Invasion Myth: Starting with the Schoolteacher

Chapter 769: Unworthy of the Name

Chapter 769: Unworthy of the Name
A melodious opera tune echoed throughout the Dharma realm.

"He did countless good deeds during his lifetime~~~"

The Yin-Yang Dharma King's drawn-out, hoarse, and eerie singing echoed throughout the five-hundred-mile-long city. The bricks and stones on the city walls rose and fell with the melody, spontaneously arranging themselves into the patterns carved on the stage.

"After his death, nothing remained of him—"

With a flick of his non-existent python robe and flowing sleeves, blood-red silk ribbons instantly cascaded down from the eaves of the entire city. The demons and monsters, who had been beaten to a pulp, knelt on the ground, bowing and scraping.

"The three souls have vanished, their whereabouts unknown..."

The Dharma King turned around in rapture, and the entire main street suddenly transformed into a stage covered with a red carpet. The city, which had been reduced to ruins, was reborn.

"Where do the seven souls originate?!"

The last line of the play abruptly ended, and the Dharma King looked at his masterpiece with satisfaction.

He seems to have the vibe of a twisted villain, and there's even a feeling of dancing on a grave.

It's clear that he relaxed considerably after killing Xu Xuan, this strange and powerful expert who had surpassed his cultivation level.

I always felt there was something off about this guy.

It inflicted excessive damage outside the Dharma Realm, and within the Dharma Realm, it acted with utter chaos and lawlessness.

Now that his own supernatural power has completely dissipated his soul, he should be the victor in this battle.

In the distance was the Justice Squad, which had lost Master Xu; the atmosphere had become terrifyingly somber.

The Qing Hall Master's eyes lost all expression; he lowered his head, seemingly lost in thought, appearing like a wooden sculpture except for the white light and demonic aura emanating from his body.

Qilicha was also somewhat at a loss. If what the Yin-Yang Dharma King said was true, this place had become a dead end, what should he do?

Please don't go too far!

"Boom——!!!"

The entire Yin-Yang Dharma Realm trembled violently, and the edges of the five-hundred-mile-long giant city began to blur, like a pencil drawing that had been erased.

The city walls, with their blue bricks and black tiles, twist between reality and illusion, and those grim, bony buildings are gradually taking on the colors of the living world.

Qilicha's bone claws dug deep into the ground: "What's that old devil up to now?!"

The figure of the Yin-Yang Dharma King appeared and disappeared on the city wall, his voice filled with a confident composure: "No need to worry, just let the Dharma Realm leave the Underworld..." It paused deliberately, enjoying the sudden change in everyone's expression, "and head to the Yang Realm."

This completely cuts off everyone's escape route!
What a cautious overlord!

The real reason is that the clone outside the city and Ruoxu have reached a fever pitch in their battle.

To be precise, he realized he was starting to feel the strain; this thief monk was three times stronger than the last time they met.

Even without using spatial jumps, the fight only gets stronger, as if it's completely unaffected.

"boom--!"

A dazzling golden light cleaved down like a giant axe, forcefully splitting the chaotic space where black and white intertwined. Wherever Ruoxu's fist passed, the yin and yang energies melted and disintegrated instantly, like snow meeting boiling water.

The Yin-Yang Dharma King's clone retreated in a sorry state, his black python robe already burned with seven or eight holes by the Buddhist flames. His handsome, jade-like face was now slightly distorted.

"Ruoxu, are you truly unwilling to leave, monk?!"

"We have no grudges from the past or any enmity from the present, but do you still remember that punch you threw at my Dharma Realm back then?"

"Do you still feel even a trace of guilt?"

Ruoxu remained silent. His response was an even more violent "Vajra Subduing Demon Fist." Before the fist imprint even arrived, the terrifying gale had already pressed the ground within a hundred-foot radius down three feet. The realm of life and death had not yet fully converged before it was crushed into dust by the fist's intent.

What I was thinking was: Now that my junior brother has entered the Dharma Realm, this demon's fate is sealed. Why say more?

Enraged, the Dharma King had no choice but to fight back with all his might.

"Do you really think I'm afraid of you?"

"Watch this move!"

The crown atop the Yin-Yang Dharma King's head shattered, and ninety-nine mysterious pearls shot out like meteors. His hands formed hand seals so fast they left afterimages; with each seal, a twisted swastika appeared in the void—but these seals were all upside down and swirling, emanating a chilling aura of death.

The great teachings of the Three Realms are nothing more than Buddhism and Taoism, so the higher you go, the more you can see the figures of the pioneers lying across the sky, illuminating eternity.

The most suitable path was left by great figures such as the Taoist Ancestor, the Buddha Ancestor, the Celestial Venerable, and the Heavenly Emperor.

Taoism is generally aloof and values spiritual affinity and lineage. People like the Yin-Yang Dharma King are not allowed to enter the sect, and even getting too close will be treated as a mountain spirit or monster and killed at will.

Buddhism, on the other hand, has opened the door to expediency, and the transmission of Dharma is commonplace. Many bodhisattvas also performed this act when they walked in the underworld, so much of its supernatural power is a modified version of Buddhist enlightenment.

This palm technique, which is said to bring suffering, comes from the teachings of the Bodhisattva Sunlight.

In the Great Compassion Dharani Sutra, the Bodhisattva Sunlight recites the Great Mantra to those who uphold the Great Compassion Mantra, emphasizing that upholding the mantra will result in "being reborn in every future life with a beautiful and pleasing appearance."

The Yin-Yang Dharma King had average comprehension but a special nature, and over the years he had come to understand some of the principles of reversal.

The eerie curves that appeared in the palm of his hand resembled an inverted red lotus of karmic fire, but upon closer inspection, they were actually formed by countless struggling souls connected end to end.

This palm strike, seemingly a Buddhist act of compassion, completely reverses the principle of salvation in the Great Compassion Mantra—not only will the chanter not receive the reward of "a handsome and pleasing appearance," but will instead be forever condemned to suffering!

The pain of birth: the fetus is squeezed in the mother's body, experiences severe pain at birth, and feels uncomfortable after leaving the warm environment.

The suffering of old age: declining physical functions, changes in appearance, increased illnesses, and difficulty in movement.

Suffering from illness: physical or mental afflictions such as pain, weakness, and anxiety.

The suffering of death: physical pain at the time of death, fear of death, and regret for unfinished things.

The suffering of separation from loved ones: separation from relatives, friends, or lovers due to death, distance, or conflict.

The suffering of being with those you hate: This refers to the pain of being in a relationship with people you dislike, such as rivals at work or conflicts within the family.

The suffering of unfulfilled desires: the inability to satisfy desires, such as the unsuccessful pursuit of wealth, status, or love.

The suffering of the five aggregates in their intense activity: excessive activity of form, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness leads to mental afflictions.

The Yin-Yang Dharma King's "Eight Sufferings Reversed Buddha Palm" is indeed terrifying—wherever the palm wind passes, the eight sufferings of birth, old age, sickness, death, separation from loved ones, encountering those one hates, not getting what one wants, and the burning of the five aggregates manifest and take shape, transforming into eight distorted ghost faces that wrap around the edge of the palm.

This is the ultimate evil power it has extracted from countless tragedies over hundreds of years of lurking among humanity, and today it has finally revealed its sharp edge!
To everyone's surprise, Ruoxu, upon seeing this, not only did not avoid it, but instead showed some disdain.

When the fight actually started, they discovered that the opponent, the Yin-Yang Dharma King, was a man of great renown, with an impressive entourage, and the concept behind the "Gap Between Life and Death" was quite profound.

He has too many fancy moves, but his actual strength is not as good as the Black Mountain Demon before he went abroad to study, or rather, he is much worse.

Moreover, it seems they haven't had much serious fighting experience; their moves haven't been honed to perfection yet they dare to show them off and embarrass themselves.

It is important to know that practicing Buddhism in reverse requires a higher level of talent and a more formidable amount of luck than practicing it in the correct way.

A monster without talent can be used with slight modifications, but to turn things upside down completely is... incredibly stupid.
