"Sir, you are back."

Shi Qifeng smiled broadly and strode forward to greet him.

Chen Jin nodded: "Now that we've finished worshipping the gods and ancestors, it's time to get down to business."

Shi Qifeng's expression hardened, and he moved his lips, but ultimately remained silent.

He initially wanted to advise Chen Jin to reconsider, but then he thought again that the other party's background was mysterious and unpredictable, and he was very likely a person of the immortal path. Such a person had his own principles in life and work, and how could outsiders interfere?
Offering advice at this juncture would be a poor move, and might even go against Chen Jin's wishes, causing him to be disliked, which would be a loss.

So he said, "The sword case is ready. Please take a look and see if it suits your taste."

Chen Jin then came to look and saw a long, flat wooden box with a simple and square shape, with only some landscape patterns engraved on it.

There was a simple mechanism on top; with a gentle press, the lid opened, revealing the dark, serene Xuan Tie heavy sword lying perfectly within. He immediately exclaimed in praise:
"Not bad, I'm very satisfied."

Upon hearing this, Shi Qifeng breathed a sigh of relief.

People in the martial arts world mostly use "sheaths" for their swords and rarely use "boxes," as they are large, bulky, and inconvenient to carry.

Only legendary sword immortals use sword cases, and those cases themselves belong to the category of magical artifacts, specially crafted and imbued with various restrictive techniques. With a mere thought, the sword within can fly out and take a person's head from a thousand miles away…

That was truly an extremely miraculous feat.

As a seasoned veteran, Shi Qifeng was only hearing about it secondhand.

At this moment, he couldn't help but wonder if Chen Jin was going to forge the sword and its case together. He was really looking forward to it.

However, he misunderstood. Chen Jin did not have that ability at the moment. The purpose of making the sword box was very simple: to store the Xuan Tie Heavy Sword.

The sheath of this sword is quite heavy and eye-catching. It would be difficult to support it with an ordinary scabbard, so it would be better to put it directly into a box, like a long box.

After all, this sword is not currently used for actual combat, but for sword practice.

Practicing swordsmanship requires a good place, and in the city, the Green Mountain Martial Arts School is undoubtedly a perfect place to settle down. The environment here is quiet and secluded, with basically no other people to disturb you except for Shi Qifeng, so you can cultivate in peace.

Before dinner, Chen Jin took out his heavy sword and began practicing.

Every move and stance is executed with meticulous care.

Although it still appears clumsy and laborious, the moves are fluid and possess a natural momentum.

Shi Qifeng consciously hid inside and did not come to spy.

According to the rules of the martial arts world, secretly learning martial arts skills is a major taboo, and these things cannot be looked at casually.

Even if Chen Jin didn't say it, he should have his own awareness.

Wang Fu did not appear until dinner time. This was not surprising; the other party probably did not know that Chen Jin had entered the city.

Chen Jin didn't want to bother him anymore.

In this case, they would have to take care of their own meals.

The martial arts school has a kitchen, cooking utensils, and rice, but no vegetables. However, we brought plenty of food with us when we entered the city, which should be enough for one or two meals.

After finishing his meal, Shi Qifeng suddenly spoke up, "Sir, is there anything I can help you with?"

Chen Jin looked at him: "Are you sure?"

Shi Qifeng said proudly, "I, Shi, am all alone, with no ties or attachments. I am just a crippled body waiting to die, so what do I have to worry about?"

Chen Jin's eyes flashed: "If possible, I would like to ask you to help me find out some things."

"Just tell me what you want."

Shi Qifeng hurriedly said, "Although I have retired from the martial arts world and my martial arts school business is in ruins, I still know some people."

"it is good……"

Chen Jin immediately spoke in a low voice.

After listening, Shi Qifeng said in a deep voice, "I will be right back."

He strode away from the martial arts gym.

As he watched her retreating figure, a strange thought suddenly arose in Chen Jin's mind: a wisp of suspicion, wondering if the other party would betray him and tell on him.

However, this suspicion was quickly suppressed. Firstly, he believed he couldn't have misjudged the person;

Secondly, it's just asking the other party to find out their whereabouts; even if they leak information, it won't leave any evidence against them.

Time passed slowly, and as night fell and the moon rose high in the sky, Shi Qifeng returned under the moonlight: "I have successfully completed my mission and have obtained the information."

Explain the results carefully.

After listening, Chen Jin raised an eyebrow: "He's certainly impatient."

Shi Qifeng laughed and said, "A new official taking office and being promoted is naturally worried that things might go wrong if things drag on."

"Well, please."

"Sir, there's no need to be so polite. Besides, this matter isn't a secret. That fellow held a grand banquet and invited many people to see him off. He received gifts and gained prestige at the same time."

After saying this, Shi Qifeng returned to his room.

In the side room, Chen Jin began to pace back and forth.

When I think about what I have to do and the various chain reactions that may be triggered, I can't help but feel emotionally turbulent and find it hard to calm down.

It is said that one should remain calm in the face of great events, but it is not easy to truly achieve this.

He then lit the Kui Xing Kicks the Dipper Lamp, spread out his writing implements under the lamp, and picked up his brush to write.

The character written is "静" (quiet).

I wrote three in a row.

The restlessness in his heart, like drops of water, was expressed through ink and brush, pouring out and spreading into the strokes of the characters.

And so, my heart gradually calmed down.

In the realm of spiritual practice, this behavior can be categorized as "visualization and response," a fundamental practice, and belongs to the external form.

When Chen Jin looked at the character "静" (quiet) he had written, he felt the meaning behind its structure and obtained the information he needed, thus achieving a certain satisfaction.

That's the result he wanted.

This is also the problem of those with shallow cultivation. If one has profound cultivation, one can eliminate these wild thoughts with just a thought, without having to write anything down.

After calming down, Chen Jin first read a book, and when it was almost time, he began to practice his internal energy cultivation.

I had something on my mind tonight, but after resolving it, I went from having something on my mind to having nothing on my mind. This process represents a realization.

The feedback and enlightenment bring clarity to the mind. The soft "snap" sound originates from within the internal organs, like unbuttoning a button or breaking through a knot or difficulty.

In an instant, the mind felt light, the will focused, and a new strength surged through the limbs and bones, like a spring breaking through the soil, instantly nourishing the internal organs.

Chen Jin was overjoyed and couldn't help but laugh.

Finally broke through!
Advancement from the first realm to the second realm: mid-stage of Refining Essence.

Since learning the Dharma, I have been diligently practicing every day without slacking off. Now, my hard work has paid off, and I have finally reaped some rewards.

Overjoyed, my heart was filled with excitement.

It should be understood that joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness, the seven emotions and six desires—any emotion, if taken to excess, will affect one's temperament and state of mind.

He exhaled, shook his head, and picked up his brush again to dip it in ink:
I have to write the character "静" again...

……

The next day, it was dark.

Chen Jin then got up, finished washing up, and reached for the sword case.

This grasp immediately revealed the difference and change; it felt much lighter.

As soon as he stepped outside, he saw Shi Qifeng already waiting there. Today, he was dressed in a gray robe, his short beard neatly trimmed, and he was standing beside a carriage.

Chen Jin glanced at him and said, "Master Shi, you don't really need to do this."

Shi Qifeng straightened his back and said loudly, "I am crippled and old, and I don't have many opportunities left. So please grant me your request, sir, get in the carriage. I, Shi, am willing to be your driver and serve you."
