Chapter 101 The Dragon Smaug

After leaving the Chamber of Secrets, Bilbo tiptoed all the way to the treasure house.

The treasury is a spacious hall filled with mountains of gold, silver and jewelry, which reflect a coveted light under the dim light.

Bilbo was also stunned to see such a huge treasure, but then he fell into distress.

This mountain of treasure is so vast that it stretches as far as the eye can see. Finding a fist-sized Arkenstone among so many treasures is like looking for a needle in a haystack!

Before coming, Bilbo asked Thorin what the Arkenstone looked like.

But Thorin did not explain, he just told him that the Arkenstone was different from other gems and he could tell it at a glance.

Bilbo did not understand at the time.

But when he saw the gem, he was sure that it was the Arkenstone.

The Arkenstone is a pure and flawless white gem that emits a shining light, as if it contains a galaxy, making people realize its extraordinaryness at a glance.

The Arkenstone, also known as the Heart of the Mountain, was dug out from the depths of the Lonely Mountain. The dwarves put all their efforts into casting it into a shining gem and inlaid it on the throne, becoming a symbol of the ruling power of the Kingdom under the Mountain.

When Bilbo saw the Arkenstone, he was immediately delighted and hurried to climb up the golden mountain to get it.

But just as he finally climbed up and was about to bend down to take the gem, the golden mountain under his feet suddenly shook.

The golden mountain slid down like a landslide, and even the Aken Diamond flowed into the golden river and disappeared.

A huge figure emerged from under the golden mountain.

Bilbo's eyes widened in horror, for he was now standing on top of the dragon!
Bilbo took a cold breath, immediately jumped off the dragon's head, rolled onto the golden mountain, and ran quickly into the distance.

The dragon opened its eyes, and its huge vertical pupils locked onto Bilbo's vague and illusory figure.

"Little thief, you don't have the scent of a dwarf or a human. What are you? And what kind of magic is cast on you? Why can't I see you?"

The dragon's long tail curled around Bilbo, blocking all escape routes.

"But I smell your scent, hear your breath, and feel your presence. You have nowhere to hide!"

Bilbo looked at the huge dragon's body and the terrifying aura it exuded, and couldn't help swallowing.

He tried to calm his madly beating heart, faced the dragon's gaze, and said carefully: "Uh, Smaug of Infinite Wealth, I am a hobbit, I accidentally broke into here, I'm sorry, I'm leaving now!"

"A mistake?" The dragon's eyes shone with sarcasm. "Tsk tsk, you lying thief! I've seen countless people coveting dragon treasures. Each one of them overestimated their own capabilities. When discovered, they used all kinds of sweet talk to try to get me to spare their lives."

"But do you know what their final fate was?" The dragon's cunning vertical eyes were full of mockery and malice.

"Wha...what?" Bilbo had a bad feeling and put one hand quietly into his pocket.

"That's what I burned to ashes with my dragon flame!" A scorching heat surged from the dragon's chest, and flames were about to burst out of its mouth.

Seeing that the situation was not good, Bilbo immediately took out the ring from his pocket and put it on his hand, and instantly entered the dark world and became invisible.

The dragon could not find Bilbo at all.

"Where are you, you little thief? Come out, don't be shy, step out into the light." "I sense something unusual about you, something of yours, made of gold... but far more valuable than any treasure! It looks like something from an old friend of mine, imbued with extraordinary magic!"

The dragon's language carries a hypnotic and bewitching magic.

By the time Bilbo realized what was happening, he had already taken off the Ring and reappeared in the dragon's sight.

"Aha, so you are here!" The dragon's eyes lit up instantly as if it had caught its prey.

Seeing the dragon Smaug's expression as if he had caught you, Bilbo breathed rapidly, quickly pulled out the mandrake from his magic pocket, and threw it hard at the dragon.

A burst of soul-stirring cries suddenly erupted from the treasure house. The sound continued to echo in the empty room, carrying a deadly magic power.

The dragon was hit hard and its expression instantly showed pain.

Although the cry of the mandrake could not kill him, it caused him great pain, as if a sharp steel needle pierced his ears and even penetrated deep into his brain.

The dragon shook his head desperately, trying to get away from the painful sound.

But the sound echoed throughout the treasure house, so where could he hide?
The painful Smaug rolled wildly, emitting painful dragon roars.

The dragon finally escaped only after it rolled over and buried the mandrake among the gold coins, successfully stopping the mandrake from making any sound.

The dragon was still frightened, and then filled with endless anger and hatred.

"Little thief! I want revenge!!!"

"I will kill you! And your people, I will find them all and destroy them all with dragon flame!!!"

Bilbo had taken the opportunity to run far away, but when he heard the dragon's vow of revenge, panic and regret rose in his heart.

"No, you can't do that!"

"The other hobbits are innocent, they don't even know about this!"

Bilbo couldn't even imagine that the Shire would suffer the dragon's revenge and be engulfed in flames because of him.

The dragon quickly locked onto Bilbo's direction, as if it had found his sore spot, its eyes filled with the joy and satisfaction of revenge.

"They will be devoured by dragon flames because of your offense against the dragon! And you can't stop it!"

Bilbo was disturbed by the dragon's words.

He gritted his teeth and looked determined, determined not to let the dragon have the chance to leave Lonely Mountain!
Otherwise, Charles might face a devastating disaster.

Thinking of this, he immediately took out the gold coins given to him by Dui and tapped them continuously with his fingers.

The dragon suddenly appeared in front of Bilbo, staring at him with its huge vertical eyes and a hideous and evil smile.

"Wizard?" The dragon Smaug stopped attacking and looked at Dui who suddenly appeared in surprise.

"Who are you? Where are you from?"
