F1: Absolute Car Feel

Chapter 97 Three-Game Winning Streak

Chapter 97 Three-Game Winning Streak (Second Update)

When Ai Lan heard Wu Shi's reply, she frowned. The championship was indeed important, but if it came with the condition of having a certain probability of withdrawing from the race, then it would be better to stay on the track and score points.

However, out of respect for the drivers who had won two consecutive victories, he still took a look at the data.

The engine is currently overheating, and the fuel line is flowing too fast, resulting in incomplete fuel combustion. Over time, this will lead to carbon buildup, causing a loss of horsepower, and even cylinder scoring.

Wu Shi (TR): "Don't look at the test data for the engine and fuel lines, look at the intake, exhaust, and horsepower."

Upon hearing this TR, Alan had no choice but to check again. Then, something strange happened. Logically, problems with the engine data should affect these aspects, but the data monitoring in these areas was all normal!
Alan TR: "Maintain engine power, and do three more laps."

If you can't find the problem, then just keep running.

The crew members then began to retrieve and analyze data from various monitoring devices on the race car, as the current situation was indeed very strange.

Three minutes later, the data analyst told Alan, "I suspect the monitors for the engine and fuel lines might be faulty."

Alan rested one hand on the table and the other on his chin. After a few seconds, he shook his head and said, "How did he determine that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle?"

"A feeling?" someone asked, half-believing.

"I don't know, but as long as the vehicle is working properly and he's maintaining his lead, that's enough," Alan nodded.

Wu Shi's lead was always smooth and flawless. In the next three laps, he steadily widened the gap with the second-place runner and maintained a steady cruising speed after entering the more than one-second mark.

The competition in the rear pack was particularly fierce, especially for Verstappen, who was already furious and extremely aggressive, constantly battling for position.

The commentator's attention was also focused on him.

"Wow! Max is following very closely. I feel like his driving style is particularly aggressive this round. He's sticking to Bromquist and trying to overtake him!"

"He's closing in so close, is he trying to cut inside on the straight? Bromqvist has no defense!"
"Oh! Not enough distance. It was a feint. It seems Bromquist wasn't fooled."

"But Max didn't give up! He went back to the perimeter, closely guarding Brom, and then he cut inside again. Brom still wasn't guarding him! Max cut in, and they were side-by-side in the corner!"

Verstappen relied on his superior handling in the corners to keep the car in place and put pressure on Bromqvist. This wheel-to-wheel passion often lasted less than a second, and the drivers, in addition to their pre-planned actions, relied more on instinct to make their decisions.

Suddenly, Verstappen seized the initiative to exit the corner, quickly changing lanes before entering the next bend and gaining the upper hand.

"Max has successfully overtaken Brom! A brilliant overtake!"

"We see that he has now moved up to fourth place, just 0.4 seconds behind Ocon, and in the second period, Verstappen is faster than Ocon. With ten laps left in the race, he is still closing the gap!"

Over the next two laps, Verstappen continued to accelerate, overtaking Ocon by more than 0.1 seconds in both the second and third sectors. With only eight laps left in the race, he kept close behind Ocon and launched an attack at Turn 30.

The two race cars crisscrossed the next few corners, as if they were dancing together.

As he entered the final corner, Verstappen had already put the front wheel inside, forcefully squeezing Ocon.

Aokang didn't give an inch, but instead squeezed through.

The front and rear wheels of the two cars collided instantly, and as white smoke billowed out, Verstappen quickly pulled his car away to avoid a mutual destruction.

On the subsequent straight, he tried again, and Ocon made a dragon-like motion, so he followed suit. When entering Turn 15, he was still blocked behind.

But Ocon seemed to be in worse shape than before. As he approached the 15th turn, he was defending in the middle, while Verstappen made a strong run from the outside.

The two players made different decisions when entering the corner, resulting in a difference in the time they exchanged positions. This allowed Verstappen to take the lead immediately upon exiting the corner. With this position, he quickly forced Ocon to the left sideline, which further slowed down Ocon.

Susu!

Finally, Verstappen completed the overtake and moved up to third place on the field.

There were five laps left to finish the race.

He was now a full four seconds behind Foucault, a gap that was impossible to close. Foucault was also a full two seconds behind Wu Shi, a gap that was also impossible to overcome.

As a result, a strange scene unfolded on the track: the gaps between the first three cars were large enough to fit two or three other cars, while the mid-range cars behind them were tightly packed together, with frequent and intense battles.

The last line of cars was also sparse and stretched out for a long time.

Sean, who was in last place, had been lapped. His car's front wing was loose, and he was barely keeping on the track, so he was slower than everyone else.

As for Goddard, who was second to last, Wu Shi could already see the rear of his car.

With the race entering its final three laps, apart from the five cars in the middle of the pack finishing in a close formation, the remaining positions had settled down.

Five minutes later, Wu Shi turned the 18th bend and saw the checkered flag and the finish line.

Susu!

He charged forward and won the third game!
"Wow! Wu has won the championship again, achieving a three-game winning streak at Silverstone! It's unbelievable that he, as the youngest driver in the field, has accomplished this!"

The race lasted a total of 34 minutes, 10 seconds, and 233 seconds. On the final lap, Wu Shi breathed a sigh of relief, slowed down, and drove into the pit lane.

The vehicles behind him followed in an orderly fashion, and many members of the convoy were already packing their luggage.

After parking the car, Wu Shi got off the race car, turned around and saw Louise next to him. He lifted his goggles and went up to hug her.

"Congratulations! Three-time champion!" Louise said happily.

"Well, you kept your word, didn't you?" Wu Shi replied.

“Yes!” Louise nodded emphatically.

Wu Shi then shook hands with the crew members.

I took off my helmet and put on the baseball cap that Alan handed me. The front of the cap had the Hankook logo, while the side had the 1st logo.

"Get ready, let's go to the podium." Alan patted him on the shoulder.

“I made it up for the third time, hahaha,” Wu Shi said happily.

“That’s right, there are at least eighteen more rounds to go!” Alan exclaimed excitedly.

As Wu Shi walked up to the second-floor podium, he looked at the cheering crowd below and smiled broadly.

Then Foucault came up to him, extended his hand, and the two high-fived.

"You're amazing, whether you're here or in Florida!" Foucault exclaimed.

"Haha, you flatter me. You're very strong too. We together overpowered a bunch of seniors," Wu Shi laughed.

Pan Zi finished third in the race. As he walked up, he adjusted his hat, his smile barely concealed.

He looked at Wu Shi, who was already standing on the stage, and said, "Look, I did it!"

"Of course, I heard from Alan that your overtaking maneuvers were quite spectacular!"

After the three winners took to the podium, applause erupted from the audience.

The race organizers then announced the next step.

As he finished speaking, the march began to play, and Wu Shi took off his baseball cap, followed by the other two.

Three national flags slowly rose behind him, with the red flag in the center and two tricolor flags on either side.
