Chapter 62 Elrond
Just as the Wargs and Orcs surrounded the expedition from all directions.

First, the brown-robed wizard Darraghast rushed out of the forest on his rabbit sled, provoked the orcs and the wolves, and then quickly fled into the distance.

Then another carriage rushed out of the forest. Dui cast a spell to knock down the two wolves blocking the way, and then drove the carriage in the other direction openly.

What was surprising was that the pony pulling the carriage seemed not to feel any weight at all, and it ran wildly pulling the light carriage, without slowing down at all.

Seeing the people running in two directions, hundreds of Orcs and Wargs split into two groups and chased after the two people respectively.

With the blazing speed of the Rossgobel Hare and his superb driving skills, Darrigast was able to navigate the mountains and forests as if on flat ground, narrowly escaping the wolf.

Dui was a different story. Although the short-legged horse pulled the carriage fast, it was still not as fast as the wolf.

So whenever the wargs caught up with him, he would cast a spell to drive back a group of them, leaving the wargs and orcs some distance away. But soon they would catch up with him again, and he would knock down another group, and then catch up again... In this way, the number of wargs and orcs chasing behind Dui became smaller and smaller.

The wolf is a very cunning and intelligent creature. Although it becomes the mount of the orc, the two are only cooperative, not subordinate.

Seeing that he couldn't get any advantage from Dui, he immediately gave up the chase without caring about the curse from Oak and chose to chase other people.

Dui's original purpose was to lure the enemy away. Now that he saw that the enemy had stopped chasing him, he certainly wouldn't allow it. He immediately changed direction and chased after the warg and the orcs instead.

"Petrify them all!" Dui caught up with a wolf and cast a spell.

The Warg stopped moving, and the Orc on its back was thrown away by the huge inertia.

Before Dewi could cast a spell on Oak, an arrow instantly pierced through Oak's head and sent him directly to hell.

"Who wants to take my head?" Dui looked in the direction where the arrow came from.

A melodious and loud horn sounded from afar.

The ground shook, the horses' hooves clattered,
A host of tall silver figures in rich, elegant armour, mounted on great horses, moved swiftly and swiftly, and hunted Orcs and Wargs across the wilds.

Their skill was such that their movements were quick and graceful, and every arrow they shot found its mark, and every swing of their sword cut off an Orc's head.

It's like a perfect display of the art of fighting.

They are warriors of the elven race.

Faced with the invincible Elf cavalry, the Orcs and Wargs could not form an effective defense at all. They were defeated at the first blow and began to flee in a panic after losing most of their combat power.

The elves followed orders and acted in an orderly manner. After chasing for a distance, they quickly stopped and started to finish off the orcs and wargs that were still alive.

One of the elves walked towards Dui.

The leading elf rode a tall white horse, wearing gorgeous armor and a midnight blue robe. His face showed no signs of aging, neither old nor young, and his black hair was softly draped over his back, bound with a circle of exquisite silver hoops.

His grey eyes shone with wisdom and depth that came from the vicissitudes of life, like a weathered king, emitting a noble and majestic aura that made people feel awe.

"I am a guest from afar, greeting you. What is your name?"

"Duiir, a wizard, comes from the west."

"Duiir the Black Wizard? Friend of Halflings, Treecutter of Huorn, Slayer of Wights, your name is known even among the Elves," the Elf said, his voice curious and somewhat scrutinizing. "But now I'm afraid you also have to add the honorary title of Enemy of Orcs."

"And I sense a sense of fear from other races from you. Did you go to the Troll Forest?" The elf's gray eyes were penetrating, as if they could see through everything in the world and understand all secrets and truths.

"Trolls attacked several nearby villages. Gandalf and I went to the Troll Forest to rescue the villagers and killed several trolls," Dui explained.

"A noble act." The elf nodded approvingly. "So Gandalf came with you?"

"We were traveling together, but I was leading the orcs and the wargs away just now, so we got separated."

Upon hearing this, the elf's attitude became friendly.

"Since you are Gandalf's friend, please come with us."

Together all the way,
The elves were very quiet, which made Dui, who was used to the noisy dwarves, feel a little uncomfortable.

This dwarf and the elf are really two extremes. One talks too much and makes people annoyed; the other talks too little and is like a silent oil bottle.

Hidden in a heather-covered wasteland, the secluded valley is surrounded by treacherous valleys, forests, swamps, and streams, its location making it difficult to discover. Without the guidance of an elf, it's impossible to find the path into the valley.

Dui drove the carriage behind the elves and followed the steep zigzag path into the canyon.

The moment he stepped into the valley, Dui's eyes were amazed, as if he had fallen into a dreamland forgotten by time.

The canyon is full of blooming mountain flowers, and the paths paved with white gravel are winding. The white and elegant buildings are spread out along the valley and both sides of the river, built according to the terrain, and are staggered. Palaces, towers, bridges, gardens, terraces, etc. are lined up one after another.

What shocked Dui even more was that he found that the entire valley was shrouded in a very powerful energy, making the valley full of magical power, spring-like all year round, full of vitality, and filled with a holy and peaceful atmosphere.

Such power has no other explanation except that of Elrond, who possessed the Ring of Air, Via.

On the other side, after Due and Daregast led away the Orcs and the Wargs, Gandalf led Bilbo and the dwarves into a secret passage and came to Rivendell.

The expedition team had just crossed a narrow stone bridge without guardrails and arrived at the entrance of the valley.

An elf walked down the stairs.

"Mithrandir."

"Ah, Lindir, long time no see!" Gandalf greeted familiarly.

"Where is Lord Elrond? I wish to speak with him."

"Lord Elrond is not here."

"Not here?"

"where is he?"

Gandalf wondered.

At this moment, a horn suddenly sounded outside the entrance of the valley, and a group of elven cavalry entered in an orderly manner along the stone bridge.

Looking at the elven cavalry in armor, the dwarves instinctively became alert.

"alert!"

"Weapons ready!"

"Tighten the formation!"

At Thorin's loud shout, the dwarves drew their weapons, pulled Bilbo into the middle, and formed a circle with their backs to each other in a defensive posture.

The elven cavalrymen were not polite either, and kept running around the dwarves, as if they were provoking and teasing them.

"Duiir! I see Duiir!" Bilbo's eyes lit up, and he saw the carriage following the elven cavalry, trying to squeeze through the dwarves.

"Gandalf." The leading black-haired elf greeted Gandalf.

"Lord Elrond," Gandalf said, "where have you been, my friend?"

"Hunting a pack of Orcs that have crossed the Bruinen into the Elvenwood."

Elrond dismounted and handed his sword to his secretary Lindir.

"It's strange that these orcs are so close here. Something, or someone, must have attracted them."

Elrond gave the wary dwarves a meaningful look.

Then the tone changed.

"By the way, when we were hunting Orcs, we met one of your companions and invited him."

He pointed at Dui who came with the elves.
