they were definitely not the same kind of people as him.

This act of deliberately provoking a war between two countries is no different from that of terrorists.

Du Mu casually replied, "What else can they do? They either want to destroy the world or they want to rule the world. After all, that's all the hobbies that villains like this have."

Charles frowned upon hearing this.

In his view, either possibility would mean disastrous consequences.

Charles said earnestly, "What they are doing will only make the situation of mutants more difficult, and they will even become the target of hostility from all ordinary people. We must stop them."

NPC Charles Xavier has given you a new quest.

[Mission: The Black Emperor's Scheme]

[Objective: Sebastian Shaw is attempting to instigate a nuclear war between the two nations, triggering World War III, and using this opportunity to ascend the throne and rule the entire Earth. Please do everything in your power to stop his plot.] [Rewards: Experience +5000, Charles's Favorability +20, Random Equipment *1, Random Item *2, Anchor Point Fragment *5]

Du Mu was right.

Sebastian does indeed want to rule the world, even at the cost of starting the Third Ninja World War.

However, he was more concerned about Sebastian himself and the mutants around him.

After all, his Brotherhood still has ten vacant positions, waiting for mutants to take their place.

If he could defeat Sebastian and the others, he would have completed one-third of his main objective.

So how do we bring all these people into the Brotherhood?
The group drove to the CIA headquarters, and Mora quickly contacted her superior.

After her repeated insistence and assurances, her superiors finally agreed to gather several senior executives in the conference room to listen to Charles explain the situation of mutants, thus confirming what Mora had previously reported.

However, several high-ranking CIA officials completely disregarded Charles's words and scoffed at the idea that genetic mutations granted superpowers.

They don't believe in the existence of mutants at all, just like adults don't believe in the existence of Ultraman.

Left with no other option, Charles had to use his abilities to read the memories of several high-ranking officials and reveal things that only they knew, such as the United States' plans to deploy ballistic missiles in Türkiye.

Unexpectedly, this move only aroused greater suspicion.

The higher-ups immediately labeled Charles a spy, believing he had obtained secrets through illegal means, and ordered his immediate arrest.

At this crucial moment, Raven stepped forward and, in full view of everyone, transformed into the face of a high-ranking official present, before reverting to her original blue skin form.

After this series of actions, everyone present had no choice but to believe in the existence of mutants.

Of course, Ultraman still doesn't exist.

After a brief moment of shock, these high-ranking CIA personnel, for reasons unknown, upon learning that Charles and Raven were mutants, their first reaction was to order their arrest and imprisonment.

Charles felt utterly exhausted.

He finally understood what Du Mu meant; these people really didn't listen to anyone.

Instead of dealing with a clear threat like Sebastian, they arrested the person who kindly warned them first.

Do these people all have a lot of energy in their brains?

Wait, no, if their brains are full of excitement, then what would it be like to be someone who's spying on their brains?

Do you do butterfly stroke in a cesspool?
Fortunately, the CIA wasn't all idiots. One of the bespectacled, overweight officers stepped in to help the two men out of the predicament, saying that his department's base could monitor mutants, and that he was very interested in mutants and would be happy to assist Charles and his group.

Mora realized that she was surrounded by a bunch of idiots and decided to follow Charles.

She also revealed that she had discovered a lead about Sebastian, who was currently on a cruise ship at sea.

Given the high level of danger posed by the target, the bespectacled fat man decisively used his authority to coordinate the dispatch of a naval guard unit to assist in the operation.

On the other side, a head suddenly emerged from the sea, coldly staring at a cruise ship not far away, like a heartless killer.

Then a man in a diving suit silently surfaced, transformed into an assassin, and secretly climbed onto the cruise ship. He then pressed C to crouch and stealthily moved, while taking out a dagger hidden in his sleeve, preparing to sneak into the cruise ship and launch a perfect assassination.

As soon as he reached the deck at the stern, he saw Sebastian and two other mutants walking towards him.

The two looked at each other, and for a moment the atmosphere became somewhat awkward.

man:"."

What a coincidence! Are you here to admire the moon too?
The people present were stunned when they saw the man with his butt sticking out and acting suspiciously.

Upon recognizing the newcomer, Sebastian's face lit up with delight: "Little Eric Lansheer, it's been a long time."

"Sebastian Shaw!"

Seeing that his stealth had been broken, Eric simply stopped pretending. His eyes flashed with years of pent-up hatred, and the dagger in his hand shot out like a bullet toward Sebastian!

However, his thoughts had already been seen through by the White Queen beside Sebastian. Instantly, her entire body turned into diamond, easily blocking the incoming dagger. At the same time, she used telepathy to invade Eric's consciousness, forcibly awakening the most painful memories deep within his heart.

Eric clutched his head in pain, as if under a spell.

Despite the pain, he charged toward Sebastian, resolutely resorting to close-quarters combat as a mutant!
As a result, he was slapped into the sea by the White Queen.

Pfft!
After dealing with Eric, the assassin who came to cause trouble, the White Queen suddenly frowned, sensing a powerful mental force no less than her own approaching. She immediately focused her mind to shield herself.

Hello, the number you dialed is currently switched off!

Meanwhile, on a naval patrol ship in the distance, Charles pressed his fingers to his temples and exclaimed in surprise, "I can't sense their thoughts anymore; it's like something is blocking my abilities."

"That's the White Queen's ability; she's a telepath just like you."

With his exceptional eyesight, Du Mu immediately spotted the White Queen on the yacht's deck.

[NPC: Emma Frost]

Codename: White Queen

【Favourability: 0】

[Evaluation: A telepathic, a female bodhisattva who dislikes wearing clothes, capable of turning her entire body into diamonds]

Is this telepathic ability sold in bulk? It seems like everyone has one.

"We are the United States Coast Guard. Please stop immediately and remain where you are!"

The naval guards warned Sebastian's cruise ship via loudspeaker and dispatched several assault teams in speedboats to approach the ship.

However, Sebastian and his group ignored this.

Another mutant walked to the edge of the deck, conjuring two violent tornadoes in his hands, instantly overturning the teams and their boats into the sea.

Faced with powerful mutants, conventional armed forces of this size would be utterly ineffective.

The bespectacled fat man exclaimed in shock, "My God, is this the power of mutants?"

Du Mu nodded: "Yes, every mutant has different abilities, some strong and some weak."

"Detective Du Mu, I heard you're also a mutant. What are your abilities?"

"Magic, the kind of magic that cannot be explained by science."

As Du Mu spoke, an RPG rocket launcher appeared out of thin air in his hand, and he fired a missile directly at the cruise ship!
The chubby guy with glasses: "???"

Your magic looks pretty scientific!

A missile, trailing a fiery exhaust flame, hurtled straight towards the cruise ship.

Seeing this, Sebastian calmly stepped forward and met the incoming missile with one hand.

Boom! !
A deafening explosion sounded.

Strangely, before the energy and shockwave from the explosion could fully spread, they seemed to be drawn inward by some invisible force, eventually condensing into a stream of scorching energy in Sebastian's hand, which he then absorbed entirely.

This is Sebastian's ability: to absorb all energy and make it his own.

It really is a strange mechanism.

Upon witnessing this, Du Mu realized that ordinary attacks were completely ineffective against Sebastian.

But he didn't stop. Instead, he raised his RPG again and fired another missile at the cruise ship!
"It's no use, no matter how many times we do it, the result will be the same."

Sebastian gave a dismissive smile.

Having said that, he raised his hand to repeat his old trick and absorb the missile's energy as well.

But the next moment, the missile veered off course and landed on the bow of the cruise ship, exploding with a bang!

"."

Sebastian remained frozen in place, his hand raised in a defensive stance, creating an awkward atmosphere.
