Chapter 240 Disguised Oak
Dui wants to use the silk of the giant spider Hilob to make an invisibility cloak.

The only problem is that the giant spider Hilob is the offspring of Ugoliant, and is very powerful and difficult to deal with.

Moreover, the place where Hirobord lived was located on the border of Mordor—the Gap of Chiris'ugour, which was very close to Minas Morgul, formerly the Gondor fortress Minas Ithil, now the Mordor fortress.

Going there would inevitably bring us into Sauron's sights and easily attract his attention.

However, Dui felt it was worth the risk; if anything seemed amiss, he could simply use the key to leave immediately.

Moreover, he doesn't need to defeat or kill the giant spider Hilob; he only needs to collect enough spider silk.

“Mentos~” Dui turned a brooch into a one-time door key and then held it in his hand.

In an instant, the world spun around, and when they reappeared, they were in Edoras, the capital of Rohan.

The destination of the portal key requires a place that has been visited before. Dui cannot directly teleport to the lair of the giant spider Hilob, so he can only go to Rohan first.

Instead of staying in Edoras, he continuously shortened the distance by constantly apparating to wherever he could see.

Finally, he arrived at the easternmost point of the White Mountains and entered the territory of the Kingdom of Gondor.

At the easternmost point of the White Mountains, the Anduin River flows through, eventually emptying into the sea to the south.

To the east of the Anduin River lies the Shadow Mountains, running north to south, which also form the border of Mordor.

The giant spider Hilob lives in the western side of the Chilis-Ugo Pass in the middle of the Shadow Mountains.

This is one of the only passages into Mordor from the west, guarded by the Tower of Chilis'ugol.

The Tower of Chiris Ughurs was originally built by the Gondor after the Last War of the Alliance to monitor Mordor. However, after Gondor's decline, the tower was seized by Sauron's minions and became an outpost of Minas Morgul.

Dui Apparated across the Anduin River and arrived directly on the side of the Shadow Mountains.

He could have teleported south along the Anduin River to reach Minas Tirith, the capital of Gondor, and then checked in there.

However, to avoid any unforeseen circumstances, Dui abandoned the temptation and headed straight for the Qilis Wugou Pass.

His mission was to obtain Hilob's spider silk; other matters could wait.

Anyway, I can come to Gondor to sign in anytime from now on, so there's no rush.

Approaching the Qilis Wugou Pass, Dui saw a watchtower in the distance and Ok patrolling nearby.

He thought for a moment, then waved his hand, transforming his clothes into tattered rags, just like the attire of those orcs.

At the same time, his face shape was changing rapidly, and his skin turned deathly pale.

He then conjured a mirror to check himself, and was immediately startled by his reflection.

"Eh~ so ugly!"

Dui in the mirror had transformed into a half-orc, with sparse hair, a flat nose, and blue fangs, making him a sight to behold.

After reluctantly accepting his current appearance, Dui waved his hand again, disguising the staff as a large wooden stick.

Then he swaggered straight toward the Qilis Wugou Pass.

We had just arrived in front of the watchtower.

"Halt! Where did you come from? I've never seen you before!" (in black language) An Oc wearing tattered armor and blind in one eye stopped Dui and asked with a suspicious look.

A group of Oc, clearly led by him, looked at Dui with ill intent.

Dui stopped and examined the Orks, using his Mind Control ability to see their thoughts and memories.

"I'm talking to you! Are you deaf, kid?" Seeing that Dui did not answer immediately, the blind Oak felt ignored. His expression hardened, and he rushed up to Dui, brandishing his spiked club.

"Kid, answer me if you don't want a beating!" (Slang)

Blind Oak was too close, and Dui could smell a rotten, foul odor, almost making him vomit up his dinner from the night before.

Without saying a word, he grabbed the wooden stick in his hand and sent the blind Oak flying.

This sudden scene stunned the other onlookers in Oak, who fell silent instantly, unsure of what to do.
"You dare hit me? Kid, you're dead today! I'll tear you to pieces!" (in slang)

Blind Oak, who had been knocked away, was completely dazed.

After regaining his composure, he shook his head vigorously, and suddenly his eyes flashed with ferocity. He stood up, radiating murderous intent, brandishing his spiked club, and charged towards Dui.

Dui didn't speak, but also swung his wooden stick and fought with the blind Oak.

Blind Oak had no fighting style; he simply swung his spiked club with all his might, looking as if he wanted to kill Dui.

Dui was also quite strong, and under the training of his two brothers-in-law, Elohir and Elladan, his combat skills had become increasingly proficient, making it easy for him to deal with the Orks before him.

However, in order not to expose himself, he deliberately restrained his skill level and intentionally concealed obvious fighting moves, appearing to fight with wide-ranging, instinctive movements.

For a time, the two sides appeared to be evenly matched.

The surrounding Oaks were very surprised to see this, and then became even more excited, cheering and encouraging the blind Oak.

"Take him down, Captain!"

"Roar! Smash his head!"

……

Suddenly, the area in front of the watchtower was filled with noise.

Hundreds of Ocs formed a circle, waving their weapons and shouting and jeering incessantly.

Right in the center, Dui and the blind Ok were locked in a fierce battle.

The blind Oc, who was also the leader of this group of Oc, was filled with shame, anger and resentment as he saw that he could not do anything to Dui.

He drew a dagger from his waist and, intending to kill Dui, charged at him again. Seeing that his act was nearly complete, Dui deliberately exposed a fatal weakness. As the attacker rushed in, he swiftly blocked the spiked club and snatched the dagger from Dui's grasp.

Under the incredulous gaze of the blind Oak, Dui mercilessly slit his throat.

Blind Oak clutched his neck, from which black blood was gushing out, and collapsed in despair. His body twitched a few times before falling completely still.

Upon seeing this, the surrounding Oc fell silent, staring at the scene in disbelief.

"Now, I am your captain! (in black language)" Dui threw the blood-stained dagger on the ground, looked around, his blood-red eyes coldly staring at them, his voice low, "Anyone who disagrees, step forward now and challenge me!"

“But you’d better be prepared to die like him!” Dui said with a cold laugh and a look of disdain.

Upon hearing this, the surrounding Orks exchanged bewildered glances, none of them speaking or making a move, and ultimately they all bowed their heads in submission.

"team leader!"

"team leader!"

……

All the Oc unanimously acknowledged Dui as the new captain.

Upon seeing this, Dui couldn't help but smile slightly.

This is the tradition of the Orcs: whoever can defeat the previous one through strength can take their place.

Blind Orc is the strongest of these Orcs, having led the Orc squad for many years. Other Orcs have challenged him many times before, but none of them succeeded and instead became the victims of Blind Orc.

Therefore, the blind Oc has a high reputation in this Oc team.

Now that Dui has killed the blind Oc, the Oc naturally acknowledge his strength and unconditionally recognize him as the new captain, even though they have never seen him before and do not know his name.

As for the suspicion that Dui is a spy? He looks like an Oklahoma City man now, so no one would suspect him at all.

Thus, Dui became the captain of the hundreds of orcs at the watchtower, responsible for guarding the watchtower and protecting it from Gondor's invasion at any time.

Of course, given Gondor's current state of decline, it has no ability to cross the Anduin River and invade.

So the Orks here are basically doing nothing.

"Captain, what should we do with the former captain's body?" an Oc asked cautiously.

Dui glanced at him coldly and snorted, "What else can we do? Of course, we'll do the same as before and send him to Torreh's lair."

Torreh-Ugo is the lair of the giant spider Hilob, a gloomy, foul-smelling cave at the base of a massive rock wall nearby.

To make the giant spider Hilob the perfect guardian of the Chilis'ool Pass, Sauron ordered the Orks to bring the corpses of severely wounded, weakened, or dead Orcs, as well as some unwanted captives, to Hilob's lair for him to devour.

And the giant spider Hilob would naturally not refuse such a benefit.

Thus, a tacit understanding was reached: the giant spider Hirobum would stay at the pass of Chilis'ugoo and devour all those who tried to enter Mordor through the pass.

Sauron, on the other hand, regularly sent orcs or captives to Hilob as provisions.

Upon hearing Dui's words, Oak, who had asked the question, immediately looked terrified and asked even more nervously, "Then, who will transport it?"

The other Orcs immediately tensed up, shrinking back in fear of being chosen.

Transporting the Orc's corpse to the giant spider Hilob is a mission with almost no chance of return.

Because Hilob had a huge appetite, he didn't mind leaving those who transported Orc's corpses behind as food if they didn't manage to escape.

Therefore, delivering food to the giant spider Hilob became a deadly task, and almost no one was willing to do it.

Dui glanced at the tense Orks around him, a hint of mockery flashing in his eyes.

“I won’t decide who goes directly. To be fair, everyone will draw lots to decide, and the two people chosen will be the ones to transport the bodies,” Dui said. “And I will participate as well, without exception.”

The Oc were surprised to hear that Dui was also going to participate.

Then Dui had all the Orks gather hundreds of arrows, two of which Dui dyed red, and threw them into a long tube along with the other arrows, leaving only a small section of the tail sticking out.

Then it was announced that the two people who drew the red arrows would be responsible for transporting the corpses to the giant spider's lair.

The Octobers looked tense and uneasy as they lined up to draw lots, awaiting what seemed like a fateful judgment.

When he drew an arrow without a red arrowhead, he immediately breathed a sigh of relief, looking as if he had escaped with a sense of relief.

As each of the Oc drew lots, it was finally the turn of an unlucky fellow who drew the red arrow, and a look of despair immediately appeared on his face.

The other Orks, however, showed no sympathy whatsoever; instead, they gloated.

As the number of arrows in the tube dwindled, Oc, who hadn't yet drawn a lot, became increasingly nervous, fearing he might draw the last red arrow.

In the end, only two arrows remained stuck in the tube.

Only two people, Ok and Dui, remain who have not yet drawn lots.

The Oc looked uneasy, unsure of which arrow to choose between the two.

Seeing this, Dui showed an impatient expression and walked up to kick the Oc away.

"What are you dawdling for? Let me go first!"

As he spoke, he grabbed an arrow and drew it out.

A sudden gasp was heard.

All the Oaks stared in astonishment at the red arrow that had been drawn, exchanging bewildered glances.

Upon seeing this, Oak, who had been kicked away, revealed a look of surprise.
