About the update:

This book is actually quite difficult to write, and since I'm only doing it part-time, I'll guarantee at least 16 words per day, with additional chapters depending on the situation. The update schedule will remain the same as now, from 8 AM to 4:25 PM. For combined chapters or longer chapters, I'll try to update as early as 8 AM.

Bonus chapter upon release:

In the past, Uncle Ha would release ten chapters on the first day of publication, but Uncle Ha has no drafts saved up. I have to take the train tomorrow, so please allow me to release ten chapters in two days... which is 10,000 words a day for two days.

Bonus chapter for donations:

Previously, Uncle Ha would add chapters for every 10,000 reward and 10 chapters for every guild leader. Let's keep it that way for now. First, regarding Uncle Ha:
This book features many familiar faces, as well as many new readers who may not recognize Uncle Ha.

Uncle Ha is forever 18 years old. He is a new author who has been struggling for 21 years. His original pen name was Habedas, so he was called Uncle Ha. Now he is using a pseudonym (no need to search, the pseudonym has been around for 19 years, the old account has expired).

If I'm not mistaken, this is Uncle Ha's 15th time being listed, and the 12th time this pen name has been listed.

Since uploading my first book to Qidian on July 28, 2004, I haven't achieved much success with the books I've written over the years. Every day, I'm teetering on the edge of all sorts of bizarre and outlandish ideas and reckless behavior—this book is also an absolutely niche and reckless one.

So it's normal that there's not much data.

Uncle Ha is still figuring things out as he writes this book. The world-building is still slowly unfolding, and there are several major plot twists to come, all of which have been foreshadowed. I gained some insights during this process, which may be helpful for other writers.

Ha Shu's previous book was the most disastrous one he's written in all his years of writing.

At that time, Uncle Ha became a father and felt that he was a middle-aged man and should write some mature protagonists, so he wrote "The Unrepentant Father".

The result... oh my god, he pounced so hard even his own mother wouldn't recognize him.

As expected, Uncle Ha is just an old man with a childish mentality!
People should definitely write what they are good at!

In this book, Uncle Ha is back to being a childish protagonist! Regardless of the results, he's happy writing every day! He's so happy he's practically flying! (Of course, when he doesn't get recommended, he gets so anxious he can't sleep at night).

The book's launch wasn't very smooth. The protagonist is quite pitiful, with a wheelchair, no money, and living like a beast of burden. The editor criticized him for a long time.

They asked me why I chose to cast such a main character.

I don't know what I'm after!

I wonder how many people were driven away by the beginning.

So don't upset the readers... On the first day of the book's release, some old readers came and helped me gather dozens of followers, and then this week, with 20,000 to 30,000 words, it was immediately overwhelmed, with only single-digit collections per day.

This is on the one that is known to have the highest traffic volume among the four types of vehicles.

But it's okay, Uncle Ha has seen all kinds of storms. He'll write slowly and steadily.

He was really happy writing this book.

Moreover, while writing this book, I often had this illusion: Wow, I'm so awesome! Wow, this book is so crazy! So weird! So fun!
Ah, how did I, a 40-year-old old man, end up writing a book like this!
Then, more and more people watched, and more and more comments appeared.

After running around naked for three weeks, when I finally came back to recommend it, Uncle Ha had already climbed to second place on the urban fantasy new book list...

The editor was puzzled and said, "It's gone up even without any recommendations!"

So... perseverance might also be important.

Of course, due to the limited subject matter of this book, its audience is relatively small, and urban life is a super popular genre, so it has no hope of being included in the Three Rivers Awards.

But Uncle Ha is already very satisfied with this result.

I'll write the rest slowly, no rush.

Uncle Ha doesn't get every book published on the Sanjiang list, but looking back at most of them later, ah, they were cut.

I just feel...emmmm, I should still trust writers like Uncle Ha.

This book had a very rough start. It was a new exploration and adaptation for Uncle Ha after a hiatus. He prepared for half a year, revised the beginning 17 times, and it was still terrible...

Actually, as Uncle Ha gets older, it's become quite noticeable in the last two years that his mind isn't what it used to be, and his condition has declined significantly.

I've gradually stopped writing about protagonists with youthful spirit, and many of my friends have stopped writing books because of this.

It seems that many people still enjoy reading it; as expected, whatever is written on Qidian will find an audience!
Uncle Ha is a rather rational person, and he tends to overthink things when writing books.

I used a little trick with this book.

They created a character who is absolutely rational but rarely appears on screen, always behind Hirako, a character you can always trust.

That's right, Master Tang.

I projected my rationality onto Master Tang, and my emotions and passion onto Tang Yiping.

About old books:

If you'd like to read some of Uncle Ha's older books, especially if you like urban fantasy, there's "Paper God," which he wrote 19 years ago. It was considered a masterpiece of the genre back then, and although it's a bit old now, it's still readable.

"Possessed by the Lazy God" is an urban sci-fi novel with a style somewhat similar to this one, and many of the predictions in it later came true.

If you enjoy entertainment stories, you can read "I'm Not a Singing God," an entertainment story that doesn't plagiarize songs.

"The Omnipotent Manor" is an urban fantasy novel with science fiction elements, featuring various plants; "The Demon Raising Chronicle" is a fantasy novel; "The Hunting Ground," "I Am the Captain," and "A Father Who Is Not Human" are science fiction; "I Am the President" is fantasy; "The Hunting Ground" has a very quirky style, so those who like this style might want to check it out.
