The only player in the Marvel universe

Chapter 126 Impossible! Absolutely impossible!

Chapter 126 Impossible! Absolutely impossible!
In the distant starry sky, a colossal Kree warship hovers.

This is the Darkstar, the flagship of Ronan the Accuser of the Kree Empire.

In the dimly lit command hall, Ronan, dressed in the high-tech combat suit of the Kree Empire and holding a warhammer, sat in the central commander's seat.

Ronan is a purebred Kree with blue skin like most of his people. Dark skin like Korath's is a rare breed among the Kree, and it's unknown what race's genes he has mixed with.

On either side of him stood two figures.

On the left is Gamora in a healthy-looking outfit, and on the right is Nebula, whose entire body has been almost completely mechanically modified. They are both daughters of the Mad Titan Thanos, sent to assist Ronan in finding the Orb of the Universe, or rather, to monitor his actions.

In the oppressive silence, a soldier strode forward and knelt on one knee.

"My Lord Accuser, news has just come from Molag: the Pursuer and his squad have been completely wiped out."

Ronan's fingers tightened suddenly on the warhammer: "Where did the Orb of the Universe go?"

The soldier swallowed hard and replied, "It's gone. According to the last message from the Hunter ship, they seem to have discovered a Raider ship, which was very likely stolen by the Raiders."

"waste!"

Ronan abruptly stood up, slamming his warhammer heavily onto the ground with a tremendous echo.

He didn't care about Korath's life or death at all; what he cared about was that cosmic orb!

Frankly speaking, with his current strength, it's really unlikely that he can defeat Xandar head-on.

In the past, it would have been easier to deal with. He had several warships of the Dark Star's class under his command, but unfortunately, that damned square-faced woman used her ridiculously strong head-banging skills to smash them all to pieces!
That square-faced woman was terrifying beyond belief. At that time, Ronan only dared to whisper his threats and decisively ran away with his remaining fighting force. This was not an escape, but a strategic retreat!

For this reason, he had no choice but to make a deal with the mad Titan who swept across the universe: in return for offering up the Spirit Orb, the Titan would help him destroy Xandar.

But now, things have taken a turn for the worse. The duck that was about to be in their hands has been snatched away by a rogue interstellar squad that appeared out of nowhere!
"Who exactly are those looters!?"

Ronan suppressed the raging anger surging within him, his voice low and menacing.

The soldier reporting trembled: "No, I don't know. Our detection and tracking methods have failed. The other side seems to know our methods very well."

"What about the information on that raider ship?"

"We did find that, but according to intelligence, the Raider ship itself was also stolen. It seems to have been done by a team called the Raider Raiders. It is said that these people have stolen dozens of Raider squads, and now the entire Raider community is searching for these people."

"???"

What? The raiders were raided?
When Ronan heard this news, even his usually cold expression faltered for a moment.

The universe is so vast; indeed, if you live long enough, you can see everything.

But he quickly regained his composure and said angrily, "Whether they are raiders or whatever, we must find them!"

Upon seeing this, Nebula immediately stepped forward: "Please give me this task. I will find those thieves and bring them back along with the Orb of the Universe."

Just as Ronan was about to nod, Gamora took a step forward.

"Let me go. Nebula already messed up the last mission, and I'm afraid she can't withstand the blow of another failure."

"I will not fail this time!"

Nebula turned and glared at Gamora, her mechanical eyes practically spitting fire.

Clearly, the two sisters did not get along well.

Gamora was deeply loved by Thanos, treated almost like his own daughter. However, Gamora, who was also Thanos's daughter, received worse treatment than even Thanos's Black Order, and was frequently subjected to domestic violence.

If this plot were in a female-oriented novel, it would be a classic template for a beautiful, strong, and tragic female protagonist.

Well, let's put aside beauty and strength for now, but the tragedy is truly tragic!
"You said the same thing last time, and you ended up losing your left hand and having to replace it with a mechanical prosthesis. How many original parts do you still have left to replace?"

"This is none of your business, and it's none of your concern!"

"I'm just worried that if you die, I won't be able to find a human punching bag to practice on later."

"You? If you're so capable, come and fight me right now!"

"Come on, come on!"

"enough!"

Ronan shouted, interrupting the two sisters' bickering, his face showing annoyance.

Ever since Thanos sent these two sisters here, they've been fighting at least a dozen times a day and have come to blows several times. He now seriously suspects that Thanos sent these two sisters to him just so he could have some peace and quiet!
"The Orb of the Universe is of utmost importance, so Gamora will be in charge of tracking down its whereabouts and bringing it back!"

Despite inexplicably provoking a powerful interstellar force, Du Mu and Quill remained completely unfazed.

Du Mu's personality dictates that, aside from mission failures, there is nothing in this world that should cause him panic.

Quill was initially quite panicked, but then he realized there was no point in panicking. Besides, he was penniless, and the Cosmic Orb would fetch a large sum of Cosmic Currency. With that thought, he instantly calmed down.

He was more concerned with practical issues than with distant threats.

Quill leaned closer to Du Mu, rubbing his hands together slyly: "Fellow villager, how are we going to split the reward after we hand over the Cosmic Orb to the middleman?"

"Fifty-five."

Du Mu said it casually.

After all, he had plundered so many raider teams before, and now he was rich in resources and didn't care about this little bit of money.

Quill's face lit up with joy: "That's great! Let's agree on this first, who's number five?"

Du Mu: "."

This guy seems to be getting sillier and sillier.

Just then, Quill's communicator rang; it was his adoptive father, Yondu, calling.

He hung up without even thinking.

As a rebellious child who ran away from home, he refused to communicate with his adoptive father.

Of course, the main concern was that Yondu would find out what I did in Vanaheim and I'd get a scolding from him.

Du Mu casually opened the interstellar bounty list and immediately laughed: "Quill, your bounty has increased to 40,000 cosmic coins. The bounty hunter is still Yondu. How about this, I'll kidnap you and send you there to collect the bounty, and then we'll figure out a way to get you out later. We'll split the bounty, how about that?"

Quill's eyes lit up: "You can play it like that?"

He felt absolutely no guilt about swindling money from Yondu!

The two chatted as they made their way to their next destination.

This time, they were heading to Xandar, the very planet Ronan had been plotting to destroy.

Xandar is the capital of the Nova Empire. As a long-established interstellar power capable of rivaling the Kree Empire, the Nova Empire's strength should not be underestimated.

Its Nova Corps is renowned, essentially acting as an interstellar police force. It is said that once the Nova Corps is assembled, its strength will be immense.

Du Mu was quite familiar with these words.

The Green Lantern Corps from DC Comics said the same thing, but they were wiped out every time they appeared. After more than a dozen space jumps, their ship finally arrived at Xandar.

Looking out the porthole, the entire planet was shrouded in a faint golden energy field, and the surface was covered with all sorts of strange buildings, with countless spacecraft shuttling along orderly flight paths.

"That's the good thing about the Nova Empire. It's open to everyone. As long as you're not a Kree, they welcome even raiders, provided you follow their rules."

Quill skillfully entered the entry application.

Although the Nova Corps' security system is strict, it processes tens of thousands of entry applications every day and usually doesn't scrutinize visitors who are not carrying weapons of mass destruction.

The spaceship slowly passed through the golden energy field, stirring up ripples.

As the altitude decreases, you can clearly see all sorts of aliens walking on the street—red, blue, green, yellow, pink—a color palette even richer than the rainbow.

Quill docked the spaceship at the Nova Empire's designated third spaceport berth, and he and Du Mu walked down the gangway one after the other.

"Hey buddy, remember not to make any moves, or we'll get captured by those Nova Corps." Quill warned.

Du Mu waved his hand: "Don't worry, I've always been a law-abiding citizen and never do anything illegal or disorderly."

Quill: (¬_¬)
How can you say that we have everything we've acquired through illegal and disorderly means?

Led by Quill, who knew the way well, the two turned into an inconspicuous alley and found a strange, hemispherical shop.

The metal door slid open silently, revealing a broker inside fiddling with a holographic screen.

Quill strode forward casually: "Brother, we've brought the Orb of the Universe."

The broker glanced at Du Mu and asked in surprise, "Who is he? Where is Yondu?"

Quill immediately replied, "This is our newest member. As for Yondu, he has other matters to attend to, so I've come in his place."

Fortunately, the broker only frowned and didn't ask any further questions.

Those in his line of work only need to be responsible for handing over tasks; knowing too much will shorten their lifespan.

Du Mu took out the Cosmic Spirit Orb and handed it over. The system's voice sounded the instant the handover was completed.

[Mission 'Cosmic Orb' completed]

[Rewards: 2000 experience points, 'Triple-barreled Hand Cannon' equipment, 'Graduation Guarantee Pill' item]

[Equipment: Triple Hand Cannon (a triple grenade launcher located in the hand; the anti-tank grenades fired from it will have an attraction effect when they hit a vehicle)]

[Item: Graduate School Admission Pill (can promote you to graduate school)]

The hand cannon looks pretty useful, but what the heck is this "graduate school recommendation pill"?

Du Mu's lips twitched slightly, and he decided to throw this thing, along with the large bandage from before, into his storage space to gather dust.

While he was checking the reward, Quill was bragging to the broker that he had inadvertently revealed Ronan's affair.

They themselves are not afraid of Ronan, but that doesn't mean others aren't.

Upon hearing the name Ronan, the broker turned pale with fright, his hands trembling as if he had Parkinson's disease, and he shoved the newly acquired cosmic orb back into Du Mu's arms.

"I can't do this business. You'd better take your things and get out of here!"

"Hey, how can you go back on your word after a deal has been made?" Quill said, disgruntled.

The broker was adamant: "I had no idea you'd messed with that madman Ronan. I don't want to provoke that Kree. You'd better get out of here!"

"You mean, if you can't afford to mess with Ronan, you can mess with us, right?"

Du Mu narrowed his eyes, decisively pulled out the Golden Desert Eagle, and aimed it at the broker's head.

The broker swallowed hard.

Who is this ruthless person? He actually pulled out a gun at the drop of a hat.

Faced with the logic in Du Mu's hands, the broker's voice weakened by three points: "If Ronan finds out, he will kill me."

Du Mu smiled kindly: "No need to wait for Ronan, I can take you down right now."

The broker was on the verge of tears; he was doomed either way!
Quill stepped in to smooth things over: "We're not unreasonable people, but you can't just let us come all this way for nothing, can you? We risked our lives to get our hands on this cosmic orb."

It was indeed a life-threatening situation; Quill nearly ate himself to death while grilling meat on Morag that day.

The broker, staring at the gun still pressed against his forehead, gritted his teeth and said, "I can offer you 100,000 cosmic coins as a personal compensation."

Du Mu was displeased: "You promised a reward of over a million, and now you think you can just fob us off with 100,000? Are you treating us like beggars?"

As he spoke, he gestured with his finger as if to pull the trigger.

The broker's legs went weak, and he almost knelt down: "Four hundred thousand! That's really all I can offer! I simply can't come up with any more!"

"Okay, remember to take cash."

Seeing that the broker was on the verge of collapse, Du Mu did not make things difficult for him any further.

The broker felt like he'd been granted a pardon. He scrambled to the safe, his hands trembling so much he almost entered the wrong password. He emptied out all the cash inside, hoping to get rid of these two plagues as soon as possible.

Quill scratched his head.

What happened when the law-breaking act turned into robbery?

After receiving the cash, Du Mu casually put the Cosmic Orb back in his pocket and left the shop with Quill. They found a secluded spot to divide the loot.

After distributing the money, Quill rubbed his hands together, a little embarrassed, and said, "Um, fellow countryman, now that this mission is over, shouldn't the magic you cast on me be lifted?"

"That was a lie. I didn't actually cast any magic on you," Du Mu said with a chuckle.

Quill shook his head and said decisively, "Don't lie to me. You must have cast a spell on me. I checked again when I came over, and the spell's effect is still there."

"Uh"

Du Mu's expression was strange: "Is it possible that it's simply a problem with your own body?"

"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"

Quill laughed and waved his hand in denial.

Reality was too cruel, and he instinctively denied it.

He firmly believed that Du Mu had cast a spell on him and urged Du Mu to remove the spell quickly.

But Du Mu couldn't help him at all; the blue pill had already been given to another Peter, so there was really nothing he could do.

Du Mu ignored the idiot and turned to open the map, activating the map of Xandar.

Just then, a green figure suddenly appeared in front of him.

"She-Hulk?"
