Chapter 751 All Familiar Ghosts
A flash of golden light appeared, and Xu Xuan fell from nothingness.

Without panic or confusion, he even adjusted his posture in mid-air to make his landing more graceful.

After all, what storms hasn't Old Xu weathered?

Just as it was about to hit the ground, its body suddenly came to a stop.

"Ok?"

Xu Xuan tried to summon his magical artifact, but there was no response. He also tried to activate his supernatural powers, but to no avail. Only the ability to "fly" remained, as if this world only allowed this one kind of magic.

The rules have been changed?

He hovered in mid-air, surveying this bizarre world.

The sky was devoid of sun and moon, only a perpetual dark red mist shrouded the land; the earth was barren of vegetation, with only cracked, scorched earth stretching to the horizon; the blood river meandered like a rotting giant python, its surface gleaming with a sickly bluish light.

Iron thorns grow in abundance, and fragments of wandering spirits are strung on the dark thorns, emitting a mournful sound like the crying of an infant when the wind blows...

"It's still Jambudvipa..."

Xu Xuan smelled the familiar frenzy in the air.

Those fragments of souls hanging on the thorns still repeat their obsessions from life: a scholar mutters his unfinished poems; a general repeats his orders to charge; and most piercingly, a woman's voice screams, "Give me back my child!"

The obsession remains unchanged; truly, this is a land of silt.

Of course, there are also differences.

Unlike the current dilapidated state of Jambudvipa, the land here is dotted with golden temples, their Buddhist light shining brightly and their chanting solemn.

There are temples dedicated to the Bodhisattva of Sunlight, the Bodhisattva of Moonlight, Samantabhadra, Manjushri, and various other Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Arhats, and so on.
Buddhist teachings are spreading rapidly into the underworld, attempting to convert the evil spirits and demons of this state and resolve their obsessions.

Countless spirits knelt before the temple, bowing devoutly, repenting for their sins in life, and longing to be liberated and reborn in the Western Pure Land.

What a magnificent scene of "Buddhist teachings spreading salvation"!

Xu Xuan...

This authentic Buddhist Zen master was not happy to see this scene; instead, his brows furrowed even more.

Reaching the Western Paradise is also a vision with no end in sight.

Even highly accomplished monks who have mastered Buddhism need to go through numerous hardships, yet a group of obsessed ghosts can enter through a mysterious Buddhist gate?
The Buddha is an enlightened being, not a deity. He attained enlightenment through his own realization of the truth, eradicating afflictions and ignorance.

Buddhism teaches sentient beings to liberate themselves through their own nature, to cut off afflictions with wisdom, and to transform attachments with compassion.

This is the kind of Buddha Xu Xuan acknowledges. As for his boundless power and immeasurable supernatural abilities, they are only to inspire awe, not to inspire faith.

But these temples in front of us...

Using "deliverance" as bait, they lure wandering spirits to offer their faith;

By promising "rebirth," they entice the ghosts to become addicted to an illusory Pure Land.
They even turned the Buddha's light into shackles, causing those who knelt to be forever trapped in "repentance"!
This isn't salvation, it's harvesting!

A cold glint flashed in Xu Xuan's eyes as he muttered to himself:

"It is called the 'Pursuing Blessings' teaching, a convenient method. Although it has many aspects, the merit must come from one's own intention. Should one expect to receive a reward from those who help?"

"If I were a demon, I would destroy mountains and temples, and sever this path."

After saying it casually, I felt a sudden tightness in my chest and immediately looked up at the sky to see if any unusual phenomena were about to occur.

This reaction was so practiced it was heartbreaking.

It took me a while to realize that this wasn't the real world, so... everything should be alright. So I immediately flew forward, heading towards the place where the Buddha's light was most dazzling.

He wanted to see what else he could come up with.

Before even reaching the core, Xu Xuan abruptly stopped.

On the earth, thousands of ghost kings prostrated themselves in worship!
The giant toad demon king's bluish-gray skin oozed a foul-smelling slime, and each drop that fell to the ground corroded a deep pit emitting black smoke;
The withered cedar demon king's body was studded with hundreds of rotating eyeballs, each one blinking wildly;
The Shadow Devouring Ghost King was a blurry black shadow, from which came the grinding sound of thousands of teeth, sending chills down one's spine...

These fierce-looking creatures all had solemn expressions, yet they also subtly revealed excitement, as if they were anticipating something.

Xu Xuan was curious: these were all figures who had dominated their respective regions in an era without immortals or gods, so what were they doing in Jambudvipa?

As you pass over these people, you can see that the more exquisite their clothing, the higher their status.

The outer perimeter consisted of low-ranking ghost kings with distorted appearances and scars from battle.
The middle-level Ghost King has taken on human form, with gorgeous clothes, and even has a ghost sedan chair and a ghost horse for transportation;
The innermost circle consisted entirely of underworld princes adorned in imperial crowns, their aura as deep and unfathomable as an abyss.

Flying along, we encountered nothing but ghost mountains and ghost seas.

A quick glance revealed that Qilicha and Qilishi were also among the ghosts, though at this moment they were still King Qilicha and King Qilishi.

The two guardians of their own faction were no longer the domineering figures they had when they first appeared; they knelt there silently.

Standing before them was a ferocious demon with three heads and six arms, his body bound in chains—the Great Anata King!

The three-eyed, four-eyed, and five-eyed demons who had just been killed also followed behind the Great Ghost King with their heads bowed and eyes lowered.

Huh... Montenegro?

is it you?
Xu Xuan's gaze suddenly fixed on a certain spot in the ghost horde.

The pale, scholarly-looking ghost, though more gloomy than I remembered, still retained the same "vicious and unlucky" aura.

However, surrounded by demons in this place, the Black Mountain Demon, who once dominated the area, now appears extremely small, like a "little black demon".

The scale of this gathering was shockingly high.

Wait, since Black Mountain is located here, then...

With a slight shift of his gaze, Xu Xuan finally caught sight of that familiar yet unfamiliar figure—the Yin-Yang Dharma King!
Unlike his twisted state when he possessed Wang Shunsheng, he was now the most human-like of all the ghost kings.

He wore a long black robe, his hair was tied up with a jade crown, and his eyebrows and eyes bore a resemblance to Wang Shunsheng;

His face was handsome, even "gentle and refined," but only the occasional glint of life and death in his pupils revealed his inhuman nature.
He stood there quietly, while the ghost kings around him subconsciously kept their distance, as if getting too close would draw them into some kind of eternal imbalance...

Xu Xuan narrowed his eyes and suddenly smiled:
“I can’t use magic weapons, and my cultivation techniques are sealed… but the ability to ‘steal karma from the White Lotus’ is my old specialty.”

With a flick of his finger in the void, he imprinted the image of the Yin-Yang Dharma King into his inner vision.

It even unleashed terrifying causal supernatural powers from its mouth.

"Very well, the Yin-Yang Dharma King didn't even glance at me. This feud is now officially formed."

...An upgraded version of "What are you looking at? You can't help but look at me."

This operation was utterly ridiculous—yet it actually worked!

The unilateral causal relationship has been established. The probability of encountering the Yin-Yang Dharma King upon returning to reality will increase by a few percentage points.

Xu Xuan continued forward, when suddenly he felt a void all over his body.

I looked up and met a pair of dark eyes.

Those eyes were like an abyss, devouring everything, majestic and domineering, carrying an unyielding power of judgment. Xu Xuan's figure suddenly stopped, as if bound by invisible shackles, an unprecedented pressure piercing through from the top of his head, penetrating straight to his soul!
